CHS Track

Karigan had a great season in Track. She made it to districts in the Javelin and Shot and made it to State in the shot. She had lots of help making in there from CHS coaches, and good friends Coach Mackay and T. Brook.

Spring Break

We spent spring break at the cabin. It was beautiful weather with snow still on the ground. Shayne had double jaw surgery so he and Kortneigh and Bree couldn't come with us.

 

Sand Hill Cranes

We had cows on our farm over the winter grazing on the corn that had been planted then harvested. They were a pain because they were always getting out and found their way to our yard and their owner didn't seem to care...Anyway, after the cows were gone I noticed that there was something else out there grazing. They were huge and looked like sheep far away, until one flew up.  haha  After a few days of research and inquiry, we found they were sandhill cranes. They enjoyed the corn for weeks :)

Easter 2013

We had a lovely Easter. We are so grateful for Jesus Christ; his life, ministry, resurrection and atonement for each of us. Easter morning we woke up early before church to find that the Easter Bunny had found our nests,filled our baskets and hid plastic eggs filled with candy and money all over the yard! We went to church and then to Aunt Jan's for dinner with her family. It was so nice of them to invite us. From their we went to Tennelle's house for the annual Edler egg hunt and dinner. We had the truck loaded with four wheelers and headed for the cabin for a few days for spring break with a few friends.

Karigan had a fun night with some of her friends :) The dance was on a Friday night so the kids had practice then went to town to Red Robin then back to the school for the dance.

Miss Connell Scholarship Program

Karigan participated in the Miss Connell Scholarship Program. She had a wonderful time. It was a TON of work but she loved every minute of it. Aunt Jan, Beverly and Janae Calaway were a huge help to her. It began in January and the final performance was March 16. The selflessness and time donated of those in charge of this program was unbelievable. There were 12 contestants and everyone did a great job. Here are a few pictures documenting the night.

We found this beautiful sleeveless dress and then had our seamstress friend put sleeves on. It was a process getting it just right but she did a really great job we think.

Happy Birthday Karigan! I can't believe my baby is 17. Holy smokes. We had a little party while Kaitlan was here for jr miss/baby shower. It was fun. Karigan is a very confident young woman with a kind heart who loves her family very much. We love you Kari Jo! Happy Birthday!!

 

 

 

 

Baby Bree

Baby Bree made her debut, February 19, 2013. She is the sweetest, tiniest little girl. Bree, her mommy and Daddy are all doing great! They are natuals and have picked up on the parenting thing nicely. We LOVE having them here with us. It has been a wonderful treat.  The only downfall is fighting over who gets to hold her next. Grandpa has had a kink in his neck and we finally figured out it's because he is holding Bree so much! Being a grandparent is kind of neat :) We love you baby Bree!

Holy cow!!! I honestly feel like I’m in an oven! It is so hot!!! I started to sweat after 10 feet off the plane. The lady that I sat by was really cool so she walked me through the airport and customs and helped me get my bags, so I was the first missionary out of the airport. I just met a few MTC workers outside. So right now I think there are 37 missionaries here, possibly more but there are only three white people two from US and then one from Australia, most of them are from DR of Congo and Nigeria. My comp is from Liberia but he isn’t here right now, so I’ll meet up with him later tonight I guess. We ate lunch and dinner here at the MTC and so far it’s been good! We had rice with chicken for lunch and then spaghetti with this spicy sauce on it. The drivers here are so crazy!! It’s scary, they will just pass you on the ride side of the road even if there is no road haha and there isn’t any speed limit signs so everybody goes fast. I’m glad I don’t have to drive here. The MTC is really nice except on the bottom floor and in the hallways because there is no Ac so it’s just as hot as outside. Or rooms aren’t too hot but it’s going to take a long time to adjust too! Accra has most the roads paved and lots of old cars, but once you get out of the big city then the roads are really crappy and practically dirt roads. Well I have class so I’ll email again later. The Best Two Years Begin

And he's off... Kade was ready for his missionary service to begin. His mother and sisters weren't quite as eager. You would think sending a second missionary off would be easier but it's not. My friend said it best as a joyful torture. You know it's what's best but it's still hard. I try not to dwell on all the what if's of disease, danger and going without food but of unselfishly sharing the happiness of the Gospel and inviting all to come unto Christ. We have experienced the wonderful blessing of having one missionary serving, I can't imagine the blessings of having two. Kade has been preparing all his life for this day to begin and now it's here. We love you Elder Eppich. Let the best two years begin.

 

Kade left PSC at 6:25 am enroute to SLC. He had a 2 1/2 hour layover there then headed to JFK. He had many well wishes along the way. Everyone loves to see a missionary. One couple even recognized him from the LDS.org new curriculum training videos. I talked to him on the phone both in SLC and JFK for a few minutes. He sounded great and happy!

Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas. Better late than never I guess. Man I stink at blogging lately. Hopefully I can do better. I have so many things that I don't want to forget for journaling purposes.

I love the Christmas season. I always want to be organized and have shopping done early so that we can bake, Christmas carol and serve others....at least my intentions are good. ha The Christmas season just makes me want to be better all year long. I am happier when I am doing things for other people.

Christmas was different this year with Kraymer gone but it was still great having everyone else home. Family is a wonderful thing. Our lives would be so incomplete without our family.  The BYU kids all had three weeks off from school. They got home mid December, so it was great. We enjoyed framily traidtions of games, caroling, eating, baking, movies, bowling, lots of parties and just being together.

We looked forward to Christmas Day so we could skype Kraymer!! I could make myself cry just thinking about seeing and talking with him. He was an hour late skyping and I was so nervous. But when we finally got to see him I didn't cry at all. He was just so happy and peaceful I couldn't even be sad. He is where is suppose to be and where he wants to be.

This is Kade's last Christmas at home before he leaves for two years to Africa. Kade thought he was going to get the traditional missionary gifts, which he did, but Santa surprised him with a Callaway golf bag for his Callaway clubs and a full body massage from Nouveau. He loves Santa. The blue plunger will be Kade's new best friend for the next two years. It will make washing his clothes by hand 100x easier in Africa. Kade is use to his mother and sisters washing his clothes (and doing everything else for him for that matter) Karma is a wonderful thing :)

 

This year was the first year we didn't spend Christmas Day at the cabin. We have limited internet service there and wanted to make sure we were able to skype Kraymer. We headed up a couple of days after Christmas with Garrett and Jilayne's family, Sarah and Dexter and Karl and Kathi and Nate. We had so much fun! There was so much snow! We had a great time playing games, snowmobiling and sledding.
