The Mighty Mortys

I can't beleive that my little Ella girl is 6 years old today. Man, where has the time gone? It was just yesterday that I was in terrible back labor and walking up and down my stairs wondering if this was truely the time to go and have her. Luckilly at 11:35 pm. Ella Sharee Mortensen came into this world. Although my dad who was in the room with all of us kept complaining that she needed to come quicker so he could go home and sleep. But sure enough in her due time Ella came. She was born on her grandmas birthday too! Bryan's mom Lanae loves sharing a birthday with her. Those two really love each other. Ella woke up this morning and even said that she needed to call her grandma and tell her Happy Birthday. My little princess is growing up really fast but I sure do love her. She is a great addition to our family and touches everyones heart wherever she goes. Everybody knows Ella, even all of the older kids in her school, 8th graders on down. She has a great gift for making friends and I hope she always will. I love you Ella!

I just wanted to take a minute and thank all of the men in my life that have been extreme examples to me of what a father is. I love all of them dearly and wanted to let them know.

First of all I want to thank my husband and tell him I love him for his example to us as a family. He is such a hard worker and is very dedicated to the church and helping others. He is very giving of his time and talents. He has such a great spirit and leads by example. I am very blessed to have him in my life!

My brother Brent. i am very proud of him for the father that he has become to Sav and Gavin. He is a natural at it! He stepped into the role as their stepfather and has never once thought twice about it. I like to think of him as there real dad because he doesn't act any different. I love you Brent!

My brother Brian. What can I say, he is a great dad as well. He works so hard and is very giving. He has always had a special place in my heart, even when I was younger. I looked up to him and wanted to find someone like him to marry, (for the example he is as a father ). I love spending the time with him that I have and am truly grateful for him.

My own Dad!!! What can I say that would do this guy justice?! He is an awesome dad and great Papa! He has been there for me through thick and thin. Never once did he write me off or turn the other cheek when I gave him a run for his money. He stepped up when mom passed away and even though it was hard on him he never stopped being my dad. I love how sensitive he is and how he loves to have fun. I really love him for all that he has done and for all that he continues to do.

It has been a very busy last couple of weeks over here so I will have to catch everyone up to date on the happenings over at the Morty's! My kids are still in school but this is their last day today. They are very excited to start the summer as am I. We all get a little bit more sleep in the mornings! Ella had her Kindergarten graduation last night and it was very cute! She is my last child to go to kindergarten so it has been bitter sweet. My baby is growing up people. This first picture is of Ella's Princess Hair. This is what she wanted for her night. I tried to make it look cute.


The next is of her and her brothers. They had to be told over and over to get closer together in the picture so it looked right. I guess it will be a little while longer before they like her.


This is of her and her daddy. She loves him so much. Bryan had an experience with Ella that is too funny. Ella brought home a picture of her and a boy in her class named Drew. They were married and kissing. She had written across the top Ella loves Drew. Bryan looked at me and said,"It begins!" he saw this boy at the grad and he is really cute. Then we find out that most of the boys in Ella's class love her too. We are in for it with her I guess.

This last picture is of Ella and her teacher Mrs. Pusch. We love her a ton. Mrs. Pusch taught Gavyn as well. She told us that all of the 1st grade teachers are fighting over who is getting Ella in their class. One teacher found me and told me that she is going to get Ella no matter what and said how much she loves Ella and how funny she is. This little girl of mine has everyone in the school knowing who she is. If anyone knows her knows that she has a huge personality and it is hard to not like her. All of my kids are like that. (There was my little dotting parent act for ya!)


We all got together for Memorial Day too and had some pictures from that night too. I love getting together with my family and playing games and eating great food. You can't get better game playing than our family playing games!


As we were getting ready to play Phase 10 my brother Brian looked across the table at my dad because he put on his glasses and started laughing. Then he said, "Holy cow, you look like that old man from the movie Up!" We all died laughing. I got up and printed out a picture of the guy and dad is a dead ringer for the guy. What do you think?
