We are back...well for a day at least

all the pictures are at the top because i am too lazy to move them all to the bottom. enjoy!

We are back from our trip to jackson and holy cow, was it the best ever! We left monday morning in no hurry, and drove like old farmers do. once we got there we grabbed some lunch and shopped a little then went and check into this cute little cabin.

it was the perfect size for us. it had a little kitchen area and a big bed and a comfy couch. once we got settled in we went up to one of the museums. it was huge and had some great pictures. its amazing all the talent some people have. after we went to town square and shopped and got ice cream, i know its winter but i love my ice cream! we headed back to the cabin to get ready and went to dinner at a sushi place. it was sooo sooo good. i love sushi! after dinner we drove around and looked at the lights.

the next day... we got up and had breakfast at a place called the bunnery. this place is so good. so if you ever go to jackson go there. they have the best bread in the world. and lots of other yummy sutff. we then headed for our sleigh ride. i love this, we have done it every year. and this year i didnt think we were going to get to do it since they have hardly any snow. but we were lucky and they were open. i just love riding listening to the horses and being in the middle of nowhere. and all the beautiful elk, that just look at you like you are dumb. they had some pretty intresting ones this year. on the way back it started to get cold the wind started to blow, i hate the wind it ruins everything. we then headed to teton village, it is so pretty. we saw some wolves, my first time seeing them in the wild. we also saw big horn sheep alot of them. i love to look for those to they are a challenge hiding in the rocks way at the top of the mountain. we headed back to the cabin and enjoyed the hot tub and pool for a bit before dinner. we ate at this fancy place... it was so good. we had steak i love steak it is my favorite food. after dinner we went the movie BROTHERS it was super good, and really intense. it makes you really think about the war and what goes on over there. anyways it just makes you really think.

our last day of the trip came and we were not excited. we wanted to call everyone and tell them we got snowed in but i know no one would believe us. so we took our sweet time getting out of bed and getting ready, then off to the bunnery for one last yummy breakfast. then got in the truck and headed home. we took a different way home one we had both never been on just to stretch our trip out a little longer. it was the best trip, and only a two phone calls the whole time. that made me so happy! well gotta go pack we are headed out again on saturday. have a merry christmas everyone!

we decided to go to jackson hole for christmas this year, as a gift to each other. just the two of us. with NO phones! so if you call and we dont answer, well i am not sorry! we will be back on thursday. see ya'll later!

TREE HUNTING.

OK this is my last post for the day i hope but i had to catch up or i would get even more behind. we have a lot of fun adventures coming up this month. so i have to keep on top of things.

on monday colby and i went christmas tree hunting. it was such a BLAST! we left at about noon and headed up the mountains. we rode the four-wheeler and it was a pretty nice day. not too cold out. we started up the usual spot and kept our eyes open nice and big to spot the perfect tree. we would spot one but then it would be two trees together. all the trees were really really skinny this year. we were getting frustrated with it. but we kept searching. we started making up songs about finding our tree, and we were laughing so much i am sure we missed some nice trees during that time, but oh well we were having fun. we got to the end of the road and decided to get off the wheeler and go searching on foot. we spotted one down the hill, so we hiked over in the snow and climbed over fallen trees and when we got there yep it was a nice bunch of trees. we were so sad. colby went down and i started up hill. i was getting bummed out because i didnt think we would find a good tree. but then i looked up and saw one. so i started hiking up the hill and when i got to it, it was perfect. it was a little tall but it was the one. so i started yelling for colby and he came up and you could tell on his face he knew this was the one. so we chopped it down. it was a super heavy tree. we had to pull it back about 200 feet up the hill and over fallen trees and rocks, and snow up to my knees. i thought i was going to die. but we made it. we loaded it on the wheeler and started laughing becuase it was so big there was no where to sit. but we made it work. we got it back to town, and went to drop off the wheeler trailer at the shop. his dad came out to help us. and when we stood the tree up it was then we realized that it was alot BIGGER than what we thought it was going to be. but it was such a pretty tree. we took it home and got it in the house and its a good thing we have vaulted ceilings or we would have had to cut the tree in half. we got it up and decided to measure it. yeah its a 12 1/2 foot tree. WAY bigger than what we thought. but it is so perfect. we love it. and everytime we see it we cant stop laughing at how bit it is. we had to go get colby a ladder to stand on to decorate it. we tried using a chair and colby is 6 ft 4. and still couldnt reach it. we had such a blast with this tree. we will never forget this trip and the memories we made. cant wait until christmas next year. i am already excited.

5 months... holy moly

it has been 5 months since colby has been to manit. what an overdue trip. we both had to work the day after thanksgiving but luckily i we both got off early around 2. so we packed up the car and headed down to manti. we got there at about 6, which was great timing, traffic was not bad which was great. the first night we just hung out with my mom and dad. everyone was pretty tired, so we just chatted. saturday morning we woke up and got ready and picked up my sister Teddi Sue. no one knew where we were going, we were just driving. we headed towards richfeild stopped and got a snack then my dad just started driving again. we took colby to BIG ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN. i love that place. we got him some big rock candy. then we headed to somewhere then we were in another place and then in another town. i cant remember any of the names but each town had like 5 houses in them. we had fun laughing at things we saw in each town and memories and stories that my dad told us. we started getting hungry so we headed back to richfield to eat some lunch. after lunch we went to home depot. no one wanted to get anything just look around. but as we were wandering in i happened to notice a very nice grill for a very nice price. so i had to hurry and grab colby. he has been talking about buying one for a while but we were going to wait until next summer. but this price was just too good to let go. so we bought it! we were both so excited. we got like $300 dollars off. after home depot we headed to walmart. we shopped a little bit there then we headed for home. we bought four christmases. i love that movie. and we all watched it. then went to bed. sunday morning we got up and went to church with my mom and dad. then my sister katy and her kids came down to eat dinner and hang out. we had some yummy steaks. and lots of other good food. then we all brought our guns out to shoot. we had so many guns everyone brought their own plus an extra. we had funny goofing off shooting around. my nephew bam had his bb gun and he was would walk on his tippy toes up to the pop cans he was shooting like it was a animal he had just shot it was pretty funny. it got pretty cold so we headed back home to play some games. they boys then went looking for deer while the girls stayed and chatted. we had so much fun with them. we always have fun when we go to manti. we wish everyone lived a little bit closer so we could have fun more often.

monday morning we headed back home we left pretty early so we could go on our annual christmas tree hunt.....

Thanksgiving

for thanksgiving this year colby had to work from 4am-to 4pm. so i hung out at the house all morning then his sister picked me up around noon to go to their mom and dads house. once we got there we helped the kids make a little craft then the girls looked through the ads for shopping and the guys watched football. later on all the girls started a craft, a countdown for christmas craft. i would show you but i didnt get to finish. we had a little drama with the kids, someone pushing someone down the stairs, luckily no one was hurt. so the craft was left unfinished i am hoping to finish this weekend. by the time we got the kids all settled down it was time to start making dinner so off to the kitchen we went. about 4:30 colby showed up right in time, we were all just sitting down to eat. we stuffed our faces then we chatted and read some jokes. and played with the kids. we were all too full to eat pie. so we took it home with us. we headed home to pack for our manti trip and get into bed so we could both get up for work. it was a fun thanksgiving. i always love spending it with family and i love thanksgiving, its such a nice day to sit around and relax, there is no rushing and that is my favortie part.

Steak, Bowling, Springs, & Good Company..

this past weekend was a blast. let me start of by saying colbys schedule has changed to 4am-4pm, which i love and hate. let me explain, i love that we actually get to have some nights together and actually make dinner, we just cant stay out too late. (lame i know) but i hate it because he LOVES nights! but its only for two months then they switch again. anyways since he got off at 4:00 both friday and saturday we went on some dates. they were so much fun. Friday i rushed home from work, and pulled in the driveway, i only had enough time to change my shirt. then it was back on the road back to logan. i had set colbys friend dirk up with a girl that i work with. we picked jeneane up and went to texas roadhouse for dinner. it was so so good. my steak was perfect, blood running all over my plate. yum yum! after dinner we went bowling. i had not been bowling for over a year and half. i was so excited of course everyone was talking trash. and well sad to say the girls beat the boys! it was great. the second round though we didnt do so great. the boys pulled off the win. we all had such a fun time. Saturday night dirk came over with a different girl. she was super cute and super nice. a lot different from the usual ones. we went out to eat at pizza villa and then headed up the mountians to sit in the natural hot springs. it was perfect. i had been waiting to go there forever. they have 5 different pools. all at different temps. it was freezing with the wind blowing so we chose the hottest one. it was just right. as you sit in the springs you can look out and see the lake. it is such a pretty place. i love it up there. and i am glad that its pretty close to where we live. we goofed off for a bit and then decided to head home since colby had to get up. it was such a great weekend and it was so nice to get out and do something! thanks boys for planning such a fun weekend!

The Weekend

this weekend Colby and his dad went steelhead fishing in salmon. i dont know where it is i just know it is in idaho and its about 5 hours from preston. they left thursday night, and came back saturday night. they had a great time, they each caught about 9, and they each brought one home. Colb's is 26 inches. it is huge and he is so proud of it. it barley fits in our fridge. i cant wait to eat it tonight. i LOVE fish! while they were fishing they saw a bunch of big horn sheep. so they decided to try and get a little closer, they actually got pretty close and got some really cool shots. one of them was posing for them. they both had a great time as they always do with each other. but i am glad they are back.

while they were gone fishing,i went shopping and to dinner at texas roadhouse with my friend jos. i was so excited to see her. i had not seen her in the longest time. it was so good to go out and just talk and do whatever. i am so excited for her too because she is prego!!! she is due in july, and its her second! so crazy! my parents also came up on friday night, they stayed at my brothers house. so on saturday i came down and my mom and my sister in law and me went shopping. then we all went out to dinner at texas roadhouse. yes i went to texas roadhouse 2 nights in one week. and it was so dang good! it was so good to see my mom and dad. i dont get to see them much, so i was pretty excited when they said they were coming up. i wish we could have spent more time together, but next we will have to try next time. thanks for coming up mom and dad!

our first halloweeny

well for halloween this year, we didnt really do much. although colby and i got to hang out which we werent planning on. but since all their schedules changed he got off at 5:00. i was super excited. our first night for almost 4 months and on a weekend thats a double whammy! i dont know how i got so lucky! no there were no scary movies this year... colby has banned me from them since he works nights and i get scared. yes i am a big baby when it comes to staying by myself in the dark. i HATE HATE HATE the dark. but Colbys mom has a party every year at her house. this year we had to have it on halloween since everyones schedules and sick kids ect ect. so what happens is his mom dresses up like a witch and decorates the house and has creepy music playing. when you get there you get your menu, which is a paper with some riddles... you have to try and get the answers right so you can eat. last year was my first year and i did horrible. i got salad dressing with no salad and i got sauce but no noodles, and i had to eat with a spatula. but this year i redeemed myself. i got them all right. it is so fun to hear what everyone thinks something is. and its funny to see what is on peoples plates. in the end his mom gives in and lets you eat everything and have normal forks. this year we had bat droppings, spiders, frog guts, bloody soup, witches brew, skeleton bones, and fingers. we had some other stuff but i cant remember all the names. after we ate we played some games, and got prizes. We all had a great time. sorry no pictures i forgot the camera when colby was rushing me.

I Know, I Know

I know I have been a slacker i am going to try and keep this short. so first things first... Marvin the ups man finally brought my surprise and i keep forgetting to take pictures of it. but colby got me new WADERS! They are so dang cute. they are tan and have a cabela's in purple writing with a fly in purple. i love them and they fit much better than the last ones. i cant wait to use them next monday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHTON!!!

I also went down to Manti it was my nephew Ashtons 9th birthday! yes the big 9! i feel so old. He told his mom this... "in about 6 more years i will be able to drive!" i thought it was really funny. I hope he had a awesome birthday and always remembers who his favorite aunt is!

Also while i was down there one of my really great friends was sealed to her husband. Paul and Kristi. it was such a great day and i am so happy for them. they are such great examples. they are also expecting a baby girl in January i cant wait to meet her. i wish i had a picture of them but i dont. i sure do miss them a whole lot now that they have moved out of Logan. but we will just have to make it work.

oh yeah... we got our family pictures done a while ago and here is how they turned out. We took them in my in-laws backyard by the waterfall. i love them. I am getting a surprise in the mail today... I am so excited I cant wait to hurry home from work and see what it is. All I know is that Colby ordered it last week for me and it is supposed to arrive today.... lets hope the ups man does not let me down!

FUN TIMES

I WENT TO MANTI THIS PAST WEEKEND FOR THIS LITTLE GUYS BLESSING...

HE IS SO STINKEN CUTE! HE IS REALLY FUNNY TOO! I LOVE HIS HAIR IT IS OUT OF CONTROL AND HE JUST LAUGHS SO MUCH. HE HAS GOT SO BIG SINCE THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM. I MISS BEING ABLE TO PLAY WITH MY NEPHEWS SO MUCH, I USED TO SEE THEM ALMOST EVERYDAY WHEN I LIVED DOWN THERE. I GUESS THEY WILL JUST HAVE TO MOVE TO IDAHO OR AT LEAST COME AND VISIT! (HINT HINT)

WE ALSO WENT THIS NEPHEWS FOOTBALL GAME. HE IS A SENIOR!!! I FEEL SO OLD. IT WAS HIS HOMECOMING GAME.

I KNOW I AM HORRIBLE I FORGOT MY CAMERA AND THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I HAVE OF HIM ON MY COMPUTER.

WE ALSO WENT TO EAT AT THE MEXICAN PLACE FOR MY PARENTS 40TH ANNIVERSARY... YES 40 YEARS!!!

THESE TWO PEOPLE ARE ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES I HAVE IN MY LIFE! THEY ARE THE BEST PARENTS ANYONE COULD ASK FOR! THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO ME AND COLBY WE LOVE YOU! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

AND WHILE I WAS GONE I REALLY MISSED THIS GUY....

I HAD NOT SEEN COLB IN 6 DAYS! NOW I TOLD MYSELF I WOULD BE NICE BUT SERIOUSLY I AM SO SICK OF HEARING OTHER GIRLS SAY THEY DONT EVER GET TO SEE THEIR HUSBANDS. AND WELL TO TELL THE TRUTH I CANT HOLD IT IN ANYMORE. AND I AM NOT SAYING THIS SO PEOPLE WILL FEEL BAD BUT I ONLY GET TO SEE MY HUSBAND ONE DAY A WEEK!! YES THATS RIGHT MONDAY NIGHTS ONLY AFTER WE ARE BOTH HOME FROM WORK THAT IS THE ONLY TIME WE SEE EACH OTHER DURNING THE WEEK AND WEEKENDS. SO OTHER GIRLS STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT IT!

SINCE MONDAY IS OUR ONLY DAY TO PLAY COLBY TOOK ME FISHING ILL HAVE TO POST SOME MORE PICS CAUSE THEY ARE LOADING REALLY SLOW. BUT WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. MY WEIGHTERS HAD A BIG WHOLE IN THEM SO THEY LEAKED AND MY PANTS GOT WET ALL THE WAY UP TO MY KNEES. OH WELL I GUESS I GET TO PICK OUT SOME NEW ONES.

IT WAS A GREAT TOP OFF TO MY AWESOME WEEKEND WITH THE FAMILY!

Southfork trip #2

For Labor Day we went to fish the South Fork. We got up and got things packed and headed out. It was a pretty chilly day. but for the first 4 hours of the float it was pretty nice. we stopped for lunch on a little beach and the wind kicked up a bit and brought on a little chill. so more layers went on. i didnt do much fishing this trip i just kicked back and relaxed reading or chatting with Colbys mom while the boys fished. there was not a lot of people foating either which was great but everyone we talked to was having some major bad luck. the fish were just not biting. Colby caught two and his dad caught 3. usually they catch about 20-30 fish, but as i as said before the fish just were not hungry. as we were coming close to our dock we stopped at one last place to see if we could get lucky. while we were sitting there this baby moose appeared out of no where, it was so dang cute. we waited until we could wait no more for the mama to come out, but she never came. we got off of the river at about 7:00 and we were all frozen. we jumped in the truck and turned on the heat. but we couldnt leave town without stopping to get an ice cream square cone. yum... i love that place. they serve square ice cream. its so dang good. we stopped for some dinner in alpine and then headed home. it was such a nice relaxing day. and even though the fishing was crap we all still had a fun time.

Finally Manti Baby!

I finally got to go to Manti. I was so dang excited. I have not been home for over 2 months. Colby could not go with me because he had to work so my brother rode down with me. We left on Thursday and my mom and I took my sisters boys to the derby. I have not been to the derby in almost 4 years. So I was pretty excited. We were yelling and cheering really loud, we had some really poor sports sitting by us. They had a relative in the derby and I won’t mention names but they are from Ephraim and I used to like them but I am not a big fan of them anymore. I was really glad that he lost just because of how they acted, they really showed everyone how big of losers they really are by booing and yelling things at the winners. Dang poor sports I can’t stand people like that. . My nephew Bam who is 4 had to sit on my lap and I had to take him everywhere. He was glued to my hip. My arms were so sore from carrying him and lifting him up and down bleachers. Then he fell asleep on my lap. And Ashton my other nephew asked about a gazillion million questions. I don’t know how many times I answered the same questions over and over. But I had so much fun with the both of them. I miss living close to them. Friday I just hung out with my mom and until she had to go to work then I headed up to my sister Katy’s house to go to lunch and hang out with her and the boys. We ended up going to this new place that sells ice cream and snow cones. We all got snow cones and they were sooo good. We were all freezing, Bam asked if we could turn the heater on in the car. We headed to subway and grabbed some sandwiches and then back to Katy’s house and sat outside and ate while we watched Bam pull things in his tractor and wash his bike. I played with the baby Cheatton, he is so funny. He looks nothing like the other two boys. But he just laughs and laughs at everything and he smiles at everyone. But he is spoiled because he has to be held or he throws a fit.. Bam and I picked leaves off the tree and called them bullets, we got a huge pile so we could bomb Ashton on his bike on his way home from school. It worked too, Bam got him so good. He made Ashton fall on his bike but he did not get hurt. Ashton is already in 3rd grade. It makes me feel really old to think about that. He loves school and I love to hear the stories. It was only the second day of school and his class had been in trouble. I headed back to my mom and dads so I could get ready. My cousin was getting married and having a little reception in Gunnison. So we all headed there. It was really nice and we had a lot of fun. Saturday we all got up and headed to the temple for the wedding. It was a really nice wedding and I was so excited to go to the Manti temple, I had not been there since I was married, and lucky me they were married in the same room as Colby and I. so I got to look around at it really good, and take in those memories. After the wedding we went and looked around the car show and then ate some lunch and headed back Logan/Idaho. It was a super long drive because a semi rolled on the freeway and we were stuck in traffic for over an hour. But we made it finally. Colby surprised me by taking me out on a date night to Deer Cliff. Our last time for the season. They close on Labor Day. It was amazing as always. I just love that place. We stopped at his sister’s house on the way home and chatted with them until almost 1 in the morning. We were all shocked when we saw what time it was. So we headed home. It was such a good weekend. And I am glad I got to go down to see all of my family. I can’t wait until my next trip. Or until someone comes up to see me! hint hint!!

The Haps...

I have not posted about any of our recent activities but lets see because we have not had very many. Colby has been working the night shift on monday through thursdsay from 4pm to 4am. and those of you who know my schedule i get up at 5:30am and dont get home until around 6pm so we dont see each other for 4 days straight and dont ever really know what is going on with the other. So last weekend since i had been having a bad time at work and not seeing him Colby took me on a date up to deer cliff. it is up Cub river up the mountian and it is the best food ever. i got the trout and WOW it was the best trout ever. we then took a little drive then went home where he surprised me with a couple of movies that i had been wanting to see. It was such a awesome date night. no one to bug us and no work. Sunday night we had family pictures taken by Jenda Golightly (she has a website of her work just click on Bj and Jenda on my freinds she is awesome) i will post family pics when we all get them.

This weekend we took our friends Bj and Jenda to Jackson Hole. we left saturday morning and got to Jackson at about noon, we ate at Bubba's for lunch then headed up to the Alpine slides. they were not as fun as last time. they were really slow and you couldnt go but it was still fun. we then played some mini golf, now i am very competitive when it comes to sports and games. i like to win. and since i beat Colby the last time i was pretty positive. well he beat me by 2 points. but that is ok i let him win. ;) after golf we went to town sqaure for some shopping and just hanging out. we went into a ton of stores and we got ice cream and hit up the candy store. we headed back to the hotel to clean up for dinner. we ate at the gun something i cant really remember what it was called. but it was a really cool place, and lots of great food. if you ever go to jackson and dont mind spending a little more on food, then hit it up. after dinner we headed back to the hotel to go swimming but the pool closed at 10:00. which was dumb. so we had to wait until morning. We just goofed off all night until everyone feel asleep. the next morning we got up and hit the pool for a bit. it was so nice outside and the hot tub and pool were just right. we got out and got ready and loaded all of our stuff. and went to the BOOT BARN! colby bought me some cowgirl boots, they are super cute. i wanted the ones with pink on the top but they didnt have my size of course so i got ones with red on the top. they are so cute. and way comfortable. i love them. i will have to take a picture of them and post it. we then headed to the bunnery for breakfast. it was soooo sooo good. then we headed out to jennys lake and some sight seeing. and stopped at a couple of museums on the way out of town. we had such a great time. it was so nice to get out even if it was only one day. we all really needed it. i love jackson hole. it is one of our favorite places to go. and we do go there a lot. i didnt get any pics because Colby wouldnt carry the camera and i didnt want to either so we only have one by the lake. sorry.

Taser Time

Colby had to get tased a couple of weeks ago. His boss wanted me to come and watch and film it but i just couldnt. After that guy died from being tazed i didnt want to go. So Colb took the camera and had someone film it for me. I still dont like to watch the video either. I dont like the way his head flops back. It looks like he is dead. He said he had never felt so much pain and thought that he was going to die, and hopes he never has to do it again. His shirt had burned sports on it and he was bleeding like crazy from where the prongs hit him. anyways enjoy. My neice Tylee thought that it was hilarous...

SWEARING!

Colby was sworn in on Monday! I have more pictures but for some reason they wont upload. So this beauty will have to do. Dosent he look HOT in his uniform? I was able to meet both of his bosses and they are super nice. I can tell they are going to be like a second family to us by the way they talked and treated us. We are excited to get to know everyone on the team and their families, and for the adventures that will come along over the years.

CONGRATS OFFICER BALLS!

I AM SO PROUD OF COLBY AND ALL THE HARD WORK THAT HE HAS DONE TO GET WHERE HE IS NOW. I ALSO WANT TO THANK OUR FAMILIES FOR SUPPORTING US THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE THING. WE CANT WAIT TO START THIS NEW CHAPTER IN OUR LIFE.
