A Pictureless Post...

Its been a while since a post has made its way onto this page. It might be an even longer while before pictures make their way back... well, maybe I should say portraits make their way back. Anyhow, most of you probably already know, but for those who don't, we're taking a break for a little while. A bit of time to focus on an even broader range of creative education, the 40 hrs. a week we spend behind other people's desks and even some time to just focus on ourselves. Have we gotten sick of photography? Have we given up? The answer to BOTH questions is, "ABSOLUTELY NOT!" As a matter of fact, I'm now at liberty to announce that I have been spending time behind the scenes beta testing for Adobe. Adobe Photoshop CS5, to be precise. As always... the fellows and fellowettes(?) over at Adobe are on top of their game and working their magic fingers to make an awesome program even, well, AWESOME-ER! I'm sure once the product releases, it will yet again hit our check books pretty hard, but seeing is believing and I believe it will be worth EVERY penny.
So again, let me be clear, our passion for photography and digital art has by no means burnt out! We'll be spending time this summer taking LOTS of photos and playing around with them all... but this time, they'll be for our own walls. ;)

Weather Permitting...

So we had a beautiful outdoors shoot all planned out and ready to go... until ... that darn weather man decided to throw a wrench in our Saturday! Luckily for us, Jason, Carrie and Tristan were still troopers. They let us set up shop at their place and we proceed with an indoor session. Granted, we may have missed out on the leaves, but we definitely weren't lacking great-looking subjects! You guys were so much fun and so patient with us (it takes a while to set up a studio, by golly)... we had a great time! As for Pirate Island, well, I'm craving their onion rings at this very moment (they took us out after the shoot, YOU GUYS ROCK)!
Anyhow, we're working on your pics and in our oh-so-humble opinion, we have a lot of excellent ones! Can't wait to show 'em off. :)

A Fun Fall Day with the Wilkinson Family...

We were delighted to get to spend the afternoon with the Wilkinson family! The weather was beautiful and it almost felt too warm to be fall, but alas, the colors were everywhere proving its presence. We had a lot of fun walking around and taking pics of our buddies and their beautiful kiddos. I cannot believe how fast those little babies grow. If I dwell on it too long, it makes me feel old... so enough of that! As always, Lukas had us laughing at the funny things he'd do and say, while his little sister made sure she wasn't forgotten about by using those lungs and then flashing her huge grin! After all was said and done, we made our way over to the Training Table. We all felt we'd worked hard enough to deserve a few dozen cheese fries. Thanks Dan, Brandi, Lukas and Blair for letting us be a part of such a great day. We're so lucky to have friends like you. :)

It's Like Rain On Your Wedding Day...

But fortunately, the rain didn't stick around long enough to ruin Tiff & Wes' beautiful day (although I admit, it did have us pretty worried that morning). The rest of the afternoon and evening was just gorgeous and so was the bride! Don't worry, the groom looked handsome as well. :) Around 3ish, we all got together to do pics of just Tiff and Wes (and by "we all", I mean my hubby and two sisters - it was awesome to have the extra help - Lora even stuck around with Chris and I through the reception and was a kick-butt assistant!). I'm definitely happy with the shots we got. I couldn't just attach one of them because I wanted to include a "Where's Waldo" pic (can you find me?), and I also had to show off the cake decorator's (Lessley Teeples) gorgeous work! Well, now comes the hard part... deciding which ones will go in the album! Will these pics go in? Guess only the Bride and Groom will know, and of course all the people they deem worthy to show their book to. :)

I'm Starving (and yet, I just ate)!

Okay, so maybe I'm not actually STARVING, but my taste buds tell me that I am! We went to Altamont, Utah yesterday to shoot some of Pizarro's tasty food! It... was... AWESOME! I kid you not, this place's menu makes it worth the trip. Not only did EVERYTHING make our mouths water, but when they brought out the "Gerber Burger" - I think our eyes just about popped out of their sockets! HOLY MOLY! That thing is ENORMOUS! Look at it this way - see that TEENY, TINY BABY burger on the far left side? Yeah, the one that looks like a Whitecastle burger? Well, it's not! That one's about the size of a Carl's Jr. Famous Star burger! If that doesn't help you picture the humun-go-ness of this burger, then think about this - it weighs between 7 and 8 lbs. (the same weight as the average human head - THANKS FOR THE INFO JERRY MAGUIRE)!!! As Tony Gerber (owner & head chef) put it, "everyone thinks they can eat it, but it is the same as eating more than 10 quarter pounders with more bun and pastrami and onion rings. Good luck to everyone who tries!!!" WOWZERS! Thanks for having us out Pizarro's! We got some GREAT shots and they're ruining my diet.

Story & Sydney...

Alright, so it's probably because my cousin Tiff is getting married that I had to post this pic. When Story and Sydney came over a couple of weeks ago, their mommies were set on getting pics of the two of them together. I can't help it that this image tugs on my heart strings a bit when I think of the relationship I had and still have with my cousin. Rain and Kass, I have to tell you that I'm so glad you are set on your little girls being the best of friends. I don't know where I'd be without my cousin, Tiff, in my life. I love all my cousins, but there's no denying that Tiff and I have always had something special. Here's to cousins and friends, and the ones that are lucky enough to have cousins that ARE their friends. Love you guys!

Tiff and Wes ROCKED This Session!

Wow - what an amazing couple to photograph! Seriously, these two were so much fun and were up for pretty much anything. We honestly thought we'd never be spoken to again after we made them sit in some empty tunnel thing (who KNOWS what was crawling around in there - okay, MAYBE I'm making it sound a little worse than it really way), but they were just awesome and upbeat the entire time. It was a blast shooting you guys... thanks so much Tiff and Wes! We're really looking forward to the big day!!!
