I just looked at my pageviews and noticed that people are indeed still checking this blog! So sorry that your efforts for the past 6 months have been in vain!
It would be impossible to catch you up on all the fascinating details of our lives, but at least I can give you a mini-post with a synopsis and two quotes.
Synopsis:
I am about 35-36 weeks pregnant, and feeling great for the most part! My wardrobe is now solely maxi dresses--they keep me pretty cool, cover my knee braces when I need them, and fit my super-low baby bump.
Our kids are fun, cute, and drive us crazy. Jaydon's favorite show is "Godzilla: the Original Animated Series" from 1978 (on Netflix) and his favorite books are Calvin and Hobbes. He likes to draw volcanoes and monsters, write secret plans, and make tunnels in our sand table. Juliana likes Godzilla and Calvin too, as well as many other movies (Toy Story, Daniel Tiger) and too many books to list (although I will mention the Berenstein Bears' Picnic because she has been reading her dog-eared, taped-together copy for probably at least a year). Jaydon has only 3 more days of school left, and then I'm sure we will experience maximum sibling craziness until the baby comes . . . when craziness will be totally off the charts. Hope Aunt Bekah is excited to visit us then!
Josh has tons of work to do in order to get tenure, but is making progress. (Would be making faster progress today if our computer had not crashed a few days ago.) He is a wonderful daddy and husband, trying to make the most of the time he has with us. He had an episode of chronic hives a few months ago, which is now pretty much over (thankfully!), but is now dealing with an ankle injury (unfortunately!).
We are enjoying our new house and neighborhood, including the joys of Florida lawn care with our big corner lot. The weather is getting warmer (80's to low 90's) and the kids are looking forward to more time at the neighborhood pool. Maybe I do need that maternity swim suit.
During my second trimester, I took on 6 private violin/piano students and an early childhood music class. It has been fun, although I will need to cut back for life with the new baby. I am also making quilts, learning to play the organ, and of course trying to keep house and cook nutritiously. (Wonder why I haven't been blogging?)
