Nathaniel is 4!!!

Happy Birthday to my (not so) little boy!  Nathaniel turned 4 Sunday and is just growing up so fast.  He loves to build and create things so we always have forts or towers or something around the house that he has put together.  He also LOVES to listen to music and will sit for hours going through the songs that we have.  Nathaniel still has a lot of spunk and lets you know if he's upset about something, but he is also such a sweet snuggler with the cutest smile and fun personality!

 

 

Campout!

Spring/summer time always gets the kids excited for campouts.  Alex bought a neat little trailer/tent thing for our side-by-side and set it up Friday night.  The kids were so exited about it that they decided they needed to sleep in it that night....which meant I also got to sleep out because they were too scared to stay out by themselves. 

 

Nathaniel and Isabella had nasty coughs, so they got to stay inside with Alex.  Because Nathaniel didn't get to camp outside, he and Alex built a cool fort inside and he got to sleep with Alex that night.  I spent the night trying to stay warm, get comfortable, and keep the kids in place, so I didn't get too much sleep.  But then neither did Alex, who had Nathaniel in bed with him coughing and snoring and rolling over him all night, and Isabella coughing and freaking out in the next room. 

 It was a fun time for the kids, but I think we're gonna wait a little while before we camp out again so we can get ourselves ready for another sleepless night!  :)

Nathaniel saw this photo of David when he was little and decided it looked like fun and wanted to have a picture taken of him doing the same thing.  Kaitlyn, of course, had to do the same!

 

~Happy Easter~

 

We decided to stay home this weekend instead of going up to the condo for their annual Easter celebration with egg hunt and all.  So Saturday we just hung out all day and relaxed and enjoyed the nice sunshine.  Sunday morning, David was the first one up and found everyone's baskets.  One by one, the other kids woke up and David proceeded to "help" them find their baskets.  We got dressed in new Easter outfits and headed to church.  After, we had Alex's mom and another family in the neighborhood come over for an egg hunt out back and yummy ham and potato dinner with pudding pies for dessert.  Overall, it was a very nice weekend spent with family and friends and relaxing at home.

St. Patricks Day

Sunday morning, the kids woke up early so they could go on the treasure hunt the Leprechaun left for them.  They each found a pot of gold and loved it!  That afternoon while Isabella was napping, the other 3 made skittle rainbows.  I am trying to make holidays more meaningful and fun for the kids, so hopefully I an remember to do something cute each year....

 

 

David is 8!!!

 David turned 8 the 25th of February...can't believe it!  That week we did a combined birthday party with his best friend, Gamble, who is just 4 days younger than David.  we went to Nickle City, played games, laser tag, and ate an awesome Super Hero Birthday cake that Emma (Gamble's mom) made.

 

The following week, he got to skip a week of school and go on a family cruise to the Caribbean.  We got back, he went to 2 days of school and then got sick with a fever and cough and missed more school!  Luckily he got feeling better by Saturday for his baptism.  We had family come into town and lots of people over for a luncheon after.  It was a very nice day....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

COLD, COLD, COLD!!!

This winter has been especially cold.  We've had more snow than in past years and definitely stayed inside WAY too much because of the below-freezing temperatures.  With that also comes the flu, coughs, colds, and more sickness because we can't kill a dang thing with all this cold weather.  Luckily it has warmed up the past week so we've enjoyed some nice time outside in the {warm} 20 and 30 degree weather!  The kids went outside yesterday to play in the hard, crunchy snow, ride bikes and the power wheels, and just run around.  David was able to shoot hoops with his friend the other day as well.  Having such cold weather for so long makes you appreciate the sunshine!

Kaitlyn's birthday

I am WAY behind on posts, but wanted to try to catch up.  So.... Here is a little from Kaitlyn's 5th birthday on October 30th.

We celebrated with our family on her birthday, then that Saturday she had a party with all her little girl friends.  It was princess themed, so they all dressed up in pretty dresses, made wands and crowns, and had fun being silly girls.  It was so fun to see her with everyone and spend some girl time (because we kicked the boys out of the house)!
