Vaccine Dangers

...know this, that in that day perilous times shall come.
                                                                  (II Timothy 3:1)

A recent study shows that 21% of pediatric specialists will not recommend the current CDC schedule of vaccinations for their own children.

In other news:

Dr. Paul Offit of the Philadelphia Children's Hospital not only believes that babies can tolerate thousands of vaccinations at the same time, but that aluminum is actually good for them (2013).  Fortunately, there are those clearer heads who say that is insanity and that Paul Offit is a "vaccine maniac."  Troubling...that this man works in a children's hospital.
http://www.naturalnews.com/049393_Paul_Offit_aluminum_vaccine_propaganda.html

Barbara Loe Fisher, co-founder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), points out that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have not rescinded their 1999 directive to the pharmaceutical industry to take thimerosal out of childhood vaccines.
"If unused vials of thimerosal-containing vaccines must be disposed of as hazardous waste because of the mercury content, then why is the American Academy of Pediatrics strongly advocating that thimerosal-containing vaccines continue to be injected into children's bodies?" she asks.4

A Nutty Experiment

One of my subscribers decided to test her sprouting skills on "raw" almonds.  She purchased some so-called raw almonds from her local big box store and she also purchased some raw unpasteurized almonds from an almond farm.  She wanted to make sure that the almonds she consumed were indeed a living, healthful food.

Almonds take longer to sprout than smaller seeds, but she was patient.  After two weeks of keeping these two nuts in the same growing environment, her patience paid off.  She sent me the following picture:

Left: "Big Box Raw" Almond   Right: Raw Unpasteurized Almond

If you are as puzzled as I was just read this Detoxinista post.  She is a wealth of information.

Something is rotten in the state of....

        Double Tragedy

This past week Ben and I attended another stage production of Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet-- a timeless play that includes all the elements of a great thriller:  Greed, murder, corruption, revenge, bribery, madness and suicide.

Amazingly enough, within the same week we have been witnessing the continuously unfolding modern-day story that seems to include all of the same elements--in our own food production industry:

The main cast:  Chemical and Bio-Technology Industries like Monsanto, Cargill, Syngenta, Dow, DuPont and Bayer and many other minor characters.

The plot:

Greed:  The desire to control the world's food supply.  Make money at any cost.  They even help pay for their own awards--like the prestigious World Food Prize:
http://www.naturalnews.com/041022_monsanto_world_food_prize_gmos.html

Murder:  Of plants, animals and perhaps even the humans that eat them.

Corruption:  Across the country, University scientists are funded by Bio-Tech Corporations  (e.g. $50 million to UC Berkeley)  Faulty science and outright lies are constantly fed to government leaders and the public.  Honest, independent scientific research is suppressed.

Revenge:  Any scientist who learns the truth and speaks out is systematically fired, publicly shamed and demonized.

 Gilles-Eric Saraleeni Story:  (gmoseralini.org)

Bribery:  Thousands of lobbyists from Big Oil, Big Chemical and Big Bio-Tech companies pay millions of dollars to buy power.  Even Big Food: Witness the recent Washington State lawsuit alleging that The Grocery Manufacturers Association Against GMO Labeling has been  laundering money to hide the names of participating donors:
http://buzz.naturalnews.com/001047-Grocery_Manufacturers_Association-I-522_campaign_contributors-GMO_labeling.html

Madness: Human health, the well-being of our planet and God's natural order of things, are totally ignored.

Suicide:  Monsanto's purposely withheld information to the Indian government led to the bankruptcy and subsequent suicides of over 250,000 Indian farmers.

This time it is not just a play.  We need to be wise consumers.  Check out the Non-GMO Shopping Guide:   http://www.nongmoshoppingguide.com/shopping-guide.html

If we simply stand by as spectators and guinea pigs, I'm afraid that in the end it is we and Nature who will cry out with Hamlet:  In this harsh world draw thy breath in pain to tell my story.

Jeffrey M. Smith tells the story in the following documentary:
Genetic Roulette:  The Gamble of Our Lives

There is a Tide in the Affairs of Men

NOT IN MY HOME!  I am determined to have a clean-smelling house without harsh commercial products, the popularity of Tide, Clorox and Bounce notwithstanding!

We live in a toxic world, as evidenced by the following suggestions:
http://healthyliving.msn.com/health-wellness/12-household-toxins-you-should-banish-from-your-home#1

So here are some safe ideas that will make your home smell heavenly:

Orange TKO:  I use this for everything. It kills mold, fungus and bacteria. It comes with instructions for using in the kitchen, bath, laundry, on stains, as an air purifier and is even safe to use on houseplants.  Here's a laundry detergent recipe:

Mix 2 cups baking soda in a quart of water.  Add 1/4 cup Orange TKO Cleaner and shake well to mix.  Pour into a plastic gallon jug and fill with water.  Shake to mix before each use.  Add 1 cup per full load, to washing machine.

Castile Soap: You can make a liquid dishwasher soap with 1 cup Castile Liquid Soap, 1/2 cup water and 2-3 drops essential oils.  Shake well.  Use 2 tbsp per load.  Use 1/2 cup white vinegar only as a rinse aid.  You can also make an all-purpose household spray cleaner:  http://lisa.drbronner.com/?p=64

Essential Oils:

Rich Honey and Essential Oils Bar Soap from Bees to Bubbles:  These soaps smell divine and are totally natural and safe:  Contact Tina at bees-to-bubbles@hotmail.com

Deodorant:

Laundry:  Put a few drops of essential oil in a bottle of unscented laundry detergent to add a fresh scent to the wash. The amount of oil you add will depend on the size of the bottle and your personal preference. Shake up the detergent and give it a sniff after every two or three drops.

Fabric softener: Stir 3-4 drops lemon, cinnamon or other essential oil into 1 cup white vinegar and add to the last rinse cycle.

Add 20-30 drops of essential oil to a gallon of white vinegar to make your own fabric softener. Shake it up. Add 1 cup of this vinegar to the last rinse cycle for large loads or ½ cup for small loads. Your laundry will be softer and smell fresher.

Sprinkle two or three drops of essential oil on a white cotton cloth and toss it into the dryer. Run the dryer on your usual heat setting.  Set the dryer to “no heat” after your clothes are dry. Run the dryer for an additional five minutes to set the smell in your clothes.

Wood Dryer Balls:
http://www.diynatural.com/how-to-make-wool-dryer-balls/

Dishwasher Rinse Aid: Mix 10-15 drops lemon, lavender or other essential oils to 1 cup of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and fill your rinse aid dispenser.  Lasts about one month.

Dishwasher Soap:  Mix 1 cup borax and 1 cup washing soda.  Use 1-2 tsp. for each load.  For a lemony smell, add 1 or more tablespoons citric acid (like Fresh Fruit) to your mix.  For a scrubbing action, add 1/2 cup kosher salt.

Toilet:  I like to sprinkle 2-3 drops lemon essential oil in the bowl after each use.

What a notion that medicine ever cured anyone!  Killed them, yes!
(War and Peace (1869), Tolstoy)

The Prophetic Tolstoy

Tolstoy had some strong opinions about the medical procedures of his day:

Though the doctors treated him, let his blood, and gave him medications to drink,
he nevertheless recovered.   (War and Peace (1869), Tolstoy)

One would think the situation would have improved in our day, but...maybe not:

According to the most recent (September, 2013) research1 into the cost of medical mistakes in terms of lives lost, 210,000 Americans are killed by preventable hospital errors each year.
When deaths related to diagnostic errors, errors of omission, and failure to follow guidelines are included, the number skyrockets to an estimated 440,000 preventable hospital deaths each year!
This is more than 4.5 times higher than 1999 estimates published by the Institute of Medicine (IOM),2 and makes medical errors the third-leading cause of death in the US, right after heart disease and cancer.
