Hudson's Birthday Festivities

I'm finally getting a chance to blog about Mr. Hudson's FIRST BIRTHDAY. I can't believe it's been a year. His birthday was last Friday on the 22nd. The whole day I kept saying ok now I was at the Dr's getting checked, now I was at home watching Judge Judy and eating a Del Taco salad and labor started, now I was in the hospital and they were wheeling me into have a c-section. I think my family was getting tired of it, but I just wanted to relive every moment because it was one of the best days of my life.

His birthday started by being on Good Things Utah on the first birthdays segment. This is the picture I submitted:



The next day was his big party day. Here is the invite (I took off the details but you get the idea.)


We met at the Park because it was less chaotic that way. The kids played, we had pizza, homemade rootbeer, and cake. We also had a drawing for fun prizes for the kids. It kind of felt like a corporate summer party;)

His first gift was from Aunt Shi Shi (Linzi) since she had to leave early.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Well it was my birthday last week. I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who called, sent letters, emailed, etc. I felt so loved. I had to work, but I did get out and go to lunch with my sisters at Sweet Tomatoes. I love that place. I paced myself and didn't let myself get too full. Then my sister Kristine bought me this shirt but in blue:


I realized that in many of my blogs I'm wearing the same shirt. This is because I bought about 5 shirts after I gave birth. I love them because they fit. My old stuff I don't love because my body changed so much. So thanks to her I have 1 more shirt that you'll be seeing on my blogs.

My sisters also got me my favorite cake Chocolate Rum Cake from "Leslie's Bakery". This was my mom's favorite and I kind of took over the tradition of getting a cake for my b/day.

Paul took me to the Garden at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was so nice to get out. We tried to take some pics but I looked bald because I had my hair back, so you will not be seeing those.

Then we went to Walmart to buy my gift. Paul feels like that is safer than having him get my gift. I didn't know I was so picky;) Well we bought this cool vacuum and some bubble bath. So sad when all you want for your b/day is a vacuum. But its cool because I HATE to sweep so I just pull this out a couple times a day and vacuum all the crumbs from feeding Hudson.




Thanks again to all for making my b/day special. I won't tell you how old I am because frankly I have to figure it out every time someone asks me. All the years have blended together:)

I love Jack!!!

Since I am a contests addict I subscribe to pretty much every radio station. So I got an email from Jack FM to be in on a focus group. The draw was a free gas card. Hey why not. I entered by email and was chosen. Since I hate going places by myself I called and asked if my sister Linzi could come. They said yes! So we travelled down to Trolley Corners and participated in a round table discussion on likes/dislikes about different radio stations, what kind of music we listened to, etc. It was long but fun. At the end instead of a gas gift card we got $30 in cash. Sweet! Plus we each got a random prize. I got $100 to Candessa laser and aesthetics. So I could probably afford a facial or something. Linzi got tickets to Desert Star Playhouse. Not bad for a couple of hours talking in front of strangers. I owe Jack since I won $1000 from them last year. THANKS JACK!!!

PLAY DATE AT THE FARM

A couple of weeks ago my cousin Amy and I took our kids to the Farm at Thanksgiving Point. Hudson did better with the animals than I thought he would.

Ah the fun cousins. They are a year apart. I think they'll grow up to be good friends.

IPOD SHUFFLE

Today I also went to my work party. I of course love the people at work, but I really just go because of the free food and prizes. I was lucky enough to win an IPOD Shuffle. It's purple. Pretty cool.


Oh yea, yesterday I also won breakfast for my team at work from Chick-fil-a/B98.7. I'm not sure when we get it but I thought that was pretty cool. You can enter online on b987.com. I hope no one heard me win because I sounded so dumb. I had no idea why they were calling me. I guess I should write down all the contests I apply for online.

BREAKING DAWN

So of course the big thing of the weekend was the release of Breaking Dawn. I'm not as obsessed as say my sister who went to get it at midnight and took pictures of her and her friend with the book right after they got it, saw models dressed up as bella, edward, and alice at barnes and noble etc etc. I went today on my weekly visit to Walmart. There were plenty of copies there at 10 am. I bought it and then came home and called Linzi said she had already bought it for me for my b/day. So we then took it back to Walmart and on to Costco to buy the book on c.d. for my husband. So we're on about the 2nd chapter and after today I'll have to read it because Paul will have listened to about half of it before the weekend is over. I hope it is as good as I think it will be.
