Happy Halloween 2012

We love Halloween at our house.  This year the kids were all something different than years past, no repeat costumes.  We did a lot of homemade costumes as well which are my favorite!

 Kalli was an Old Lady and Raegan was an Angry Bird and also Bat girl at night but I didn't get a picture.

 Max was a Police Man, Andrew was his Prisoner.  Sydney was a Dalmatian Dog and Tyler was a Mad Scientist.  

 Nicholas was Superman, complete with his 

Superman back pack.  

(he was so hard this year, he didn't quite get the concept of dressing up in costume.)

 Then we had Thing 1 and Thing 2 and they were a hit!  So cute and they so fit the part!!!

For Trick or Treating Chad and I decided to join in and be the Grinch and Cat in the Hat.  It was a wonderful day and night.  The weather was perfect, warm and beautiful and the kids were happy.

Pumpkin Carving

Every year, the Monday before Halloween we carve pumpkins at Grandma's house.  The kids look forward to this all month long.  Every year Sydney gets mad because here pumpkin doesn't turn out how she wants it to.  

Kalli always "strategically" draws her face on and then cuts it out.  She is very serious about her carving.

Chayce and Chandler were very curious about the whole process. (not a lot of help)

BEST time of the year!

 I LOVE this time of year!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!  

Living in Utah has allowed me to appreciate and enjoy the different seasons.  Fall is my favorite.  I love the color change in the leaves, I love the cooler nights, I love BYU Football as I look up at the Y mountain while wearing a sweatshirt.  This season makes me happy.  Like giggly happy. 

 One morning while the big kids were at school Chad and I took the three little boys up into the mountains to see the beauty.  It did not disappoint!  In fact I think this year the leaves were more gorgeous than ever.

 One of our favorite places to see the colors is at Aspen Grove.

 Chad was a good sport.  He would stop on the side of the road and pick me branches for my Halloween decor.

Big Kid Max

 MAX started Kindergarten!!  

He was so excited and so nervous.  He has wanted to be one of the big kids for so long.  I love this kid.  He has been challenging and fun all at the same time.  

 I walked him to his first day of school pushing all of his little buddies.  Nicholas was SO SAD when we left Max there.  Not because he was going to miss his brother but because he wanted to go to school SO BAD!

School is back in session!!!

It's back to school for these kiddos!

Our last Hurrah!

We ended this summer with a fantastic trip to Park City.  We stayed in a condo at the Westgate and loved every minute of it! (Well maybe not the part where Nicholas was sick, Chandler got pink eye and Chad wasn't will us all week due to traveling with work).

We had a hot tub on our balcony that the kids LOVED!!  But unfortunately I was a little too paranoid to allow the babies any where near it when it was open.  Chayce wasn't too happy with my decision. 

Me and the older kids had fun in the Hot Tub while the babies slept.  We told stupid jokes and laughed!  Great memories.

 We played tons of card games.  Each kid from Max on up learned how to play "Speed"

 I bought a ton of naughty food that I don't buy on a normal day.  But we were on vacation and that means we eat like garbage!!!

 Poor Nicholas was sick pretty much the entire time, high fevers, mouth sores, etc.  But he still went swimming every morning with us.  He was so funny!  He would not take off these funny glasses the entire time.  He would even shower with them.  He also refused to let anyone carry him from the pool to the condo, so he would walk (at a snails pace) with his towel wrapped around him.

 Just outside our condo there were these ski lifts.  The kids would ride them over and over.  

 Kalli and Tyler entered into the condo's "Iron Chef" competition.  The secret ingredient...Bananas!  Kalli made deep fried Bananas and WON!  She won a $20 gift certificate.  Tyler came in second with his Brownies and Cashew coated bananas.  

 We swam every morning.  Chayce and Chandler LOVED the pool.  Chayce would bounce up and down and then kick his legs up and sit on the bottom of the pool, holding his breath and blowing out through his nose.  I've never seen a kid this young do this.  He loved it!!!

 We went to the Alpine slide.  Loved it!  

A "must do" in Park City!!

 This condo had tons of activities for the kids.  They got their face painted every day, colored pictures and made crafts.  They also loved the arcade.  

 We were so sad that dad couldn't be there with up except on the last day.  He had to travel for work that week.  We loved having him there the little bit he was there.  I had a fantastic time bonding with my cute kiddos!!!
