Missing My Girls

I loved growing up with sisters. We played Barbies, Polly Pockets and pretended we were the brides from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. We talked about boys, danced in the kitchen and shared all of our clothes. My sisters were great examples to me, but we all wanted to be just like our mom. She is a good listener. She laughs at my jokes. She makes me feel special. She is everything I'll ever want to be. I hope one day Katelyn can say that about me. I love you all and miss you a bunch!

Shonna's House

While I work, Katelyn goes to a girl in our ward's house named Shonna. She loves to go and play with her little boy Caleb. It is hard to drop her off each day, but I am so glad I get to take her to Shonna's house. Shonna is so kind to Katelyn. They read books, go on walks, learn sign language and eat a lot cheese and ham out of sandwiches. Thanks Shonna for sending these great pictures. White Coat Ceremony

Devin had his White Coat Ceremony on Monday, signifying him entering into a profession program. It was pretty cool. We were able to get to know a little better the people he will be going to school with and their wives.
Devin sat with his class, so I sat with these girls. (Kasey Bassett, Rachel Adair, Kortney Crowley and me) Kasey and Kortney are in my ward. We have decided that it is nice to be a member of the church and be in dental school. We have a built in support system. I'm sure I'll become great friends with these girls.
After the ceremony, there was a reception. They handed out these non-alcoholic drinks (we asked). Our friends were giving us a hard time about avoiding the appearance of evil. Don't we look to happy to be evil? (They were pretty tasty too!)

Here are Devin and two of his classmates, Chase Crowley and Dan Adair. They both came from Rexburg.

We are so excited for Devin to get going in school. We know it will mean big changes for all of us, but we are happy to be at The Ohio State University.

Cleveland Rocks

Before Devin started school, we went to Cleveland for a little get -a-way. We had a great time. We started at Lake Eerie.

Tanner Girls!

Katelyn likes to hold hands while we walk. She also likes Devin and I to swing her. She would hold my hand and reach for Devin's. She wouldn't walk until he took her hand. Then she would go limp because she wanted us to swing her. She is pretty funny.

We went to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Katelyn was a tired, hungry girl by the time we were done. This is me feeding her a banana on the way. (side story: the other day, Devin went grocery shopping with Katelyn while I was at work. They walked through the fresh food section and Katelyn started yelling, "Anana! Anana!" She had seen the bananas and wanted one.)

On the way home from Cleveland, we swung by Kirtland. It was wonderful. Katelyn was done with tripping by that time, and since Devin had been to Kirtland before, he let me go on the tour and stayed outside with Katelyn. I was so touched by the Spirit on the tour and learned many new things about church history. Thanks Devin!

We really had a fun trip. We'd recommend coming to Ohio to see it yourself (and you can visit us too!)

All Dressed Up

Devin and Katelyn played dress-up while I was at work the other day. She recently has been going to my sock drawer, pulling out the fuzzy sock and wanting to wear them. This time, she also found a neck-tie and belt to go along with the socks. Here are some pictures, though she was very cooperative when Devin pulled out the camera. She still looked pretty cute!

The Taco Bell add on TV is a tribute to my brother Dallin, who thinks Taco Bell food is only second to our Mom's.

Movies

Katelyn watch half of a movie the other day in the bean bag. She had a bowl full of Goldfish Crackers, two sippies and a blanket. She seemed pretty comfortable.

It amazed me how long she sat and just watched. I have some pretty good movies (especially kid's movies), but her favorite surprised me.

Regis and Kelly Update!!

Katelyn at 13 Months

Here are some more pictures. It seems like all of her pictures are in the high chair. I guess it is the best time to take them because she is sitting still!

She had here one year old check up this last week. She was 34 inches long (above the 95%) and weight 22 pounds (70%). She is very healthy and such a good girl. Here are some of her favorite things.

-Katelyn loves to dance. Anytime music comes on she bobs her head or bounces up and down.

-She'll eat just about anything we give her. She especially likes ham, cheese, yogurt, grapes, bananas, hot dogs and pizza.

-She talks all the time and says a lot of words. She can mimic just about anything I say. He newest regular word are out, cheese, book, nose and puzzle.

-She loves to read books! She also can do her two puzzles by herself.

-Her necklaces are still her favorite. She wears them everywhere.

-She is very social. When we are in the grocery store, she says hi to everyone we pass. She usually makes a lot of friends.

-She likes to go to Shonna's house. She learns new things and gets to play with Caleb. When I leave her to go to work, she stands at the screen door to blow me kisses and wave bye-bye. It makes me smile.

-She loves to pray and fold her arms during the prayer.

-She can open our front door, which is a little scary, but we keep it locked during the day so she can't escape.

-She would spend all day outside if she could. Whenever we open the door, she makes a break for it to try and go outside.

-She barks when she see dogs. Even if they are far away, she will point and bark until I acknowledge that there is a puppy.

We are lucky to have such a sweet little girl! She has changed our lives for the better!

Sleepyheads

Katelyn woke up from a nap this last week looking like this.

Her hair was a mess and her clip was just dangling from the front. She looked pretty cute. Looking back at the pictures, it reminded me of a sleepy picture of me when I was about Katelyn's age. I posted it just for my mom who thinks Katelyn doesn't look a thing like me. Mom, doesn't this look a little like Katelyn?
