Jay's Gator Golf Birthday

Jay invited Emily & Ashley to his 4th birthday party at Gator Golf. Emily had never been to Gator Golf and once I pointed out where it was, every time we drove by there she would say "There's Jay's birthday party. When is it Mommy?"! She didn't even know what Gator Golf was, she was just excited that there was a party there :) Now that she knows what and where it is, every time we drive by she says "That was Jay's birthday party!"

There were quite a few of Emily's friends from church there. They pretty much played the entire course. The attention spans were getting short closer to the end! But that's ok! Emily "made" a hole in one on the first hole! She was excited!

After they played we had pizza and cake at the pavilion! It was such a nice party! Thank you Jay for inviting us :)

Elmo's Green Thumb

Tracey and Lily invited Emily and I to go and see Elmo in Ft. Smith. It was on a Tuesday night so we just drove down and back that evening. We left Ashley with Daddy and had a girls night! We went to eat at, where else, Chick-Fil-A before the show :) Emily was so excited because Daddy had just bought her some "Dorothy" shoes (red sparkly flats) at Target and she HAD to wear them to Elmo! The girls were VERY well behaved. They talked the whole way down and the whole way back. And yes, we did not get back until around 10:00! I am so glad Emily has such a good friend in Lily! They call each other "best friends" :)

Terra Studios & Botanical Garden

While I was gone Daddy, Gigi, Emily & Ashley visited the Terra Studios (home of the Bluebird) and Botanical Garden. According to all reports, they had a great time! Emily got a pink bluebird at Terra Studio and they had a picnic lunch! She also had fun running around at the Botanical Garden!

Emily's 3 Year Checkup

I just cannot believe that Emily is 3 years old! I just don't know where the time has gone! Here is what my 3 year old is doing:

~ Weighs 32 pounds and is 37 1/2" tall

~ Wears size 3T/4T clothes. Completely depends on where I get it!

~ Wears sizes 8-9 shoes

~ Sleeps from 9:00 until about 7:30 in the morning.

~ Takes an afternoon nap around 1:30 and sleeps for 1 1/2 hours.

~ Talks WONDERFULLY! She says so few things wrong! I don't usually correct her when she does, just because they are few and far between!

~ Says "Why" at least 1,000 times a day...I promise! I think this will be Ashley's first word!

~ Loves to read our devotion book every night before we go to bed. She will say "What is today's date!" and then we find it in the book.

~ Loves anything Disney Princess! Anything!

~ Can "read" several of her books!

~ Can sing so many songs! Loves to sing out of the hymnal with me! Knows that Holy, Holy, Holy is hymn #1.

~ Eats very well. Sometimes she will eat 8-10 little frozen pancakes at breakfast! Has eaten 2 PB&J sandwiches at lunch before! Is pretty picky about her meat, she just likes "plain chicken"!

~ Loves to say her prayers at night!

~ Can ride her tricycle very well!

~ Can completely dress herself (as long as everything is "inside out"!)!

~ Can do several puzzles all by herself, including a 20 piece Cinderella one!

~ Seems to do lots of whining!!! Sometimes I can hardly stand all of the whining!

~ Still sucks her thumb, but we are REALLY working on it right now!

~ Is wonderful, beautiful, cute, thoughtful, smart, energetic, loving, sweet, awesome, precious!

~ Will say "I love you Mommy!" without being prompted!

~ Has to give Mommy & Daddy and Ashley hugs and kisses every night!

~ Has the most amazing memory! She remembers things that Mommy and Daddy don't! Blows my mind what all she remember!

Mommy's "Business Trip"

I took a "business trip" to Dallas all by myself! Charles had a few days he needed to schedule off and I said maybe I could go to Dallas to spend some time with Vicky and he could stay home and spend some "daddy" time with the girls :) I told him to take off on Friday, the 21st and Monday, the 24th. Well, he took off on Thursday and Friday the 21st and 22nd. I said that was fine, but that he would have to take the girls to Emily's 3 year check-up and dentist appointment on that Thursday (which is why I had originally told him to take off only on Friday, I knew I was going to have to take the girls :)! After much consideration, he decided to leave it as Thurs and Fri and asked Gigi to come up and stay with Ashley while he and Emily went to the appointments!

I had a great time! Vicky was not back at work yet, but we got to go to the stadium and visit and get a behind-the-scenes look the day before the first home game. Everyone was so stressed out and planning on staying there all night! It was so cool to see everything! There were busses and trucks driving around in the tunnels!

We also went to Founder's Park. The COOLEST park I have ever been to I think! It is right at the end of the runways at DFW!!! You can just sit there and watch airplanes all day! AND they air the Air Traffic Control on a loud speaker! It was just awesome! We were there for over 2 hours I think! I have always had a fascination with airplanes, I could seriously just sit there all day! I highly recommend it to everyone!

I had a great weekend! I am going to have to take "business trips" more often :) Thank you so much to Jeremy, Hadley and Vicky for the wonderful hospitality!

Charles and I finally got new bedding for our bedroom! Our old bedding had several spit-up stains from when Emily was little, we just hadn't ever gotten around to getting a new one! We only make the bed up with the comforter and everything when someone's coming over :)

I have been a big fan of anything blue and brown for a while now! So I had seen one at Bath & Beyond (as Emily says) that I really liked. When I went back, they still had it so I took it as a sign that we needed to get it :) We got a comforter, bed skirt, shams, throw pillows, small throw blanket and 2 valances! I really liked it! The pictures don't quit do it justice, you'll just have to come over to see it :) Now, we have to get new stuff for our bathroom so that it matches the bedroom :)

Sterling & Meadow's Birthday Party

On Saturday we went to James & Adrianne's house for Sterling and Meadow's birthday party. Sterling turned 3 in July and Meadow will be 2 in September! They had a Madagascar party with animals everywhere! I just can't believe how big our babies are getting! Emily had a great time! They have a big wooden swingset that she just loves to play on! They had little pools set up for the kids to play in! All of the kids sat at a little table to eat their pizza, it was so cute! Sterling had dropped the box of cupcakes, but they were still yummy! It was a great party!

Emily & Hadley's "Sip & See"

As if there was not enough going on the weekend of Emily's birthday, Mimi and Bub decided to take advantage of having Vicky and Hadley here and held a "Sip & See" Sunday afternoon to introduce everyone to the girls! It was great to see all of our friends and family in Fort Smith. All of the girls were troopers :) Of course the best time to do something like that is in the afternoon right during naptime, but everyone seemed to be well behaved!

It is so fun to have all 3 girls together! It is especially neat to see Ashley and Hadley together! I can't wait until they can interact with each other, it will be so cute! I made the mistake of putting the girls in the same dresses that we had recently had their pictures made in. We used one of the pictures for Ashley's announcement and sent several people pictures of the 4 of us together! So, needless to say, yes, my girls do own and wear other dresses than the pink and green ones seen here :) I just happen to love them! Charles happens to not love the, but that's ok :)

Emily, Ashley and I stayed in Ft. Smith for a few days with Hadley and Vicky. Charles has to come back home to work, I guess someone has to around here :) We had a great time! We had the girls' pictures made at Penney's one day! They did ok, it was very hard to get all 3 of them to cooperate at the same time!

Happy Birthday to Emily! (Party #2)

On Saturday, August 8th we had Emily's family party at our house! We were so excited that everyone got to come, including Aunt Vicky and Hadley (Uncle Jeremy had to work...boo!). We had lunch of sandwiches, chips and fruit and then we had cake and ice cream! Again, Emily got more than she could have ever asked for! It was definitely a Cinderella party! She picked out a castle cake that turned out REALLY cute!

The night before Daddy had put together Emily's swingset that was her present from us. She thought he was mowing the yard, but he was really out there putting the thing together! It's the first of many things that Daddy will have to put together :) So, on Saturday morning we let her go outside and see it! She loved it and during the course of the day I think everyone had a turn swinging her on it (she made sure of it)! Since then, when it rains, she informs me that God is watering her swingset :)

Happy Birthday to Emily! (Party #1)

We decided to have 2 parties for Emily this year, a family one and a friend one. I don't know what we were thinking, but that's what we did :) Well, we were thinking that it would be WAY too many people to have one party for everyone! We had her friend party on Friday, August 7th at Chuck E. Cheese in Rogers from 12:00 to 1:30. She invited 17 friends! So we had a really great group! We had a great time! Emily had decided that she wanted a Disney Princess party, so that's what we did. We also let her pick out her cakes for the parties (we maybe helped a little :). She picked out a crown made out of cupcakes for this party. She got lots of wonderful presents and had a great time! Thank you to all of her wonderful friends!
