Scrapbooking

So clear back in the day, before I even had Kate, I signed up to be a Close To My Heart consultant. It's a scrapbooking/stamping retail company that has tons of neat stuff. I started out making cards and things like that but never got into scrapbooking. After I had Kate I ended my career of being a consultant, if you can call it a career. I never really got good at selling things to people...I just don't like to feel like I'm pushing people to buy things. I had a descent amount of stamping/scrapbooking stuff by that time, however, I then lived in a small apartment with a baby. There wasn't enough room to spread out (those of you who scrapbook know that you need an insane amount of space to have everything you need close at hand) and if I did get my stuff out, I had a little angel that would come by and steal things and eat them or hide them. Anyway, now I'm in a house and have been for over two years. I have this great room that is perfect for craft stuff, and it wasn't until now that I've really utilized it. I was asked to make a 2 scrapbook pages for my mom's-in-law birthday. Since I was coerced into actually getting all the stuff out and actually creating some pages, I decided I'd go all out. And I did. I've been working on the pages all week and have spent hours doing them. Jason showed his concern about how much time I was putting into this, but I told him that I was actually having fun! I get to complete something that won't just be undone again, like the laundry or cleaning the floors or fixing dinner. This would actually get to stay done! That is an amazing, empowering feeling! I'm sure that if I did all this more often, I could get faster at it....and I just may. But for now I'm really excited and proud of my little craft project. I'm sure seasoned scrapbookers could find all sorts of scrapbooking "no-no's" on it or tell how they could make it look so much better, but that doesn't matter. I think it looks great and that's really all that matters.

Getting Better

So now I think I'm sorta getting the hang of this blog thing. However, I can't say that I'm anywhere near really versed, but at least I have a few interesting things on here to look at. I must admit that when I went to fill out the personal profile and figure out how to do anything on here, I felt a bit....um....inadequate. I sent an e-mail to Janae telling her about how I don't think I have any interests or hobbies anymore because every time I'd try to come up with some information about me, I'd draw a blank. She was able to reply to my e-mail and bolster me up a bit, er, a lot. So I'm back at it with new-found determination and hoping that I can keep this just a tad interesting for those who might wander by and read it. For now I guess I'll just post a few photos that I really like and that represent my family rather well.

Good Smile!

Ok....what now?

So this is my first time on a blogging page. I really have no idea what I'm doing and sadly, the more I explore and read around, the more confused I get. I'm really feeling like I'm getting old...you know, one of those dumb old people the kids laugh at because they are so "out of it." Yikes. I never thought I'd be one of those. So here I am trying to "get with it." And I'm probably making a bigger fool of myself by posting my inadequacies for anyone out in cyberspace to see. But how do you learn if you never try, right? I'll just keep telling myself that.
