The sky glowed red at the far end of the horizon, permitting the Sun to release one or more of its godly rays to our world... The air hung around as though it was a dream, yet I knew it was not...
As Saturday arrives, I decide to spread a few feelings on the recent NYPS Founder's Day Dinner. Basically, this dinner was a fresh experience for me for it would be the first time I would be attending my old primary school's founder's day dinner as a old school boy. Sadly, my first impression has been describing the dinner as... unexpectedly terrible...
Update: This is a draft I never meant for to be published but hey, what's the harm?
The sun sets over the Pacific and the darkness of night showers all with doom... Fireworks hit the sky in enthusiasm, soaring above the horde of people below it...
"Time waits for no man" - how right this saying can be. Well, a week or so has passed before us and before I even knew it, I was sitting right in my house enjoying a nice game of Halo 2 with my friends from HCI and RI. Basically, last week I had three tests - Chinese, Literature and Geography, in chronological order. In this blog, I will cover my experience and other miscellaneous events such as Pulsate '05.
On Monday, approximately at 12.10pm, just after our short 10-minute second recess, I rushed up to my classroom with a packet of popcorn chicken for the filling of my stomach. When I had finally gotten to my destination, the tables had been arranged and my classmates were playing (yes, sadly) chapteh. "Ring!Ring!" The Chinese teacher, Mdm Cao Jia Wei, stepped in. Not long after, I was working on the paper that consisted of a test on short Chinese phrases, two cloze passages, two MCQ comprehensions and a short comic strip that we were supposed to interpret. Everything went just fine - I knew the Chinese phrases questions well enough. So, that was my first test...
UPDATE: Really, I never NEVER expected myself to get 1st in the class with a score of 80 pts! Woohoo! Guess I had it in me all along...
Ok, next on - Literature. This term, the test was on Animal Farm. THe question that I picked was related to the seven commandments being a subversion (in layman's terms, opposite) to Old Major's vision of a utopia. This test was relatively easy though I wasted like 5 minutes on the first question (another one) when I saw that I did not need to do two questions - oh wow! how un-observant! Anyway, I wrote quite a bit on each of the commandments - the massacre, the walking on hind legs. Then, I really was seriously annoyed and shocked at the teacher who strolled into the classroom. She asked for those who were attempting Question 2 (the one I was doing) and said that we only had to write on
3 commandments! 3!3!3! What the hell! I was already concluding - this teacher was really well-informed (sense my tone of sarcasm)! Anyway, she (by the way, our English HOD) commented that if we wrote on more commandments, we would be able to receive a higher grade - let's hope so...
Lastly, the Geography test. What can I say? I rushed in the revision process. I only printed the powerpoint slides provided the night before and also spent time searching high and low for the notes she printed and gave to us. Anyway, the Geography test was not done too badly nor, I could say, very well. I discussed the answers with my friends and I know that I have already gotten 2 or so wrong questions. Ah well! What's done is done! There's no need to cry over spilt milk...
Pulsate '05 is a carnival hosted by us on Monday. It was quite well done and I believe some of my blog-viewers were there...
Well, that's all.
