Hard Loss for the Eagles

The Eagles lost the state title game to Cascade Christians 42-35. The Eagles fought hard but just came up short. The boys played their hearts out. Many said it was the best game of the weekend in the Tacoma Dome. I guess it was if you weren't a mother of a player on the team. To see big, tough football players cry, just breaks your heart. Knowing that this was the last time many of these boys would put on their pads and helmets, never to play under the big lights again. I was literally sick to my stomach. We all knew how much the boys wanted the win. But, life goes on and this will be just one of many of life's disappointments that these boys will experience. They will become better men because of it. Still doesn't make it easy. So, now we move on to basketball.....and a wedding.....and Christmas......life definitely doesn't slow down, but I sure wouldn't want it any other way.

Eagles will defend title at Tacoma Dome

Connell defeated Omak 55-21 in a 1A semifinal game at Lampson Stadium in Kennewick on November 27 advancing the Eagles to the State Championship game. The Eagles will play Cascade Christian 10 am on December 4 in the Tacoma Dome for the 1A title. The Eagles defeated Cascade Christian last year 28-7 in the state title game. A win will put the Eagles as the first team in Connell history to win back to back championship games. 1A State Football Semi Finals at Lampson Stadium

The Connell Eagles advance to the Semi-Finals. They play Omak on Saturday, November 27th, 2010 at Lampson Stadium at 4 pm. A win will advance the Eagles to the Dome playing for a back to back State Championships! The Eagles played an AMAZING game Saturday to defeat the Chelan Goats 41-6. Great job Eagles and Coaches!

Happy Birthday Kraymer

Kraymer turns 18 today! I can't believe it. I sure wish time would slow down just a bit. Kraymer is a great young man. He is always positive and has a great attitude about everything, even when he is faced with trials. He is the football loving, scripture reading, BYU acceptance hoping, enormous amount of food eating, peacemaking young man in our home. Happy Birthday Kramdawg! We LOVE you!

**Connell Eagles defeated Hoquiam 56-14 last Saturday. The Eagles now play Chelan Saturday 11/20 in Moses Lake at 1 p.m. in the quarter finals. Go Eagles!

A Taste of His Own Medicine

Every family has one. The mischievous child that was just born that way. The child that lives to torment their mother. The child that thinks he is funny by hiding his mother's favorite jeans and iphone. The child that apparently doesn't realize that the mother always gets the last laugh. My friend emailed this adorable picture and it is way too cute not share. Does his face just not scream "I AM MISCHIEVOUS" So for all of you young mothers that hope that your mischievous child will grow out of it....sorry, probably not going to happen.

Pick Six

It finally happened. The "pick six" that Kade has been hoping for. A defensive back's dream - an interception then running it back for a 36 yard TD. Kade had a ton of fun Friday night. Three interceptions in all AND an "unsportsmanlike" penalty for "excessive celebration in the end zone." Ha. Funny stuff. He was so happy he just couldn't control himself he said. The official warned him that if he got another penalty he would be out for the next two games. Kade told us later he was nervous the remainder of the game that he wouldn't be able to control himself again if he got another TD. The entire football team is playing great and continues to work hard. Connell Eagles defeated Naches Rangers 58-6. Go Eagles! (Thanks to Mr. Gerson for capturing these photos!)

Shayne & Kortneigh's Engagement Pics

Shayne's brother, Daryl, took these engagement pictures for Shayne and Kortneigh yesterday afternoon in Orem. I think they turned out great and most importantly Kortneigh LOVES them. The engagement pictures is what has worried me the most in the whole wedding planning process. Kortneigh is soooo critical of herself in pictures. She always grabs the camera after pictures have been taken of her and starts deleting the ones right away the she doesn't like! Now, I think they will have a hard time deciding which one to choose. Here is just a small sampling of the sweet, soon to be married couple.

League Champs!

Connell Eagles defeated the Riverview Panthers Friday night 46-17 to secure the SCAC East League Champs title. The Eagles play Naches Friday night in Connell in the first round of playoffs. Go Eagles! Alan and Kraymer - OJH 2005

CHS Football 2010

Here we go. Full swing into football season with the playoffs and League Championship in sight. Connell Football at its best - a team of hardworking, dedicated boys giving it their all in hopes of back to back State Championships. It just doesn't get any better than watching the "Boys of Fall" on a Friday night. Connell Eagles defeated the Royal Knights last night 50-14. Kaitlan, Kortneigh and Shayne made a quick trip from BYU for the weekend to watch Kraymer and Kade and the big rival game. Here are a few pics from the night. Kraymer 8, Kade 9.

Karigan & CHS Vollebyball 2010

Karigan LOVES Volleyball. She has really enjoyed this season. She has a great coach and great teammates that she has lots of fun with. She is an outside hitter and has a killer serve. Her love for volleyball came at an early age. She was drug around as child watching her older cousins and sisters play. Karigan has high hopes for her team. Kaitlan and Kortneigh's Senior year with CHS Volleyball (2008) took 2nd in State and of course she would love to beat that! If you haven't seen a Varsity Volleyball game yet this season, you should. They are AMAZING...Go Eagles!
