Pictures of the Week -- October 24th

 Normally when I want to take a picture of Brian, this is what I get -- some small part of his face because he has jumped out of the way of the picture!

 I bought these pumpkins on clearance at Target, and I really like the nice touch they bring to the hall.

 Of course, Kelly had to try her tiara on the dog!

 It is my goal to actually get the ball in the photos I take of Erin heading the soccer ball.  This time I failed.

Here I Go Again!

Usually when I fail at something, I am content to just give up.  I made my effort, and it didn't work, so why bother.  However, I am determined to make this blog work.  So... here I go again!

Week 23 -- June 6th

On Monday the girls went off to Young Women's church camp at Camp Cedar Glen in Julian.  Notice the western wear?  The theme was "How the West Was One."

What did Brian & I do while the girls were gone?  We saw the X-Men movie of course.  We did that, and we spent a lot of time on the computers, unimpeded.

What did David do while the girls were at camp?  He traveled to Vancouver for a conference and brought us back lots of Canadian goodies.

David also got a new smart phone, and everyone quickly becanme addicted to Angry Birds.

Week 22 -- May 30th

Monday was Memorial Day, and after breakfast at the Broken Yolk, we made our annual trip to a local cemetery to remember the men and women who gave their lives for our country. We were lucky enough to meet a WW II veteran there who spent about a half hour with us telling us about his war experiences.

At the end of our visit, we were treated to some fly-overs by some vintage planes in various formations.

Wednesday was Brian's 8th grade promotion from Rancho Del Rey Middle School. There were more than 800 students being promoted. They held the promotion at the football stadium of Southwestern Community College. Silly Brian thinks that by shushing us from the field he can keep us from cheering for him.

Grandma Renee came to the promotion and took this picture of David & I with Brian. He's actually letting us take his picture, which is an accomplishment.

We had lunch at Islands afterwards, and Brian received a cell phone as a promotion gift.

Thursday was Kelly's 6th grade promotion from Heritage Elementary School. All three of our kids graduated from there, and now we have no more elementary school students. This is the slide that showed when Kelly was promoted. It has her kindergarten picture and a current picture, along with a favorite quotation.

Kelly and her best friend Hayley. They have been close friends since being in 2nd grade together.

Back in the Saddle Again!

Due to OVERWHELMING demand (my sister-in-law Amy), it is time to get blogging again! Somehow at the beginning of the year, I got caught up so many other aspects of life that I lost time for photography and blogging. Something always has to give, and this time it was my blog.

Six months later, it is time to post some more pictures. I'm definitely not going to try to "catch up" because then I will be doomed to failure. I am going to attempt to go to a weekly format with a little less pressure. I hope everyone will enjoy some more wonderful pictures!

David gave me this little beauty for Christmas, and I think it will become a frequently used gift during this season of soccer, ice skating, and Mutual.

January 1st

We spent New Years Day in Temecula with my family, and Bananagrams was the game of the day.

December 31st

Freckles received a bath for the new year.

December 30th

Grandma Dayle and Grandpa Chuck came to watch Erin's soccer game this morning at San Ysidro High School. Because Erin's team won so easily, Erin barely touched the ball, so I didn't take any good action shots.

December 29th

We passed this funky old-time green limousine in traffic, and I had to grab a picture.
