Its a little sad.

I managed to salvage a few photos from my Bentong trip where I met up with Amelia and Serene. Still wish I could’ve gotten more back though. That’s what you get from a second-hand CF card that came from my dad =.=

Anyways, here are the pics!

We actually met up with Amelia first at a small chinese food court, bumped into her cousin Louis, it was just so awesome to see the both of them again. Its been so long since we all saw each other at YAC. Sadly the pics were lost somehow cos my CF card got corrupted. I even got to ride on Amelia’s bike! For the first time ever, I rode on a motorcycle! Pretty fun actually. Serene met up with us at the food court and we all headed up to a small durian orchard. Took pics there too, but like I said, lost thanks to the stupid CF card =.=

Fast forwarding the events of that day, bought A LOT of durians, and headed to the waterfalls Bentong is so famous for.

To actually get up to where we were standing, it was a little difficult cos of the rock face and I personally regret wearing my white adidas shoes….=.= personal note to self: never wear nice shoes when you KNOW you’re going to a waterfall.

Saw this small dragonfly flying around the spot I was taking photos at, but couldn’t get a good enough shot. I NEED A MACRO LENS.

Eric scolded me after he found out the settings I used for taking some of the photos I did in sunlight. lol.

There were plenty of heroes that day at the waterfall, it was packed, and many were stand near the part where the some of the water crashes hard on the rocks

Went to this awesome place after, where they had indian rojak, nasi campur, and ice kacang. Oh, and THEY MADE THEIR OWN ICE CREAM. HOW COOL IS THAT. Unfortunately, the CF card died on me, and I only manage to recover a few of those photos. To be more exact, one from that place.

It was some pretty amazing stuff.

Thanks Amelia and Serene for showing us around Bentong! Love you guys! Great friends are they. He who shows me durians shall be called my brother. LOL

I actually went for Sherwin’s dinner party later that day with the camera, but that’s where it died on me. =.=

Fast forwarding even more, graduation came, and my camera was still messed up, so I the ol’ blue lumix was going to have suffice for photos.

Woke up with a few butterflies in the stomach. Did the usual routine in getting ready, only this time, I was getting a little dressed up for graduation at school.

You can clearly see the difference between a compact digital and a digital SLR…..haiz….even though things were as bad as they were, had to make do with what I had.

Was taking a few pics in class but a lot came out very noisy, so decided to edit them

And I barely knew any form of Chinese. 5 years have passed, your English has improved tremendously, and my Chinese………….well your English has improved!!!

Its been one helluva ride, from SMK Tropicana up till DU. Who knew we’d be where we are now? So say hello to the end product of 5 years of friendship.

It felt like I was in Harry Potter. I hated it. LOL it was so hot that day the gowns themselves were like personal saunas. But we still mustered up the spirit to take photos in class after putting them on.

Justwin and Fazira. In reality, I’m taller than both of you. Bah I’ll let you have your day. lol

Made a quick visit to Cendana. Lol Wein and Louis. Wein was one of the first friends I made when I came to DU. Things changed a lot since then huh? Lol you’ll always be one of my best friends.

AMIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you ever read this, just know I’m going to miss everything I ever ate that you cooked. You’ve been a great mentor, friend, and sort of den mother. Love ya.

There's not limit to how much I can thank you for all the teaching you gave us all, and especially to me. You definitely stand out amongst all the teachers who’ve taught me.

A little weird don't you think? Maybe some of you may be past this juncture or you're still a long way from it, but I'm at it right now, and I can tell you, there's never been a weirder feeling.
Try to imagine, last time when you always went to kindergarten, how fun it was?
It was like the good times would never end, what with nap times, snack times, learning your ABC's.

Ah......good times.

Secondary's a little like that, maybe more or less fun, we'll still miss it don't you think?
For 11 years school became an integral part of our lives, yet we didn't notice.
We've been going to school for so long, we didn't stop to think about life without it.
We've always been in such a hurry to grow up, to leave school, to go out into the world and leave it all behind.
But now we're here, caught in this moment, now.

It sucks that we're graduating before SPM and not after.

Time to grasp every little bit of time we have left with each other eh mates?


Its times like these which make you look back on your entire schooling life.
Like remember when we first went into Primary 1?
A few here and there were kicking and screaming, many just not used to the idea of leaving kindy or home for that matter. I remember I used to hate school. I even hid under my bed till the school bus stopped honking its horn and left just so I could skip school.
Now I'm finding it a little hard to imagine life without it.

I'll miss a lot of my friends. I'll miss a lot of my teachers (some more than others if you know what I mean. X) ) I'll really miss some particular people.
I'm just not at liberty to say.

I find it difficult to imagine no longer walking down the hallway, bumping into classmates and schoolmates. And just plain acting like idiots because its just so damn fun.

More thoughts on this matter after graduation.

Au Revoir, Pn Chan.

Went to school on Friday thinking it would be just another normal school day, only with one of the occasional teacher farewells. Almost didn’t get up out of bed when the alarm rang. Almost went back to sleep after turning the alarm off. But only when I got to school, did I realise how a big a farewell the school was throwing for Pn Chan.

Never really knew Pn Chan much, but I still remember the first impression I had of her the first time I transferred to DU. She seemed like one of those teachers you wouldn’t want to piss off. And whenever anyone was called out to see her for disciplinary reasons, you knew they were in deep shit. I don’t really remember getting much scolding from her (I’mma good boy XD ) but what I do remember is, she’d probably scold the living daylights out of you, but afterward, she’d calm down, and take time to understand the situation and try to help you. I guess even though I didn’t know her that much, she really stood out among the rest of the teachers, someone with a heart for the students. Unlike some teachers. Or principals. (cough cough)

There was a farewell celebration prepared for Pn Chan on Friday and there were quite a few performances, some good, some amazing, and some not so amazing…..but overall, still a memorable farewell for a memorable teacher. Without further a do, here are the pics from that day.

Had a short perhimpunan, then the form 4’s and 5’s had to go to the hall whilst the form 3’s stayed back for something at the assembly grounds. Walked around with Eric and took photos while waiting for the whole thing to start.

Caught Sherwin, Afiq, and the rest of 5 Meranti and a few bits of 5 Keruing getting ready for the Jaiho Dance.

snuck around the hall taking more photos, and once the event was about to start, went up front where the rest of the photographers were waiting.

Pn. Norsham gave one of her signature speeches, which pretty much dragged the event on a little longer than it should have lasted. So decided to go out of the hall to take a few more shots.

was still stoning and taking shots outside till Pn.Chan came on stage, and the whole hall was filled with the noise of claps and cheers.

After Pn Chan’s speech, which left her crying a few tears of sadness and joy, the performances began.

the orchestra started playing the intro to billie jean, which was pretty damn cool, until they just cut it off for some reason to switch to another song.

Then it was V-ki’s turn, performing some awesome tricks with her chinese yo-yos, better known as Diabolo. With her performance was this dam addictive song called “Dancing in the Moonlight” by Toploader.

lighting in the hall was shit. So most of the pics were blurred. =.=

After that, one of the form 4 classes sang “Sha La La La” by Vengaboys.

Then after them, the prefects sang “Angels Brought Me Here” by Guy Sebastian

Scouts of the 73rd Petaling performed the Sorry Sorry dance by Super Junior. Then, Batmanjelee (not sure if I spelt it right) a form 3 prefect I used to play the violin with in the orchestra came on to sing “Hero” by Mariah Carey. OMG. Her voice is amazing.

DU’s got hidden talent huh?

I’ve forgotten his name. But he came on and sang one english song and one mandarin song. Help me out here, readers.

Finally, the last performance came on, and it was none other than the Jaiho Dancers, made up of 5 Meranti and Kenanga students. Even though they all were in standby positions on stage, they started a little late cos someone tried to sabo them. Their CD was stolen so they improvised, using their iPod. Heh, barang rampasan saves the day!

The dance was dam nice, till one part, when they were 3/4 way through, Sherwin and Afiq S. came in through the middle and it got AWESOME. The crowd started cheering wildly.

Rockstars they are. After the Jaiho dance, they sang “You Are Not Alone” by Michael Jackson.

Then all the different departments, clubs, and teachers came and personally gave Pn Chan gifts. Our beloved headmistress was nowhere to be found that time. =.=

Then all the higher-up teachers came up and said their goodbyes to Pn. Chan. Many were in tears.

Heck, even the Jaiho group came up and gave her a goodbye gift.

The whole school proceeded outside to the assembly grounds and all awaited Pn Chan to come out of the hall.

The sky was quite nice that afternoon. Kinda looks like a shark don’t you think?

She gave words of advice to most of the students waiting for her on the way to her ride. She even said goodbye to me and Eric. I’m not so good with goodbyes, so go figure.
