First trip to the L&D aka Labor & Delivery

Well we had our first little dose of the L&D. it all started on tuesday morning, i just wasnt feeling that great. about 9 i started to get this pain in my right side and i felt a little sick. but knowing me i am stubborn and thought it would go away. about 11 the pain got worse and i left work and came home. i called colby and told him i wasnt feeling good and that i would be home trying to take a nap to see if that would help. well it didnt it just got worse and worse, then i started to throw up, colby came home and kept trying to talk me into going to the ER. but i was against that of course. by about 4:00 i was in the bathroom throwing up and i couldnt barely even walk so i gave in and said i was ready to go. we loaded up and headed to logan. once we got there they checked us in and started asking a million and ten questions that i just did not even care about at the time. i just wanted the pain in my side to stop. they hooked me up to all this stuff and hooked up the baby, and said oh your having contractions. i think both colby and i were about to pass out. we both kept thinking this cant be happening we cant have a baby yet, we still have 10 weeks to go. luckily with all the technology they have these days they got them to stop. they ran a bunch of tests and came back that my white blood count was 20.6 which was really high and lots of blood in my urine, and it turned out that i had kidney stones and some really bad kidney infections. as soon as they knew this they started the drugs, by about 7:00 p.m i was feeling pretty dang good. i dont really remember much of the night just colby sitting by me holding my hand. they gave me a sleeping pill and the rest of the night was blur. i remember nurses coming in about every hour to check on me and talk to me but i dont remember anything they said or what they looked like. so its a good thing colby was there to hear it all. the next morning they moved us up to the mommy/baby floor. the pain was gone, but they wanted me to stay and see how things went. we spent the day watching a movie and tv and me trying to nap. they monitered the baby to make sure he was ok and then finally at about 6:30 they said i could go home. it was so nice to be home. we have been just relaxing the last couple of days and i am on antiboitics until the infection goes away. thank you to everyone else who called and sent flowers and kept us in your thoughts. i am so thankful that i had colby to be there with me every minute of these last couple of days. he really never left my side except to go get me some clothes. i really appreciated everything he did. he really showed how much he cares and loves me. we were glad we got to spend some time together but not under the circumstances. we were going to cancel our anniversary trip but by the way i am feeling today, we are going to go to jackson on sunday and hopefully have some real fun and no more scary trips to the L&D until its really time!

Ringing in the New year.....

first off, we are 28 weeks along... i cant believe how fast that it has gone by. it seems like just last week we were just finding out that we were pregnant. everything is going great the baby is growing healthy and right on schedule and i am still feeling great!

no on to ringing in the new year! We rang in the new year in manti this year with my family. we went down thursday night and had christmas with my mom and dad, (thanks for all the gifts) on friday colby went ice fishing so the girls had a craft day. i will have to take a picture and post it. saturday we hung out and then went to my sister katys house for a new years party. we played games and chatted and then let off fireworks, yes in the negative degree weather. it was freezing, but the kids loved it. sunday we headed home but my parents came to provo to eat lunch with us before we left. we had a great weekend thanks everyone!

we really had an awesome year, it was full of lots of fun trips, basically almost every weekend we were gone somewhere, and if colby was working we went somewhere during the week. i cant believe how time flies so fast and how things change in a blink of an eye. i cant wait to see what 2011 brings us, and i cant wait to make many more great memories.
