Jacoby’s Birthday Dinner

 We finally made it to the restaurant for Jacoby’s birthday dinner. What a wonderful time!

AND we’ve adopted again!

So, since the other 2 guys are so tiny we still needed some mousers and I had already been working with people for these 3 guys. Oh my yes, now I am the “Cat Lady”. These guys don’t have names yet, but they are wonderful, friendly kittens and the boys all love them!We went from 3 kittens to 2, then to 5 in only 2 short days. Oh my!!!

We’ve adopted again!

ince we are now on a ranch we needed some barn cats. When we picked up these little guys I found out how tiny they are… this was not what we were expecting. But of course we had to figure something out. While trying to figure out what to do, we had an accident and one of the kittens died (his name is runaway, if the boys ask) – but everyone is ok and the other 2 kittens are doing great. They are now living in our garage. The tiny one is named Stanley and the other one is Captain America (Captain for short). Aren’t they cute?!?

Evyn has finally gotten this chewing thing down!

Way to go Evyn! Now we just need to work on taking smaller bites, but hey the other boys are still working on that! :)

A visit with Grandpa Don!

We only got 3 hours, but we will take all we can get. Grandpa Don is Shan's dad and he drove up from Texas to pick up a 4-wheeler we got for him. We sure wish he lived closer - especially now that we have 3 boys and a ranch!

They were trying to figure out how to get it in the truck - they tried it this way with no luck...

Finally they started working smarter NOT harder!

Longmont Flood

Thursday evening a firefighter knocked on my door and said that I had 10 min to get my family out of the house. I looked outside and wondered what all the fuss was about since my road was just a little wet. I asked the firefighter if my husband would be allowed to come in and pick us up - he said, no. I closed the door and quickly called Shan. I told him what happened and he said he was on his way. He went through 3 stop points, but finally got in. The water was almost coming in the truck which is about 31/2 ‘. We loaded up clothes and things that the boys would need, a cooler of food, the dog and headed out – the back way. We went the only direction we could go – south on I-25. We spent the next couple of nights at a hotel. Here are some pictures of our neighborhood.

 When we came home on Saturday we didn’t have any running water, so we started collecting rain water and water from the sprinklers (hooked to a local pond) – it was nasty! Later that evening our neighborhood was evacuated again, but this time we decided to stay. We were very productive packing, playing games and spending some much needed time together.

We are so blessed to that neither of our homes were damaged by the floods. Our hearts go out the thousands evacuated and who lost everything. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers over the past 2 weeks. I am sorry this has been my first chance to get to the blog. God Bless.

Jacoby is 4!

Happy Birthday!!!

Jacoby is a trooper since we got flooded out on his birthday. We had planned to go to the museum and to dinner and his favorite restaurant – “the place where they cook in the middle and you pick your own food”. When I told him we couldn’t go he said, “it’s ok mom we will just go another day.” I guess I was more upset by the situation that he was. Later that evening when we got to the hotel we tried to make the best of the situation by heading to the pool. And since we didn’t have any suits, they got to swim in their undies.

Later (and for the next 4 days) Jacoby said that he wish had come true… he said, “daddy gets to stay home with us all day and all nights”. He said he had the best birthday ever! What a special, loving little guy.

REAL Fire Truck! Our friends have an old army fire truck that they took the boys for a ride on - they thought it was the best thing EVER!

Mimi & Grandpa T's Visit

We had a great visit! Our last visit didn't go very well, so we weren't sure what to expect from this one, but Evyn did great (and so did everyone else)! As God promises - HE works ALL things out for good... sometimes (most of the time) things just take time, prayer and patience.We pray this continues and things will just keep getting better from here.
