Hair (and sniffles)

Tim has had enough with balding. I also finally gave permission for him to cut his hair shorter.. Right now we have cut his hair with the number 3 for the hair trimmers. I must say that I did pretty well my first two times so far! We originally cut his hair maybe 3-4 weeks ago and redid it last night. While there were no pictures from the first time, I did manage to take a couple last night.

This weekend I have been personally fighting away the sickies. My nose hasn't really been running.. so not too many sniffles. There has been the horrid fever, feeling icky, and the aches from fluid being built up. If it is what has been going around then today should be the worst of it. I definitely hope so!

Birthday!!!!!!

I love birthdays! Especially my own (who doesn't?). I did end up having to go to school on my birthday. The good part is that this year should be the last time that my school gets in the way! I did get the evening off from work so I went straight home after my last class of the day. Before leaving for any activities, Tim had me open my birthday present from him. It was a new phone! A flip phone even. It's amazing how hard it is to find one of those anymore. Now my pockets can't make random phone calls to people (don't feel bad if you never received one because my pocket always called the same handful of people). One time Tim even got a voice message with me tutoring math in the background. My old phone was also dying too so it was time.

That afternoon we went to Baskin Robbins to get my free scoop of ice cream. They had a tasty flavor for February called "Love Potion." Tasty! It was white chocolate ice cream with raspberry sauce and small dark chocolate bits.

After that we went to Big 5 and got me some new shoes. I desperately needed some for working out and playing frisbee. My old ones were falling apart and hurting my feet. Off to the Phoenix Rock Gym from there! We love that place! And it was our first date too :) We spent at least and hour and half trying to climb various walls. The one wall that teases me every time is the one that looks like a brick wall off a castle. One day I will be able to climb that but definitely not now. It is harder than it seems. I did make it up more walls than last time. Tim also got close to scaling one of the walls that has a horizontal section. If we are able to, we are thinking about getting a month's pass during summer so that we can go a lot.

Later that night we met up with our group of friends at Denny's. Our siblings Sarah, Rebecca, and Jared came along too. It was lots of fun and the restaurant was mostly empty so our group didn't make it too crazy there.

Paper

What a dreaded word for me, that and writing. I have a paper due on Tuesday.... I really want to fill you in on birthday festivities but must tackle this huge assignment. Sigh... It's full of gospel questions and I already have somewhat of an outline so hopefully all goes well. Tim says hi!

Favorite Weekend

I admit that I love just about every holiday there is. But this weekend is one of my absolute favorites and always has been! There's plenty of reasons why. I think one of the biggest ones could be that my birthday is the day after Valentines. The decorations are always cute, it's all about love in its many forms, and is just plain fun. I never really felt bitter about Valentines like some people do because I always had my friends and family to give Valentines to. Now I have Tim to celebrate with too :)
Birthday celebrations have already begun with cards and a dinner with my family. It's so weird to say that because they're Tim's family too... With the Blake's? Maybe that'll work. Tim also was a sweetie and had our Sunday School class sing to me because he knows that I love birthdays. I've had a countdown going so when I asked him, "Guess what!" he right away answered, "Your birthday's in 2 days!!!!!!" There will be more this week which you can hear about next time.
Last week I didn't write. Sorry about that! Let's see... School has been getting fun for me with my project for Exercise Prescription. My teacher is having each of us go through the actual process we'll have with clients when we have a job in the field: interviewing, screening, designing a program, etc. He got students from one of his other classes to be our clients. I love it because this is hands-on learning, more than lectures and reading the theories to doing it! My project has turned into a challenge since my client has many medical restrictions. However, this is closer to what it'll be like when I have my internship since the amount of people without any medical issues is diminishing. Sorry if I'm boring you haha but I'm pretty much loving the challenge of actually doing what I learn about (much more than writing about it).
Tim has kept busy...ish. He's gotten to go out and see friends a little bit more this week. He also got an initial job interview this past week and we are waiting to see what happens with that. Waiting, it seems to be a common theme in life. There are many things to wait for, some harder than others. But it always works out best in the end even when it's different :)
