IR Outing #7 @ Singapore Botanic Garden (23rd Sep 2007)

It has been long since I organise any InfraRed Outing due to our IR Exhibition and also my studies and so on. After a long break, I find that it is time for me to get the outing running again before I take another break from organising to focus on my studies.

20. swimcraze - Nicole (Nicole brought along her compact to try out IR. I loan her my 77mm filter at first but later then I realise that Teerex got a 52mm spare. So she lead Teerex's filter so that I can do some IR shooting.)

The turn-up was really great today, really a big group of us. Ok, just to share some of my humble shots taken today. I didn't capture much as I got to attend to those who are joining us for the first time. Maybe other time when I go to do some exploration myself, then I will get more shots. Anyway, here it is. MAEAA Annual General Meeting

Just finished my MAEAA (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Alumni Association) AGM which is held in NTU MAE Multi-Purpose Room. I got to make a trip down to NTU to attend to this meeting. There were only 4 of the members present for today's meeting namely Sui Soon, Simon, Ethan and myself.

In the midst of the meeting, we do side-track a bit to talk about other things and some of the topic that we discuss about are rather interesting. We talked about work, career and success. Just to share some of interesting words of wisdom.

Success is not Happiness, Happiness is Success.

Look for a career, not a job.

These words of wisdom may be simple, but the meaning behind are quite profound. Think about it. Cheerz.

Congrats to Jamie, Alvin and their Lovely New Baby Girl Anise

I just keep forgetting to update such an important post, guess the M7802 Research Module is really getting on my nerves.

Firstly, I will like to extend my heartfelt congrats to Jamie, Alvin and their new born baby girl Anise who arrived on Thursday (27-Sept-2007) at 1:39pm. Both the mother and baby are doing fine and I went to Mount Alvernia Hospital earlier this evening to visit them. Really felt happy for them.

For those who like to visit Jamie and her baby girl Anise can still go to Mount Alvernia Hospital. She and her baby should be discharging this Sunday. For those who need her Ward Number and bed, please contact me, Alvin or Jamie. Thanks.

Out of the Blue

I did something today that I haven't do for a long time, which is... SHOPPING.

Well, not shopping for photographic equipments (I do that most of the time) but for clothes. I haven't do any shopping for clothes since a very long time. All thanks to the advices from Adrian and Adrian (Both Adrian Eng and AJ). I decided to change my wardrobe for once.

I met up with Adrian (not AJ) at Bugis this evening to start my wardrobe rescue mission. We shopped for quite a bit and I decided to take whatever Adrian recommend and also what I feel comfortable in. We went to LP Zone, Samuel & Kevin, FreshBox and Natural Project. I bought 2 T-shirts, 1 Polo-Tee, 1 Long Sleeve Shirt, 1 Jeans and 1 Cargo Pants, all for below $200.

Throughout the shopping, I accept what Adrian choose for me, but there are 2 type of fashion which I feel doesn't suits me. First is the V-neck cutting for those T-Shirt (Without collar), I felt that it looks really weird on me. Next is those straight cut jeans, it just doesn't feels right. I guess I am not suitable for these 2 fashion...

It is really a shopping spree and Adrian will bring me to shop in Orchard next time round. I guess let me get comfortable with all these new clothings first. To change my fashion sense and style for once... KIV for a new me... I hope...

Spread too Thin

I am really drained out for the last few days so I didn't really wanted to blog much. Just a brief update, I have been working on my Research Module for my Engineering Measurements which has taken up most of my time. I still got another Continuous Assignment to work on. On top of that, I still got my revision to do and also my normal day job to work on, which out of sudden, taken a new turn. Geez...

I have been running around laboratories, doing experiments, typing reports and so on. Really tiring. Felt like I had been spread too thin. I really needed a good break...

In the Mood for Multiple Entries

Just finished my revision for my Engineering Measurements. I still got a long way to go but I decided to call it a day for revision.

I got lots of things to blog about, so do bear with my multiple blog entries. It is mostly on my thoughts, my perspective of things, my life story and so on.

Hope that it will be meaningful in some sense. Enjoy.

Life is a Bus Journey

Happen to see that HuiRong mentioned about this story that I was relating to her some time back about Life as a Bus Journey. I do not claim credit for this analogy. It was my good friend, my good brother Vincent who taught me about this.

Let me summarized the whole analogy "Life is just like a bus journey with you being the driver of your own bus. When you reaches one stop, some people will come into your life and become your friends, but some people will get down as they reaches their own destination. Well, this is life I guess, just have to let go."

Sometime, things in life are beyond our control at times. Let me share some life story with you. During my Poly-days, I was the class representative for 2 and a half years. Even after we graduated, I still uphold my duties and responsibilities as a class rep to update the contact list for the class for another 5 years. During those time, I will call them up, update the class list and send out Christmas card. Vincent and Ian will always scold me and try to make me see the logic. Those who wished to stay in touch will do so by themselves, there is no need for me to do it. Those who reaches their destination will alight from my bus, if they wish to stay on my bus, they will update me instead of me trying to search high and low for them. It was after then that I stopped updating the class list. In fact, only a few true friends stay behind which is of course Ian and Vincent.

Another life story, this one is more recent. After my uni graduation, I can sense a drift of my friends as some of them start to avoid those gatherings and so on. These group of friends have brave through thick and thin, CAs, projects, quizzes and exams together. At the end of this journey, when the destination is reached. Some of these comrades-in-arm just disappear. I do felt disappointed, but whenever I think of what Vincent told me, it is part and parcel of life, I just learnt to let go and be happy. Who knows, our path might cross again... Until then...

Anyway, I like to dedicate this post to Leanna whom I read about on HuiRong's blog. Hope that you are feeling much better. Take care. Cheerz.

Tears In Her Eyes

Happened to see this entry on Adrian aka AJ's blog which is really interesting as we both exhibit similar thinking. It really set me thinking for quite a long while as I got tons to write about.

I got a soft spot for gals that cry also. If I know the person, I will try my best to stop her from crying. One good example who I can think of, that can voucher for this, is Jamie. Anyway, that is not the main point that I wanted to talk about.

To me, any gal who cried will tugged a cord in my heart whether I know that person or not. It will hurt me most if that person is someone who I know, someone who I care/concern about and most of all, someone I love.

As a man, I can endure pain and hardship but nothing hurts me more than the tears in the eyes of a woman, just like an arrow piercing right through my heart. Sometime, when I see a woman on the street crying, I really wanted to go fro and offer her some tissue to dry her eyes but most of the time, I held back myself...

I always believe that a man should never let a lady/woman/girl cry. Even though this is my firm believe, I had failed to uphold this principle before and it has been haunting me for quite a long time before I learn about things and to slowly forgive myself recently.

For those whom I care about, whenever you felt lost, sad or down, as you slowly let the hot tears flow out, I hope to be there to dry your eyes before the next teardrop fall. I don't know what I can do to make you feel better, I don't know if you trust me well enough to share the burden that is weighing you down. But if you need a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, I will be there. Like as in my blog title says it all, just let me be your shelter...

Too Smart for Myself

Ok, this entry is to kick myself at the back. HuiRong send me an MSN to do an online test to gauge how well I know her and so I did. I did only reasonably well only with an original score of 53 out of 100 (if you check her scoreboard now, it is 86, ok I cheated :P)

That is not the main part to kick myself. The main part is a question of her dimples. Huirong got this cute dimple at one side of her face (she got dimples at both side but there is one side which makes it her trademark dimples smile). I tried recalling which side is her dimple and from her pictures, I thought that it was on the left hand side which in fact is on her right. Damn, I really deserve to get kick for getting this simple question wrong because I keep thinking from the photos perspective. Really a stupid mistake I made. Argh...

No Time for Myself

I have been running around to settle things and don't really have time to do my own things.

On Saturday morning, I went back to Hougang Ave 5 to visit my mother before proceeding to Beach Road to get a jacket for my project. I can't believe I still have to carry with my work on Saturday. Argh...

After that, I went to the barber to trim my hair before coming back to do my house chores such as ironing and mopping. I took a short nap before meeting Vincent for dinner.

Vincent came to stay overnight with me last night since my house is vacant and empty. It is good to have visitors to my house. We chatted until 3am before we fell asleep.

This morning, I have to go down to PSS to help out in the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple contest judging. I have to mount the photos for the judging which is happening tomorrow. After that, I have to rush down to Spotlight at Plaza Singapura to get some material for my work (again... Argh...).

At around 7:15pm, I met up with Adrian and his girlfriend for dinner before I head back home. I felt really drained out. Ok, time for my shower and some laundry. Good night everyone. Cheerz.

A Minute of Remembrance

I never really wrote about this on my blog as I usually don’t like to share my sorrow and sadness with others. It has been close to one year since my grandma passed away. She had passed away peacefully on 23rd September 2006 on a Saturday night. I still can remember clearly that night of her passing. I couldn’t help but to weep as I am typing this. I miss her.

My Muscles are Aching

Ok, not a good title to start off with, but that is seriously how I am feeling now. Geez... I have been going to gym for the last 3 days. Ok, a bit of a long story here so please bear with it.

Using the newspaper article as a reference, my team is developing a system to measure some vital statistics for human movement. We are working with the Biomechanics lab in NIE as they got more proper equipment to do the testing. The NIE side are currently conducting some drop test experiment and Kwang Yong, Dong Wei and I volunteer to be the test subjects. We did the drop jump 2 weeks back and the results were recorded. After the jump, we are to go for an intervention training to train our leg muscles for the next 6 weeks before conducting another jump.

The training is conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 3 types of leg exercises are performed, the Leg Curl, Leg Extenstion and Leg Press. The load of the training is 80% of the maximum weight that we can take and that is really heavy I can say.

We started off the training starting this Monday, today is the 2nd session and I can feel the muscles in my legs aching. To make it worse, I have not been exercising since one month back when I caught the flu bug. Although my nose is still a bit of leaky, I still head to the NTU Alumni Club gym last night to sweat it out. I felt that my stamina had drop quite a bit, time to resume training again.

So after 3 days of continuous exercises, I just don't feel like moving my legs anymore. Hope that it will recover before Friday before the next session. 5 more weeks of training to go. Geez...

On The Straits Times Home H3

For some reason, Kwang Yong and I was featured on The Straits Times Home Section today.

I didn't know until Jonathan (PandaOng) SMS me said that he saw my face on the papers today. At first I thought it was related to the IR Exhibition but I think otherwise as the Exhibition was already over. I asked him for what reason was I featured and he mentioned something related to NTU. I was thinking that it might be related to the Alumni or what. So I grab a copy of The Straits Times today to view the article. It was actually related to the A-Star project that I was working on.

The article never describe much about my project but just showcase a photo of me and Kwang Yong. Geez...

Anyway, Jon was kind enough to scan the whole article for me. I did a screen capture and share with my viewers. Be advice, do not proceed unless you want to see an USM. Hahaha...

Backdate from 14th Sept to 16th Sept

The time now is 1:32am on 17th Sept 2007 morning. Usually I should be feeling really tired and will be on my bed sleeping, but yet I feel very much awake now although I was feeling very sleepy during the afternoon.

Maybe I will take some time to do my backlog for the last 3 days of happening.

14th Sept 2007 (Friday)

Today is really an action and activities packed day. My schedule is packed from morning until the wee hour of Saturday morning. I woke up really early this morning as I need to go in to my lab early to settle some part of the experimental results so that we can submit it to the ICRA conference paper.

At around 10am, Kwang Yong, Dong Wei and I have to head over to NIE side to do some leg muscle testing for our drop jump experiment. The testing is no fun as we are to support 2 times our own body weight which is dropped onto us so as to measure the strength of our knees. The 3 of us really had hurted our shoulders and backs during the testing. Geez...

After testing, we are to continue writing our paper. I need to leave early today as I am meeting Peng Eik and other Nikon users for a short meeting at 6pm and I got a meeting with Mr Goh Kim Hui from PSS at 7:30pm and I stayed for his photo clinic session and left at around 10:15pm.

I head over to Adrian's (my primary and secondary school friend) house to play his Playstation 2 as we haven't meet up for quite a while. Clement was there also and so we played until 2am in the morning before Adrian drove us back home. Really a tiring and packed day.

15th Sept 2007 (Saturday)

I got a model shoot with Maurice this morning at 8:45am. I was feeling really tired as I only slept for less than 6 hours since I arrived home 2am this morning and I woke up at 6:30am. Another reason is that I might have substain slight injury on my back when doing the leg muscle test at NIE.

No matter how tired I am, I still attend this shoot as Adrian aka AJ (yes, this is the Adrian who is Ian's and Theo's friend, I think I will address him as AJ from now on.) is joining Maurice shoot for the first time, it will be great to have someone you know to shoot with you. Another reason is that this will be officially my last model shoot as I will be taking a short break to study for my exams which is exactly 2 months away.

It has been an enjoyable photo shoot with 3 lovely models and also with the company of some fellow photographers whom I know such as Adrian (of course), Arthur and so on.

As of again, since I don't have any landscape photos to share this week. I will just showcase a bit of my humble model shoot photos. The same rules will always apply and I mean it. Unless you are the model or the organiser for the shoot (Maurice that is), you can't use these photos without my permission. If you are the model subject and will like to get the photos, just drop me a message on my tagboard. I will see what I can do for you. :) Just in case if anyone of you saw that my pictures been leeched by other people other than those that I granted the permission or saw that my pictures are posted in other forums or so on, please inform me. Some after thought for this shoot. I didn't get some of the shots I really wanted. Well, the weather is not really that good and also miscalculation on my side. The location is really where I always wanted and the models are really great. Maybe I was worn down by fatigue, so I wasn't performing at my peak. Maybe after exams, I will like to redo this shoot again. Hmm...

Ok, so much for model shoot. After the shoot, the time is around 1:15pm. I was supposed to meet John (one of my lab mates) at Bugis MRT as he wanted me to bring him to get a dSLR. I brought him to TK Foto to let him choose what he want. I actually recommend a D40X at first as I was considering on a budget for him. But I guess I had influenced him too much with my D200 that he wanted to get a D80 instead. That is really a bold move.

After buying the camera, I spent the next few hours teaching him about the basis of photography and how to operate his D80 so that he can get some good photos when he is in Arizona to present his conference paper. Well, hope to see his photos so that I can also plan for a trip there.

We parted at around 6pm as he got to attend to a function and I also have to go and help out with the IR Exhibition as today is the 2nd last day. I stayed with the rest and when for dinner at around 8:30pm. During dinner, I then remembered, other than the chocolate bar that Adrian gave me when he was buying some drink at 7-11 which is after the model shoot, that dinner was my first proper meal for the day. Oh my...

16th Sept 2007 (Sunday)

Today is the last day of the IR Exhibition and I was there early to do the opening. I waited for the rest to arrive as I need to attend to Melanie's birthday lunch at 1pm, at Teochew Seafood resturant which is located inside Centrepoint.

After lunch, Peter, my sis and my cute little nephew Derwent came with me to the library to see our IR Exhibition. It is great that they can come down to support me. :)

After that, I stayed throughout the exhibition with the rest of the IR Regulars until the closing of the libary which also marks the end of our first IR Exhibition.
It has been really a tiring day.

Wow, can't believe it, I have finished backdating 3 days of activities within the last hour. Hmm... Ok, time for bed, good night everyone. Thanks for reading.

Closing of IR Exhibition

Sorry for the lack of update as I have been quite busy for the last 4 days. I will try to do a backlog when I can.

After 3 weekends and 10 weekdays (16 days in total), the IR Exhibition was closed 4 hours ago. It had been a busy, yet fun period. It is like the longest time whereby the IR Regulars meet up so regularly and joke and have fun whenever there is a chance. Really going to miss the fun especially today after the closing. I laughed until I was nearly out of breathe.

I sure do hope that there will be another chance for us to hold another exhibition together. It has been a really good exposure and experience especially when we can meet up with other photographers and also to share with others about our passion, IR Photography.

Anyway, I will really like to thank all those who make their way down for the exhibition especially for the last few days. I must thank CheeKeong, Ah Chan, Andrew and friends, Nicolette and all those whom I might have missed out. Thanks for showing your support.

Feel the Guilt

Nothing serious actually. Was browsing the Clubsnap landscape section and saw some of the beautiful landscape which make me feel the guilt as I haven't been shooting IR or landscape for quite a while due to my flu and also the IR Exhibition. To top that off, I had been joining model shoot for the last few times which is not common as portrait/fashion photography is not my cup.

I am going to have one more model shoot this coming Saturday. Hope that it is the last one as I wanted to take a break to start revision for my Master's coursework. It might take me another 4-6 months before I join the next shoot again. Oh well, who knows...

Hobbies Meme

Got tag by Ian to start a Hobbies Meme quite some time back but still haven't get to work until today. Hehe...

As opposite to Ian or Theo, I don't have lots of hobbies to start off with over the years until recent time when I started photography, I was very passionate about it. Well, maybe it is the fact that I got more time since I am on the road of singlehood or maybe that I have found a way to express my feelings, thoughts and emotion through photography. Anyway, more of that later. Let us start shall we...

Collecting Stamp (1989 - 1994)
I used to stay with my cousins as some may know and my cousins used to collect a lot of stamps and first day covers. As they grew older, their interests changes and so the collection of stamps ended up with me. I still have a 1978 First Day Cover for ASEAN game somewhere in my drawer if I remembered correctly. As time move on, collecting stamp is not the IN thing any more.

Fishing (1993-1995)
The branch of friends that I hang out with love to do fishing and I remembered that my cousin got 2 fishing rods and fishing gear at home and so this started my hobby of fishing. I quite enjoy fishing as it trains the patience to wait for the fish. Many a time, I didn't catch any fish but I certainty enjoy the company of my friends as we cook Maggie Mee over solid fuel and so on.

Reading (1992-Now)
Reading has been one of my long time hobby. I got tons of books at home and now I even got my own photography library. Not much I can talk about except that I haven't been reading any Chinese books since after I leave my secondary school.

Listening to Music (1992-Now)
I remembered the first time I was playing with my cousin's hi-fi set at home and tuning in the 98.7FM. The music at those time were great, that inspire me to get my own music on the go, the walkman. I got my first walkman by saving up all my red packet money and I start to record my own tape compilation of music I like.

As time changes, I moved from walkman to discman and slowly, I shifted listening to the radio such as Class95 FM. The discman will always be with me where-ever I go. Slowly, technology changes and now, I have my own MP3 player with a collection of songs. I love listening to music as it can soothe my mood and set me thinking at times.

Photography (2004-Now)
I always wanted to get my own camera for a long time as I keep seeing my cousins changing compact camera every once a while. I got my first prosumer camera before I go for my US training trip. At that time, I still knows nuts about photography. On my way back to Singapore, I stop by Japan for a 3 days tour, it was then that I came to realise that I am not using my camera to the max. Then I start to look up on the internet for more information about photography, that was when I came across Clubsnap forum. I was looking through the galleries and I happened to come across the InfraRed Photography forum. The IR photos looks really cool and I love the effect.

After saving for a while, I decided to bite the bullet and invest on my first dSLR, the Nikon D70s. Slowly, I join photography courses and a lot of outings, that was how I came to know my IR kakis, photographers peers and model friends.

About a year ago, things on my personal front suddenly took a turn which push me to focus more on photography so as to take my mind off things and keep me occupied. Slowly, photography has now become my biggest passion as I have found peace through this hobby of mine. I want to express my thoughts, emotions and feelings through my photos. Not only that, I want to use it to bring happiness and joy to the people around me.

Blogging (2006-Now)
All thanks to Charlotte and Ian for introducing me to the world of blogging. I started a blog in 2004 (Charlotte introduce me to it first) but I didn't really get serious about it until like the start of 2006. I started the blog initially to share my photos collection, but slowly, my blog has become a place for me to express my thoughts, feelings and emotions and also to communicate with my friends. Of course, I must thank Theo for giving me advice on how to add music on my blog and so on as I really know nuts about blogging. Well, to date, I still not very good with it.

Wow, finally completed this Hobbies Meme after 2 days of typing. Took me quite a while to finish it. Alrighty, time for my shower and off to bed. Good night everyone.

My Second Lab Supervision Duty in a Row

Ok, the time now is 8:11pm and I am still in my lab working. Really another busy day for me as I got to do some drop jump experiment in the morning and take another class of students for lab in the afternoon which leave me no time to do some proper work until late afternoon. Anyway, this is the second lab supervision duty that I have in a row. For the next 6 weeks, this will be part of my duties and the good thing is that I am getting paid extra for this. Hehe...

The only setback is that I need to manage my time well as I need to cope with my studies, normal day research work and also this extra duty. Really a busy start of a week for me.

Today's lab is again related to vibration. I talked to the students about the effect of vibration and the use of a Tuned Absorber. The experiment is quite tedious as there are a lot of data points to be captured, that is why I can't release the students earlier.

It is really an interesting experience as you never know what will the students asked you about. I will try my best to impart my knowledge to them and to share with them whatever I know. I still got 6 more weeks to go, so wish me luck.

My First Lab Supervision Experience

It has been a really busy day for me as my schedule was packed from morning till night. During the afternoon, I will be taking a small group for a lab project. Just to share some of my thoughts for my first time experience as a lab supervisor.

I have always dreamt of imparting or sharing knowledge and skills with other people, that was what inspire me to be a lecturer. Today was my first chance and experience as a laboratory project supervisor. I was assigned to take a group of students for lab project and I must tell them my expectation and so on.

At first, I thought that it will be easy as I can skip the theory part as the lecturer should have cover the topic in his lecture. However, unexpectedly, there is a change in the teaching schedule and the topic that I am taking for the lab project (it is a Vibration project) will only be covered after the term break.

I have long forgotten about Vibration and I must teach the theory before starting the experiment. Luckily that I kept some of my handwritten notes which helps in explaining some of the theories. Above that, I told them my requirements for submitting the reports and so on.

Along the way, I chit chat with the students and I shared some of my working experience with them. It is very interesting experience as I love to share with others.

Anyway, I will be taking another lab tomorrow, got to sleep early then. Good night.

Today... One Year Ago... It was when...

it all started. I don't know even should I ever start this post. How should I begin...

Maybe a slight side-track from my busy schedule for the last few days and take a good look at myself. Time for some self-reflection and looking back...

For many couples, today is a good and special day, why? Because it is the 9th of September which means double 9. Some of the meaning behind this auspicious number is ever-lasting love,forever and ever kind of meaning.

To me, today marks the day when it all started, when my life started to change. It was exactly one year ago, on this date that I lost someone whom I held special in my heart and begin my singlehood lifestyle...

The journey for the last one year had not been easy but now that I am cut free and allowed to pursue what I want to do. I finally found peace and happiness in myself. I am thankful that I got my friends around me, my family members to support me and of course, I am thankful that I pick up photography.

I now fully devote myself to photography. Photography is now my passion, for it not only bring me joy but happiness to the people around me.

Sorry for the down tone of this post. If this post don't make any sense at all, it doesn't matter any more. I post this as a reminder to myself, to let go and move on. Stay joyful and make all those around you happy.

2nd Weekend for IR Exhibition

Just a slight backdating as I have been very busy for the last few days. Where should I start... Maybe let's start from Friday then.

7th September 2007 (Friday)

I slept really late last night (Thursday) as my lectures is on every Thursday night and by the time I reached my home, it is like 11:30pm. I still got to do my laundry and iron my clothes and so on. Besides that, I was working on my Engineering Measurements Continuous Assignment 1 which is really tricky. I was looking at the problem until I fell asleep. I woke up at around 2am just to hang my laundry to dry before heading to bed.

I woke up at around 9:30am in the morning and I just don't feel like going to my lab today as my mind is still thinking about the assignment. I decided to spend the whole day to look at it before heading out for a dinner appointment with Jamie, Alvin and the rest of my university friends.

It is good in the sense that I can take a short break from work to rest myself to recover from my running nose.

At around 5:30pm, I went to HarbourFront to meet up with them for dinner. I passed the album and the CD that I made for Ben and Charlotte for their ROM. Hope that they will like it.

8th September 2007 (Saturday)

I got to wake up early this morning as I am attending to a model shoot organised by Maurice. This shoot was postponed around 2 weeks back due to some issue. Anyway, this might be the last model shoot that I will be attending this year I think as my schedule is getting busy.

Just to share a few shots taken by me. I got to watermark my shots to prevent leeching. For Portraiture/Fashion/Model Shoot, I am very particular about leeching of my photos. Like I mentioned before, I don't want my photos of the models to end up in some sleazy forums/places nor let others do additional undesirable photoshop. Unless you are the model or the organiser for the shoot (Maurice that is), you can't use these photos without my permission. If you are the model subject and will like to get the photos, just drop me a message on my tagboard. I will see what I can do for you. :) Anyway, I trust my readers and visitors to my humble blog. Just in case if anyone of you saw that my pictures been leeched by other people other than those that I granted the permission or saw that my pictures are posted in other forums or so on, please inform me. Thank you very much.

The lighting condition is not really that good that morning, so I can't really get the feel that I want. Well, the models did their best to pose for me, it is my fault if the execution of the shot is poor.

After the model shoot, I went down to NLB to deposit my backpack in their locker before heading to Suntec to cover the Gaming Convention Asia for my long-time buddy Adrian. Even though I was quite drain out after my morning session, I still went to help him to cover the event as I had made a promise to him already. Anyway, he is my long time pal, that is the least that I can do as an old friend to support him. HuiRong is also working there as a cosplayer for AsiaSoft, hence it will be good to go down and support her too. She had been quite busy and tired for the last few days as she has been running around to do events and so on.

As my memory cards is limited and I haven't got the time to go home to download my morning shooting session to my harddisk yet, hence the number of shots that I can take are limited. Just to share a few.

After covering the event, I went back to NLB to help out with the IR Exhibition. The amount of crowd coming in to see the exhibition is unbelieveable. Even after the first week of launch, the number of people coming in is still quite a lot. We went for dinner after the library is close and head for home sweet home.

Really a tiring day.

9th September 2007 (Sunday)

I spend the whole morning trying to figure out the CA again. I still won't give up as I believe that I am close to solving it. After 3 to 4 hours of cracking my brain, I finally give up as I need to head down to NLB for duties again. The morning started quite slowly and soon Panda and Poh came in for duties too.

I took a short break and head to the library reference section to look for reference books in hope of finding something that can help with my CA. I finish my search and went back up to help out with the exhibition.

Around late noon, Ben and Charlotte drop by the see the exhibition. I am really happy to see them. Thanks for coming down to support me. :) The next important guest that came is Mr Goh Kim Hui, my PSS instructor, the Vice President of PSS. It is great that he came by to visit and support our exhibition. Really must thank him. Last but not least, to JingSi also, I saw his name in the Guest book, but I am not sure when did he came down. Really thank you so much. And of course, any friends whom I miss out or didn't get to see you in person, my sincere apologies and really thank you for coming to support our InfraRed exhibition. Thank you all.

A Visit to The Doc and More Exposure for IR Exhibition

Ok, after 2 to 3 weeks of suffering from running nose, I finally decided to see the doctor. It is really nothing serious as I am not coughing nor is my throat sore, just that my nose is like a leaking tap. The doctor give me some antibotics and some common cold medicine. Well, it is better then nothing, just need to complete the whole course and see how.

Next agenda, yes, it is about the exhibition again. Apparently we are getting a lot of exposure in the media for the IR Exhibition, just to share some of the information available.

1. M.A.S.K. - My favourite cartoon when I was still a kid. I can remember waiting patiently in front of the TV at 6:30pm every Wednesday evening.

3. Mitsubishi - Yap, it is the make of the car. I love the Mitsubishi Galant. It is still my dream to owe one.

4. Mars - No, not the planet but the chocolate bar Mars. I seldom like to eat sweet but chocolate is another story. Hehe...

5. Merlion Park - The old Merlion Park that is. A place that I used to love to hang out.

6. Myojo Mee - My favourite instant food. Hehe...

7. Motorola Inc - Located in Libertyville, Illinois, US. The first company that I started working for since I graduated from NTU, love the working culture there.

8. Mother - One of the most important woman in my life whom without her, there won't be a me. Of course, her never-ending love for the family...

9. Music - Music has always been a part of me. Starting with the first walkman since my secondary school to Discman during my poly and MP3 player during my uni till to date, I always have music on the go.

10. Mouse - Yap, I remember that my ex-neighbour gave me a cute little mouse as pet, but it climb out of the box and disappear. Till now, I did get the chance to rear mouse in my house.

That is a tough one. Can hardly complete the 10 things...
Ok, time to get some rest first. Let me think of what to give other people. Heh Heh...

Day 5 of IR Exhibition and Project D Beta

I was asked by someone to review Project D Beta today. It was kind of last minute thing but I told that person that you no need to ask me twice about it as it was like once in a lifetime kind of thing. I can't reveal too much until some time later but all can I say that I am truly impressed.

Other news, ok, I know it is getting old and still but there are still flocks of visitors coming down to view our IR Exhibition. All I can say that it is a great success. The comments from the visitors are encouragement to us to shoot more and share with all. Most of all, we want to get people interested in InfraRed Photography. Today, 2 of my CSers friends came down to support us, they are CYRN and TMC aka Jeremy, really thanks for making your way down to support us.

I guess I can't go down to NLB tomorrow as I am having lectures tomorrow night. Anyway, hope that more will come down. Cheerz. Good night.

Day 4 of IR Exhibition

Yap, it is another post about the exhibition. Well, it is really quite happening as this exhibition is still drawing the crowd even after 4 days of opening. I was there this evening with Ah Zheng when I met Thomas and Janice. Thomas and Janice was about to leave when we saw them, this is a real coincide. I bring all of them up to the exhibition and show them around. Dennis, Bobby, Andrew and Matthew are around at that time.

Besides, Ah Zheng, Thomas and Janice, a few of my secondary friends also came down to support the exhibition. I must really thanks them for coming down especially to Bak Chye, Chee Meng and Hong Yang. Sorry if I missed out anyone. Really appreciate the support. Thank you very much. Cheerz.

Just a quick update about myself, well, I am having quite a busy day with my experimental work and also working on my subject CA which took up quite a lot of my time. I am going to do some lab supervision duties next week which means taking up more of my time. Oh well, time to do some proper time management. Wish me luck.

Day 3 of IR Exhibition

Well, it is back to work again for all those involved with the exhibition after 2 days of action and fun. Teerex will be there most of the time as he is a retiree and the rest will take turn to go down during the evening.

I am having a busy day as I need to meet one of the professor who is taking charge of me for the subject that I am taking. I need to do a mini-research project for that subject. Besides that, I need to fabricate some prototypes for my work.

At around evening time, Teerex told me that a big group of Teacher and Students of Raffles Design School came by today and that the Guest Book only left 5 pages. That is really great to have such a big turn up. I see if I can download some pictures from them and share it on my blog.

Since the Guest Book is almost finish, I went down to Trints to buy some refill and went to NLB and install it in. When I was there, I guess all those on "duties" left for home already. Anyway, it is really great to have such a big turn-up. Hope to see more people there.

Day 2 of IR Exhibition and Comex 2007

I guess this is another week without any photos to share again, really sorry about that. My running nose is still like a leaky tap, guess still need some time to nurse my health back to normal and I also have to go to NLB to get ready for the 2nd day of our exhibition.

I was on the dot for the 2nd day opening. When the library open, I went straight up to Level 8 and prepare everything. I turned on the panel lighting, took out the guest book and pens and so on. After getting ready, I just sat there to wait. I felt a bit regretted for not bringing my lecture notes with me as I can do a bit of revision while waiting for people to come.

There is not much crowd in the morning, just one or two visitors that came to took a look. Really a slow start for a Sunday morning. At around 11am, Teerex and his wife arrived, shortly after that, Poh arrived also. It is good timing as I am meeting Thomas, Chye Lai and Ewei at City Hall at 12:30pm.

At around 12:15pm, when I was about the leave, Ah Meng and Ah Meow (Ah Meng aka Kee Meng was my primary and secondary friend, Ah Meow is his girlfriend) came. I showed them around and left with them as I need to hurry off to meet Thomas and the rest.

After meeting up, we had chicken rice at Purvis Street before I bring them to the exhibition, however Teerex, Mrs Lee and Poh are no where to be seen at that time. I believe they went for their lunch. As I was showing them around, the weather took a change and the 4 of us are stuck at NLB. As we are sitting around, Ark's relatives drop by to see the exhibition, I chatted with them and show them around. Not long after that, Teerex, Mrs Lee and Poh came back and so I introduce them to Ark's relatives.

As time passed by, the weather changed for the better and so Thomas, Chye Lai and I went to the Comex show while Ewei went back home as he is still recovering from his illness. Thomas and Chye Lai bought something at the show but I didn't buy anything. Well, not really nothing, I managed to catch up with HuiRong at the Stuff booth and bought a magazine at $2. I wanted to buy a Lightscribe burner but I can't seem to be able to find one as the crowd at the show is terrible.

After that, we went to Dhoby Ghaut for dinner before heading home. Really a tiring day for me. Alrighty, time for a good and warm relaxing shower before I hit the bed. Good night and take care everyone. Cheerz.

IR Exhibition @ NLB Level 8

Finally, after days and months of preparation and discussion, the day is here. Our very own Infra Red Photography Exhibition which is called InfraRed City. On the first day of launch, quite a lot of the visitors and guests came. It is really a happy occasion for all the IR Regulars.

I must really thanks all those who came down for the exhibition especially from NTU such as Karen and her friend, Wee Ching, Mr Yu, Chen Hao and of course, Adrian (not the Adrian that I know from my primary and secondary school but he is Ian's friend who I met at Cafe Domus quite some time back). I couldn't recognise Adrian at first look until he introduce himself. I felt really bad as I couldn't really recall immediately. But I find him really familiar at first but I just couldn't recall. Hehehe... Ok, guess age is really catching up...

At around 8:30pm or so, all of us had dinner at one of the coffeeshop nearby and had a toast for the launch of the exhibition. I hope that there will be more exhibition like this one in the future. May it be group or individual (a bit too far for that, hahaha...), I hope that there are more chances. But if given a choice, I still prefer a group exhibition as this is really one group of fun people to hang out with.
