We are back from Hawaii and it always is great to come back to the beautiful mountains and our friends in Colorado. We had a wonderful time, and if wasn't for me being sick the whole time I think it would rank as our fav vacation. We started out in Honolulu due to Paul's conference. Our room overlooked the surfing beach and we watched the sunset each night from the baucony. In between Paul's classes, he would run out there and catch a wave on the surfboard...that was fun to watch. Honolulu is fun, but it is too crowded for us ( it's like NYC at the beach) so we headed to Maui to celebrate our 5th anniversary. So we are on the Dave Ramsey budget and at first I told Paul I think we should camp in Maui, but he talked me into a condo that had a "construction discount". We didn't know what we were getting into, but it was absolutely incredible. The construction was 1/2 mile away and we didn't see it, but our upscale condo was right on the ocean...we would watch the waves crash and even see whales jumping in the ocean outside our bedroom. The second picture is a pic taken from our bedroom. I felt like we were living in a Rich & Famous episode. It was totally a God surprise as i ended up in bed a lot of the trip. Some highlights were of course reading/quiet times by the ocean, Paul got to windsurf, an amazing lunch at a Plantation House and I still remember passion fruit sorbet we had at Lapperts (a hawaiin store) 5 years ago and we found it again! It was so fun eating fresh pineapple & papaya every morning with our Hula Girl pancakes...I can still taste it...
It's not 80 degrees here in CO, but 60 will do especially that it is the first day of spring! Our daffodils and crocuses are blooming! Saturday Paul's brother's fam arrives and we get to hang out in the mountains for a week. I am still battling nausea, so probably no skiing for me, but relaxation is my friend right now and hanging out with my niece and nephew. Looking forward to catching up with ya'll...it seems we have been out of town for a long time!
