Our first Christmas

ICE FISHING.....

When we first started ice fishing it was 7 degrees.

This is where we get to go for Christmas...

I am looking forward to spending time with my in-laws. They are wonderful people. I look forward to snow and ice fishing.

This is a great time of year to reflect on the many blessings that we have been given. Our Heavenly Father LOVES us so much that he is waiting to bless us for the things that we need. I know that he is there in our time of need. I am GRATEFUL for many things.

First Couples Tourny

I took some sweet talking, but I managed to talk Jo into fishing a couples tournament. This is a tournament mainly for the husband and wife to fish. The lake that we were fishing was Bartlett, my favorite lake. We had prefished last weekend and found some good fish. The water level is currently dropping at about 1 foot per day, due to the fact that they need to do some work on the dam. The water dropping is confusing the fish and fishermen! The morning started off at the best spot, we pull and start beating the bank. Jo is drop shotting a 4" fat Robo Worm in Salt River Craw. It wasn't 5 min and I hear "I GOT ONE and its good!!!" I turn around to grab the net and this beautiful 2 lb largemouth comes flying out of the water and throws the hook! We try and brush it off, like no big deal. We move to the next spot and Jo catches some rats (12" and under). We move to my favorite spot on the lake that's always productive mid morning and theres a boat sitting on the sweet spot, so we keep our distance and wait for them to move. We watch them boat 3 nice fish. I finally hook up with one on a jig, and Jo was quick to get the net under him. A nice 1.75 largemouth. The other boat finally leaves and move into position. We didn't get bite so I turn around to fish back threw it and get bite and miss it. I let it fall back to the bottom and work it alittle longer, but he didn't want to come back for it. I start reeling it up off the bottom and the fish grabs it, almost ripping the rod out of my hand. I fought him for about 10 sec and the hook pulls. This was my breaking point, I couldn't believe it. I'm now frustrated and we still only have one fish in the live well. We keep working the spot and I mange to get two more fish both about 1.25 lbs. We decide to head to a couple of other spots and find boats sitting on all of them. We only have an hour left and 3 fish in the boat that we can take to the scales. There is a point right next to where you launch your boat. We worked the spot and with 15 mins left I stick a nice 2.12 lber. Our 4th fish in the box, still needing one. We call it a day, with 4 fish over 12 inches about 12 rats. We had a total weight of 5.77lbs. It was one of those days where nothing went right. Lessons learned: 1. Stay positive and keep on keeping on. 2. If things aren't working change game plans and try something different. 3. Can't beat a day on the water with your wife, even tho she jinked us from the start (just kidding).

The joy of fishing

This is was I was able to see today as I went fishing. We didn't take the camera so I don't have an actual picture. I was beautiful to be on the was want see the creations our Father in Heaven has made for us. I love see the many different birds out in the lake and watch them fly, dive in water, play in the rocks, or wait for fish.

The eagle we saw was a little one. We were fishing the Yellow Cliffs at Bartlett and the eagle cam from the middle of no where. It was col to watch it fly up and go sit on a cactus, and other rock around. I love birds. They are neat to watch and enjoy God's creations.

General Conference

I am so excited that I am able to watch Conference today and tomorrow. I know that the Lord speaks through His servants. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today to guide us. I am grateful for his words of council to help me become a better person. I know that gospel is true. I know that God lives! He has a plan for us to follow and I know that as we follow his plan that he will bless us. I know that as we keep the commandments that we will be guided by the spirit in our lives to do what the Lord would have us do and become more like Him.

It was nice to come home on Tuesday and find this


on the kitchen table. I also received several text messages and calls that day. Thank you for all that remembered me that day. It is great to feel LOVED! I love you all.

Lake Havasu (Honeymoon)

We went to Lake Havasu for our honeymoon. It was hot, fun, and relaxing. Jason's father has a friend back home who makes fishing poles. For one of our gifts from them he made us fishing poles. I was able to fish with my pole. It was fun. I got several fish. It was fun to be on the lake and away from everything. The Famous London Bridge is behind us. The company that we work for built it. We stayed at the HEAT. It as a cool place to stay. This is one of the rooms we stayed in. It walked outside and there is the lake and the bridge it was a neat view. Jason's bluegill. He caught this fish at the dock on morning when we went to get the boat. It was a 13 inch. The biggest bluegill he has caught.
