Another update...

So right now I am trying to type while lying down, using my mom's laptop. I am now on bedrest. Last week on Tuesday I went to have an ultrasound done to check my cervix again to see if it was getting any worse. Needless to say it was quite a bit worse and Wednesday they took me to surgery to do a cerclage, the stitch around the cervix, that I mentioned in my last post. 

After surgery I was so out of it and so my Dr. went and talked to Jason and my mom in the waiting room and told them it was a difficult surgery. He said that my cervix was even worse than it was the day before and it is a very good thing we did the surgery or I would be delivering very soon. He said we are just going to take it day by day then week by week. 

This really is a humbling experience and I am so grateful for our family, friends, and neighbors who are so willing to help us out. I am also so grateful for Jason who is doing so much,well  everything, for our family and has been such a great strength to me. Also, I am so thankful for Connor who can always make us smile and brings so much happiness to our home!

I feel so thankful for everyone's help. It is hard to accept so much help, but I know I have to do whatever I can to keep this baby inside of me so she can continue to grow.

An update on our baby...

Well I am 19 weeks now and can't believe it. It seems like this pregnancy is going pretty fast. We had our ultrasound yesterday and we also had an ultrasound at 16 weeks and both times they said we are having a girl! We are so excited. Either way we would have been excited but now I know I have a boy and a girl. On the ultrasound at 16 weeks my OB found what he called an amniotic band. It was nerve racking at first because we did not know anything about it and my OB said it could cause abnormalities in the babies limbs. So of course we ran home and got on the internet. That was a mistake. He told us a couple of other things that made us think that she was probably ok, but we weren't sure. After yesterdays ultrasound with the radiologist he confirmed that the baby looked great and there was nothing to be concerned about. This was a huge relief. We are so thankful that she is going to be a healthy little baby.

After that relief was taken care of the Radiologist was looking very closely at my cervix and he said we can't see it well so we are going to have to do a vaginal ultrasound. So I was confused why he was so concerned with the size of my cervix and asked him why. He said because my first pregnancy I went into spontaneous pre-term labor that he wanted to make sure my cervix was the right length, otherwise there could be a possibility of pre-term labor again. So they checked my cervix and it is short. Normal he said is 35 mm and mine is 19 mm. He had a couple of suggestions like I will have to get a progesterone shot weekly until 36 weeks, (studies have shown this can help prevent pre-term labor), he also said weekly ultrasounds to check the length of my cervix to make sure it is not getting shorter, modified bedrest, and talked about doing a cerclage which is basically a stitch around the cervix to also help prevent a pre-term labor. So after I went to my OB's and he agreed with all of those things, but for now we are waiting on the cerclage.

Anyway, I am just so grateful that she is healthy and hope that she will stay in me until at least 37 weeks... Sorry so long.

Halloween was so much fun this year. I wish you could have heard Connor say trick or treat it was more like crick or treat. He had so much fun with all the scary decorations, pumpkins, witches, and of course the candy. Can't wait until next year!

Jason's hunt and some other things...

Connor and I were at Gardener Village yesterday looking for some rugs. We had a good time walking around and Connor really liked looking at the witches. At first he was a little nervous.

Earlier this week I was out in the kitchen and I heard Connor talking in his room, so I peeked inside his room and found him sitting on his rocking chair, with his lamp turned on and he was reading one of his favorite books about Dinosaurs. He sure is growing up!

This is last Saturday, the opening of the deer hunt. Jason got up early and went with our neighbor and by 8:00a.m. he had a deer, and was home by 1:00p.m. We were all way excited! Jason was actually on the news, I guess they had to check all the animals for something and while they were stopped Fox 13 news interviewed him. THANKFUL FOR GOOD FRIENDS:

This is a week or two ago at Olive Garden with some of my neighbor friends. We started a tradition to go out for birthdays. Thanks for a way fun night girls! Can't wait to do it again!

These are some of my other good friends from college with our little boys. This was the beginning of October when the weather was still nice. Thanks Ash for inviting us to go swimming! We had a great time!

Some big news...

So we are so excited to tell you that Connor is going to be a big brother! I am 12 weeks today and feeling pretty good, just a little more tired than usual, but nothing to complain about. I am due April 20, 2009. I think Connor is going to be a great big brother! I think Jason and I are a little nervous wondering how having two kids is going to be, but we are so grateful and excited to be adding an addition to our family. I will keep you updated.

So I know I haven't blogged for a few weeks so I will give you a little update from September...

Connor continues to amaze us because he is learning so much. Jason has taught Connor how to feed the dog and of course Jason has to help him a little but it is really cute. Here are some pics.

A neighbor and I took our kids to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point. They all had a great time.

Connor loved the water well with the little ducky's and also the room with all the dried corn to play in. It was lots of fun!

It is hard to believe that Connor is now two. His birthday was yesterday and we had a great day! I am so thankful to be Connor's mom. He has been such a great blessing to us and has brought so much joy to our lives. WE LOVE YOU CONNOR!!! We are also so thankful for love and support from our family and friends!

July update...

So an update on the last post, we made the goal the last Tuesday before July was over, we finally got rid of Connor's binky. I was pleasantly surprised and it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The hardest part was naps or nighttime. Now he is used to it and I am so glad that it is behind us.

We had a good 24th of July. It wasn't too eventful though, Jason had to work so I hung out with my mom and sister because my dad and brother-in-law worked too. At night Jason bought some small fireworks and put on a show for Connor and I. We had a good time. Here are some of the pictures.

Our little boy is getting bigger...

Connor is so much fun! He is learning new things each day. It is so fun to see him learn and grow. I just wanted to share a little bit of it with you. Yesterday we were eating pizza for dinner and he is getting really good at feeding himself and does not like any help. The picture shows that even though usually gets most of it in his mouth, he still gets a lot on his face and clothes. I am not complaining because when he eats well at a meal I am so happy because at this age he is hit and miss with food. He just seems to eat when he wants to, which can be stressful at times because as his mom I am always worried about him getting enough to eat. The other thing that he likes to do is put on his shoes, but this morning we were going outside to sit on the porch and he put them on the wrong feet. It was really cute and I had to take a picture. The last picture is of Connor sleeping on his bedroom floor. As you can see in the picture Connor loves books, and he also loves airplanes. He woke up at 6:30 this morning, so he must have been really tired. The binkie is another story. I really want to get rid of it, but it has gotten harder and harder as time has gone on. I did not want to take it away while I was in school because that and his blanket were his comforts while I was not there. He only gets it when he sleeps and at church, but I have a goal to get rid of it before the month is over... wish me luck. :0)

This last picture I just wanted to add because I wanted to tell Jason that I am so thankful that he is my husband. He is the best dad ever! We love you Jas! (This picture was just a couple weekends ago.)

Well it is finally over! I took the RN state board exam last Friday and passed! YEAH!!! I am officially a Registered Nurse. What a huge weight off my shoulders. After the exam on Friday, Jason, Connor and I headed to St. George for a little getaway. It was so much fun. My grandparents live in St. George and we stayed with them. It was great to hang out with them. On Saturday, we drove to Las Vegas to hang out with one of my great friends, Janette and her husband Nate and little boy Boston. We had a great time and it was such a great little trip. We really needed it.
