Hello family
Hello all,
I have favors to ask of you all. If your kids have ANY old toys they don't want or aren't using I could really use some help getting things for my prize box. My kids range from kindergarten to sixth grade, girls and boys. You would be surprised the silly and seemingly dumb things my kids love such as bubbles, fake mustaches and old action figures. Because my students have learning disabilities they are used to doing next to nothing in their general Ed classes and thus I DO have to bribe them with weekly or bi weekly prizes to get them to do anything. Anything you could donate would be AMAZING and for you garage salers and thrift store mamas please keep my students in mind when you find cheap dumb toys :-) thanks love you all, p.s. Teaching is going well.... But it's also VERY stressful... I see why grandpa still has the occasional nightmare about it :-D

hello family, yes I am posting
I uploaded my pics from my camera so I thought I'd share with you guys:
Last week we went to the coyotes' game with Greg and his date Nina (she was super cute and sweet) It was so fun, Brandon loved it so cha-ching I got brownie points
The lady sitting next to brandon would lean over and grab his leg all through the game and comment about stuff. She was definitely drinking which made this situation hilarious, I was glad it wasn't me haha (that's her standing up next to him)
Greg loves hockey, and dating I guess haha
don't mind the triple chin, it was the best/only picture greg took of us

we ate at el ray's and then walked down the street to all the antique shops. I saw these kitten murals and had to get a picture of course. haha there was one of them painted eating a lizard with blood on it, a little gory i thought
brandon thought this old bus was cool, he also tried explaining all the parts of the engine to me (in one ear and out the other) I just nod and say, "cool" to everything haha
and here are the puppies that are sadly all gone but one. aren't they adorable! I miss penny, she was my fave

True Love
Landon is so cute. He and his adorable friend stayed the night here so they could ski in the morning. He forgot his ski pants so he is wearing mine. He got all the way to Park City to ski, he read his text from Bethany that he left his coat here. He came all the way back to get his coat. Poor Guy. I think he is in in la la land.

Amazing
Bethany came home and said her friends brother was serving in Sendai and that they were having a zone conference when the Tsunami hit. I did some investigative work-- because you never know about these rumors. The Deseret news reported the same thing and the elder in the article was from Heber City. Wow--The Lord does protect his missionaries. They were all together and they were 35 miles inland.
Deseret News "Some 20 missionaries from the Japan Sendai Mission — including those serving in some of the most affected coastal areas — were attending a zone conference in Koriyama when Friday's quake hit. Koriyama is located 35 miles inland from one of the damaged nuclear plants."

Missionaries in Japan
I just got this email from missionary mom's
We have received an update that all of the missionaries in Sendai have been contacted, and are fine, except for 2, and they do not live in the affected area. This good news is encouraging!

These earthquakes and Tsumani's are so scary. My heart goes out to the wonderful people of Japan. I'll be watching to see if Chile is effected by this. The missionaries are warned to run up to higher ground.

Happy Birthday!!!!
To my sweet Chloe!!! I can't believe my baby is 7!
She had to take a poster in today with facts about her. She was supposed to write 3 things that were great about her. She said, she is nice, she is always happy, and she is good at making friends. Those are all so true about her. She is also so patient and a wonderful teacher to her brothers. Her school teacher told me that when a special needs boy comes in during math she always wants to have him sit with Chloe because Chloe helps him with him math without doing it for him. She got the wonderful teaching genes from the teachers in our family! I am so lucky to have such a sweet girl!
Quinoa--the miracle seed
"If I had to choose one food to survive on, quinoa would be the best," said Dr. Duane Johnson, New Crops Agronomist at Colorado State University. Quinoa is higher in lysine than wheat, and the amino acid content of quinoa seed is considered well-balanced for human and animal nutrition, similar to that of casein [milk protein]."
Quinoa possesses larger quantities of calcium, fat, iron, phosphorus, and B vitamins than many other grains. One-half cup of cooked quinoa contains 15.5 mg of calcium, compared to 8.5 mg in the same quantity of cooked whole-wheat cereal. The protein content is a whopping 4.1g for that one-half cup of cooked quinoa. Potassium is impressively high with 159 mg. as is zinc with 1 mg. Other impressive figures include 1.38 mg of iron, and 59 mg. magnesium. In the category of fiber quinoa rates top scores with 2.6 grams for one-half cup cooked grain.
Quinoa dominates just about all whole grains because it has lysine, one of the nine essential amino acids that you must get from your diet because your body can't synthesize it. Other grains have some lysine content, but not enough to count; quinoa's lysine content is sufficient for it to be considered a complete protein. If you make quinoa the side dish to a chicken breast, you're not only getting all the benefits that a whole grain offers (no insulin spike, increased satiety, reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, improved gastrointestinal health); you're also getting an extra serving of high-quality protein.
If that were all quinoa had going for it, it would still beat brown rice hands down. But there's more. In a study conducted in 2002, researchers found that eating quinoa was associated with an increase in insulinlike growth factor-I levels. IGF-I is intimately tied to muscle growth.
Quinoa also has higher levels of micronutrients that are implicated in muscle growth. Magnesium not only helps maintain the muscle you have, but also plays a role in creating more muscle. Potassium, a mineral that assists in pulling fluid from the bloodstream into muscle cells (creating a pump), is also important to recovery after exercise. And folate, which is one of the B vitamins, is required for muscles to make new cells. That is exactly what it does after every workout.

Advice
First off I totally need some new songs for my IPod but I am totally out of the loop when it comes to the popular songs, so I need some suggestions!
