It's Done

Although we haven't totally moved in, the house is finished. The new address is 13729 SE Thurmont St., Happy Valley, OR 97086. All of the furniture from Oakmont, that was in storage, has arrived. It is scattered throughout the house but mostly in the garage. We still have our bedroom furniture, a sofa and the TV at the apartment. We plan to move it over this coming Tuesday. It has gotten hot here, 94 yesterday and mid 80's today. We don't have AC so we like to go back to the apartment to sleep in the coolness. We have to be out by September 1st so we will need to tough it out later this week. Nellie comes on Wednesday so we will have everything over by then. Cable and internet will be installed on Wednesday. We have so much work to do. Mostly putting everything away. Dad started building shelves in the garage for storage. We have 12' ceilings so we are using the "up high" space for storage.

The new grill. It is hooked up to natural gas so we don't have to worry about propane bottles. 

Our new fridge in the kitchen. The kitchen is pretty well set up but we need some bar stools.

 The family room. It still needs the couch from the apartment and some shelves.

Mom's craft room. We will need shelves in here too.

A couple of weeks ago we went back to the coast and found a great spot. It is called Sand Lake, although there is no lake there that we could find. There was a huge dune on the beach, 200 to 300 feet high. We climbed to the top. The view was great. A lot of people were out since it has finally warmed up.

We grilled steaks and corn on the cob on the beach. After a three hour hike, we were starved.

I know, we said it was warm but Dad still had a sweatshirt on. It was upper 60's and windy. We had a great time.
