Casa Grande Ruins

Last week we visited the Casa Grande Tuins in Coolidge, AZ. It was neat to look at all the artifacts in the museum and we even got a good view of the inside of the house. It is really amazing that the Hohokam indians built this huge building with such limited resources, being that they lived in the desert.

Chicken wire, huh? Didn't know they had chicken wire in the desert way back then.

St. George Trip

Since Erik has a free summer for probably the last time in his life, we took a trip up to St. George last weekend for father's day and for Makayla's 10th birthday. I was a bit leery about going up there since we have little Gabie, but he was great the whole trip and especially for the drive to and from-he just slept.
It sure is nice to have grandparents to babysit! Erik and I were able to go swimming, shopping, four-wheeling while my mother-in-law babysat. We also enjoyed showing Gabriel off. I'm not sure if its because we are in the primary and not too many people knows us or that there are just sooo many kids in our ward, but my in-law's ward was so much more excited to see Gabie than ours ever was! Anyway, it was a nice break to get away for awhile.

Bubble Butt

My mother-in-law gave me a bunch of cloth diapers in case I run out of disposables or want to "save money". Well we used up the pack of disposables on Sunday morning so I figured we could try the cloth ones. For the life of me I don't know why anyone in with any reasoning skills would willingly use cloth diapers. They are time consuming and a huge pain to put on, you actually spend more money on energy and water because you have to clean them, and it scares me using sharp pins so close to baby's belly. Worst of all, it makes baby look like he has a huge bubble butt!

Shots!

A few days ago Gabriel got his shots. He hated them of course-who enjoys having 5 needles jabbed into their thighs? At least he got some cool band aids. Needless to say that evening was not very fun for us and especially for Gabie. He'd fall asleep and then two minutes later would wake up screaming. We finally gave him some baby Tylenol (which we should have done before the shots) and he calmed right down and slept through the whole entire night!
Along with getting his shots at the peds appointment, Gabriel got his routine weighing and measuring. He is now 24 1/2 inches and 13lbs 8 oz...which puts him in 90th percentile for height and weight! No wonder his 0-3 month clothes don't fit. He is such a big, cute, and happy baby boy!
