This self-titled record was released in 2019 and marks a change in Argentavis' sound. In their first record (split with Dispara), Argentavis played d-beat/crustcore influenced by Wolfbrigade and now the band plays longer songs and with a sound more focused on the neocrust (in certain moments it reminds me of the Brazilian band Reiketsu).

Esse registro auto-intitulado foi lançado em 2019 e marca um mudança no som da Argentavis. No primeiro registro deles (split com a Dispara), a Argentavis tocava um d-beat/crustcore influenciado por Wolfbrigade e agora banda toca músicas mais longas e com sonoridade mais voltada para o neocrust (em determinados momentos soa como Reiketsu).

RASTILHO - O PREGO E O CAIXÃO

De acordo com a informação extraída do Bandcamp, Rastilho é: Fio coberto de pólvora ou embebido em qualquer substância combustível, para comunicar fogo a algo, gerando uma carga explosiva. Aquilo que constitui a causa, a origem de evento de forte repercussão social e política (o rastilho de uma greve, o rastilho de uma revolução). Pois bem, com essas palavras você já tem noção de quais são os ideais da Rastilho e porque eles existem e fazem barulho/protesto, algo de suma importância hoje em dia em se tratando de Brasil, onde a sociedade está bem doente e reacionária. As letras deste album abordam temas como feminismo; críticas ao sistema, sociedade, consumismo e ao neoliberalismo; e principalmente uma mensagem de resistência. Em termos de som, a Rastilho toca um crustcore agressivo e bem feito, que em determinados momentos alguns timbres das guitarras lembram a sonoridade de bandas neocrust. Vale lembrar que a Rastilho é composta de membros de bandas como Abuso Sonoro e O Cúmplice. "O Prego e o Caixão" foi lançado em 2018 e é composto onze faixas, destacando "O Corpo Rebelde" e "Desenraizados". Massa!

According to the information extracted from Bandcamp, Rastilho (rastilho means fuse) is: Wire covered in powder or soaked in any combustible substance, to communicate fire to something, generating an explosive charge. What constitutes the cause is the origin of an event of strong social and political repercussion (the fuse of a strike, the fuse of a revolution). Well, with these words you already know what the ideals of the Rastilho are and why they exist and make noise/protest, something very important nowadays when it comes to Brazil, where society is very sick and reactionary. The lyrics on this album cover themes such as feminism; criticism of the system, society, consumerism, neoliberalism and especially a message of resistance. In terms of sound, Rastilho plays an aggressive crustcore and does it well, that at certain moments some guitar tones resemble the sound of neocrust bands. It is worth remembering that Rastilho is composed of members of bands like Abuso Sonoro and O Cúmplice. "O Prego e o Caixão" was released in 2018 and consists of eleven tracks, highlighting "O Corpo Rebelde" and "Desenraizados". Good!

Tulpa é uma nova banda italiana e som deles é neocrust com bastante melodias. Bem, eu não escutei absolutamente nada de black metal, mas a banda se diz influenciada por esse estilo. Enfim, curte aí.

Tulpa is a new Italian band and their sound is neocrust with a lot of melodies. Well, I did not hear anything black metal in the songs of this band, but they are said to be influenced by it. Anyway, listen up.

REIKETSU - NINHO DE HARPIA

Reiketsu é realmente é uma banda interessante. Lembro que assisti o show da banda em 2013 no Exhale The Sound (Belo Horizonte) e sem dúvida foi uma das apresentações mais legais. A atmosfera das músicas juntamente com o local e as pessoas envolvidas criou uma sintonia única... boas lembranças. Em 2016 a Reiketsu lançou "Ninho de Harpia", um álbum que transportou a banda para outra dimensão. Digo isso pois "Ninho de Harpia" é um álbum que soa mais post-metal do que neocrust ou crust (óbvio, as influências ainda permanecem) e isso ao meu ver tornou a banda mais original e com uma identidade própria. As duas primeiras faixas que ouvi desse registro foram "Homem-Nada" e "O Inferno em Suas Narinas", justamente as músicas que mais se destacam neste álbum (boas letras também). Com relação as letras que são bem elaboradas, vale ressaltar que todas são cantadas em português (mais outro mérito). Para finalizar: "Ninho de Harpia" é mais outro destaque de 2016 e que merece ser conferido caso você ainda não escutou. Vida longa ao Reiketsu!


Reiketsu is really an interesting band. I remember watching the band's show in 2013 at Exhale The Sound (Belo Horizonte) and it was certainly one of the coolest performances. The atmosphere of the songs along with the venue and the people involved has created a unique tune... good memories. In 2016 Reiketsu released "Ninho de Harpia", an album that transported the band to another dimension. I say this because "Ninho de Harpia" is an album that sounds more post-metal than neocrust or crust (obviously, influences still remain) and this in my view made the band more original and with its own identity. The first two tracks I heard from this record were "Homem-Nada" and "O Inferno em Suas Narinas", these songs are the ones that stand out most in this album (good lyrics too). With regard to the lyrics that are well elaborated, it is worth mentioning that all the songs are sung in Portuguese (plus another merit). To conclude: "Ninho de Harpia" is another highlight of 2016 and deserves to be checked in case you have not heard yet. Long live to Reiketsu!

S.O.T.I.L. - THE PATH OF MASKED TRUTH

S.O.T.I.L. é o nome do novo projeto de Danilo Tomić (Kill The Scum), na qual ele tocou todos os instrumentos e gravou todas as músicas. Este primeiro registro chamado "The Path of Masked Truth" é composto por nove faixas, onde as músicas soam entre o metal e o neocrust (lembrando algumas em certos momentos algumas bandas americanas). Da hora!

S.O.T.I.L. is the name of the new project of Danilo Tomić (Kill The Scum), in which he played all the instruments and recorded all the songs. This first record called "The Path of Masked Truth" consists of nine tracks, where the songs sound between metal and neocrust (reminding at times certain bands of the American scene). Cool!

WILDSPEAKER / CARA NEIR - GUILT AND HIS REFELECTION

Split álbum envolvendo duas bandas texanas. A Wildspeaker que já tem outros lançamentos comentados aqui, dessa vez nos apresenta seis faixas bem legais. A outra banda chamada Cara Neir (se não me engano alguns membros da Wildspeaker tocam nessa banda) criaram músicas  bem chatas e realmente eu não gostei disso. 

Split album involving two bands from Texas. Wildspeaker, which already has other commented releases here, this time plays six cool tracks. The other band called Cara Neir (if I'm not mistaken some Wildspeaker members play in this band) have created really annoying songs and I really don't like it.

BORN FOR SLAUGHTER / MYTERI - SPLIT EP

Ambas as bandas são novas e eu inclusive fiz uma resenha sobre o álbum lançado pela Myteri no ano passado. Bem, Born For Slaughter é uma banda crust metal e com duas músicas deu pra notar que a banda é massa. A banda é pesada, melancólica e agressiva. Eu não gostei do álbum lançado pela Myteri e neste split EP apenas uma canção nova chamada "När Historien Är Bortglömd", a outra faixa está inserida no álbum auto-intitulado. 

Both bands are new and I even did a review on the album released by Myteri last year. Well, Born For Slaughter is a metal crust band and with only two songs I realized that this band is good. This band is heavy, melancholic and aggressive. I did not like the album released by Myteri and this split EP has only one new song called "När Historien är Bortglömd", the other track is part of the self-titled album.
