8 weeks left

So we have 8 weeks left until Ellie Renee gets here! We still have a bit to go to complete her room, but we have a goal of Dec 31st..... SO hopefully within the next week or so, it can be complete!

My dad is having a Spinal Angiogram/Arteriorgram tomorrow in LR. It's a 4 hour procedure and is looking for any blockage in his spine. Hopefully they DO find something bc if they do, they can supposedly break it up tomorrow while they are in there, and there is a chance of him being 'fixed.' (whatever that means anymore). And, if they don't find anything, back to square one.

I will post some pics next week of my first baby shower I am having this weekend!!

Below are a few pics- unfinished room pic that was a few weeks ago. And, some knobs that I painted for the dresser we are STILL finishing!!!!! The only thing I could find to put in the knobs while painting and drying them were golf tees! They worked perfect!

Getting a little bit closer

This week is 27 weeks! We have her room BARELY started!!! I have the walls painted. Her bed is in the box in the room, and her closet is almost full! Her rocker is in the garage waiting to get sanded then stained, the main dresser IS sanded and waiting to get stained, and the rest of the projects are in the process of being completed too...

I guess eventually it will all be finished!

So my dad got a few answers over the last month or so. He finally got told that he had a spinal stroke. It is pretty rare, and there really hasn't been an answer as to treating it or recovery. He also had an appointment today with another doctor, and it seems like this one is hopeful about helping him as much as he can.

Oh, and I am going to get a 4d ultrasound on Monday! Maybe we can get a pretty good shot of her! I always said that I would never get one of those, but I am pretty excited about it!

Baby Time

Today marks 19 weeks pregnant for me! I really didn't tell many people at all until about a month ago, but i had definitely been to the doctors enough before then!
We found out around 15 weeks that it was a girl! I had several ultrasounds before that at around 6, 8, and 13 weeks...
At 13 weeks, my high risk doctor found her bladder and said everything looked really good, but he couldnt really see the kidneys so that is why I went back to him a few weeks later too...let's just say there have been some LONG weeks of waiting and worrying. But, the great news is that at the next appointment, the kidneys were perfect! (I bet not many ladies that are pregnant are as excited as me about seeing kidneys when they go to find out the gender of their baby!!!!)

Well we have a name, and I am sure everyone that actually reads my blog every 6 months already knows it so i will wait till my next post for that!

In other news, my dad goes back to the doctor Oct 1st to see what options he has about surgery.

We FINALLY upgraded to iPhones so I will be able to put pics on here now! So here is Bentley!

Enough time

I'm not sure that there is enough time in the day anymore! To back up a little bit, our lives have definitely been non-stop the past few months. Jordan's dad lived with us temporarily while he had a feeding tube and couldn't eat for a few months. We finally got him eating again by making A LOT of fried eggs throughout the day! We fattened him up about 10 lbs, he was able to start eating a few meats, and then he was ready to go back to work and his home!! My dad, on the other hand, has been through a lot lately. Back in April, when we thought he had a heart attack.....it ended up being a little more complicated than that. To cut to the chase, he stayed in the hospitals for about 10 days. After about the 2nd day, he realized that he had lost all of his feeling from about his belly button down. He was temporarily paralyzed, and they were trying to find out why. After many tests, they diagnosed him with Transverse Myelitis. It is an infection in your spinal cord that is caused by a viral or bacterial infection. It got a little scary for a few days because the paralysis started moving up toward his respiratory system, and they did tell us that it was a very dangerous diagnosis because at that point, they were not sure if he could go into respiratory failure or not. Luckily, that did not happen. However, he is battling with this still, and up until this point, there aren't really any recovery answers. He IS able to walk again, but he still does not have any sensory feeling from his belly button down, except for a few areas in his left leg. He has been on and off of steroids since he first got the diagnosis, but there are a lot of questions still. We did find out last week, that he did get approved for an appointment at John Hopkins in Baltimore! They have a specialist in Transverse Myelitis there so hopefully there will be a few things that he can find out there that he has not been able to find out here. Not many people know a lot about this because it is pretty rare. He goes in about 8 more weeks or so. Other than some medical issues with our dads, we have been doing really good. My area for work is closer to home now, so I am doing A LOT less traveling, and I am able to relax when I get home at nights AND on the weekends a lot more! We have been golfing whenever we get the chance! We have played in a few tournaments, and this weekend, I played in the Club Championship on Saturday and Sunday. I had a really good day Sunday, and made up for my not-so-much day on Saturday.... I am definitely jumping around in my updates, but we are LOVING our house!!!! I am so grateful for everything that we have in life right now. With all of the struggles we have had over the past few years, we are definitely in a good place right now. I guess I will wrap it up now. - I still can't figure out how to post pics on an iPad! - I am SO excited for all of my little cousins! Sarah going to Dental school in Louisiana, Ally being a 2nd grade teacher at Caldwell, Matti starting her JR year at West Lib, Bo being a Razorback, Jen being a Miss St Cheerleader, Gray being a Senior, and Drew kicking butt at baseball and golf! - Bentley (our dog) is growing up, and LOVES our new fenced-in backyard! - Jayme had her baby a few weeks ago! Little Lexi is SO precious!!! - We completed our flowerbed in the front yard, and now have more projects that we know what to do with! - I reupholstered (almost finished) a loveseat when we were on vacation, reupholstered all of our dining room chairs, AND made 9 pies that week! That's all I can think of tonight!

So I thought....

I thought that I FINALLY figured out how to upload pics on here from my iPad, but I WAS WRONG!

So, I woke up this morning with a text that said my dad was in the hospital. Mom had taken him to the ER around midnight because he was having chest pains. They have run a lot of tests and an ultrasound today to try and rule things out, and they are keeping him overnight to check his arteries tomorrow. HOPEFULLY he just pulled a muscle or strained something in his back yesterday when he was doing some yard-work though.

He had come over to our house last night because we grilled out, and mom was working since it is tax season.....so I told him today it was probably our cooking that sent him to the hospital!

I will definitely keep all of you updated though, and I am going to try and get some pictures up....maybe tonight if I can!
