Why?? Because that is who i am.

Someone who has a camera with them at all times and only pulls it out for things like this.  

Something for my Grandma

I made this for my Grandma for her birthday.

What do you get for someone that you love a lot and you wanted it to be special?

You make something for them.

When you give a handmade gift your are truly giving a piece of yourself.

You give love.

So i took this idea from a friend of mine that had made something similar.

On this board is all the names of the family that came to be because of my Grandparents.

There is over 65 names on this board and there are more that i need to add in the next few months.

I love being crafty.



Mid Night 5 K

OK so this post and pictures are all over the place so i will try to make it make sense.

Clear as mud????

So I went and did a 5K in St.George in middle of the night 5 months after having a baby.

Yes i know CRAZY.

My sweet sister in law told me i could do it.

My first clue at how the 5 k would be, should have been the sign when we had to get our packets.

Abbott maybe was right.

 

 See this man he is great. Let me tell you why. My Sister in law Alysha was running with me. Well we got separated a time or two and i couldn't keep up with her and i didn't want her to get a bad time because of me so i told her to go ahead. Well when i got to mile one i seen Brady with Emily and he started  running walking what ever i was doing. Well he took pity of my slow butt and finished the race with me. I tell you I do not know how to run with out a stroller. So Brady Emily and I all crossed the finish line together.
I am sure Brady was thrilled about doing a 5k with me. But i know he loves me and he proved it that night. I told him it was nice for his wife to sucker him into a 5k huh. Oh this picture was after the race too.

Our old nightly routine

I am glad to say that we no longer have this routine as of the first part of August 2011.

We had this routine for 8 months of Emily's life. You see the belt around her chest. That was the monitors belt to detect when she would quit breathing. On the belt was two pads. The pads had to be on her sides just under her arm pits. I had to make sure the white wire was on the right side and the black on the left.
In the mornings when i took off the belt sometimes she would have raw spots from the pads.
Emily loved to play with the wires.
Having the monitor made it hard to travel and stay over. We didn't go camping this summer because we had the monitor and it had to be plugged in.
The monitor did go off when the wires or we called them leads would get loses and would no longer detect contact with her. There were a few times that it would go off in the night when i was moving her or just when she was sleeping and she would move and the leads became lose. It scared me to death every time the monitor would go off even if it was a lose lead.

But the monitor did save her life about 6 times. I am glad that part is over now. But i am very grateful that we were in the hospital when it happened the first couple of times. I am grateful for the modern technology that we have that can save babies lives. And most importantly i am grateful for a Heavenly Father that is kind and merciful. Who will lift us up and carry our burdens for us when the load is to heavy.

Emily 5 Months Photos

This is one of my favorite photo's out of this group of photos.

I cant tell you why but it is. Emily is such a happy girl

I love her smile. She is growing up so fast.

Emily is now 8 1/2 months now

Time has flown by so fast. I wish i could just slow it down.

Before i know it my kids are going to be grown.

Fathers and Sons 2011

Every year our church has a dinner and a camp out that is called fathers and sons.

You guessed it its only for the men folk.

This year Brady was in charge of the food for dinner.

So Brady took Colton up early and went fishing.
I asked Brady to take the camera and take some pictures.

He did great he got some pictures.

Here are my boys in front of the lake.

Colton out fished his dad. He caught all the fish and Brady caught none.

This is Coltons first year going to fathers and sons.

They didn't camp this year but they had a ton of fun.
