Granola Bars

I'm always looking for easy recipes that don't use too many ingredients (I like to cook, but am a simplistic chef, okay, lazy) I had this recipe for granola bars as a R.S. activity a few years ago, and loved it. As granola bars goes, this is pretty easy and nothing too fancy. Try it and let me know how you liked it.

4 C. toasted oats*
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. coconut
2/3 c. margarine, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. honey
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients and press into a well greased cookie or jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars

*To toast oats, spread rolled oats on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 15-20 min., stirring halfway through.

Make it fun by adding chocolate chips or m&ms in place of, or added to, the raisins. Sprinkles in them would be fun too. Have fun with it.
