Field Trip Change

Wednesday's weather is not looking like it is going to be good enough for our swimming plans.  We will still start out the day at Willow Park in Logan.  Please send a jacket and possibly an umbrella.  We will then be going to the bowling alley in Logan.  Because we will be bowling, all students MUST WEAR SOCKS!! We understand the children are disappointed, as are we, but weather in the 60's with rain would not be very fun at an outdoor pool.  Thanks for your understanding!

Updates

Core testing is over, and the students did quite well on their tests.  I will be coming up with a reward activity for them soon.  We had talked about ice cream, but we found out our class won the most reading minutes for our grade and so the PTA will be giving that reward.

This Friday is our Third Grade Music Program.  It will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon.  I watched their practice today and it was amazing, so you won't want to miss it.  The students are supposed to wear their McKinley t- shirts.  If they do not have one, just have them wear a solid red, white, or blue shirt.

Monday the 21st, our class will be going on a walking field trip in the morning downtown to some important places in our community.  We will be visiting the fire department, the bank, the newspaper, Macks, and the library.  I think it will be really fun. We will be back to school before lunch.

Wednesday the 23rd is our grade level field trip to Logan to the zoo and the pool.  If your child signed up to bring lunch from home that day, please make sure and send it with him/her.  Make sure and have a swim suit, towel, sun screen, etc.  I am looking forward to this day!

Friday the 25th, the grade level will be performing our puppet plays for each other.  We will be meeting outside in a portable classroom after lunch if you would like to stop by and watch.

This year has been an amazing one.  I love each and every one of my students.  They are a great group of kids!  Thanks so much for sharing them with me!

Puppets

This next Tuesday afternoon our class with be making puppets with a representative from the Fine Arts Center in Brigham.  This is a really fun activity that the students always enjoy.  The puppets are incredible.  The center asks if families can, to donate $2 per puppet.  If you cannot donate, your child will not be excluded from the activity.  The puppets cost more than the $2 to make, but the Fine Arts Center receives grant monies to help with the costs.  If you can, the $2 donation would be really appreciated!  Thanks so much!!

Teacher Appreciation Week

What an amazing week this has been!  Parents in our class have been so incredibly generous this week....I feel like royalty!  I had a darling poster on my door with my cute class featured with the "Hunger Games".  Keeping with that theme, each night a parachute dropped at my house with an incredible "tribute" from a district.  Darling gifts that were so fun....my own children and I had so much fun seeing what would come next each night.  I got a  tribute to hang on my wall that one of the room moms had snuck in with my class and done.  The kids had listed things they loved about our class and she had compiled them and they each had signed it.  It got me choked up as it was read.I got flowers, candy, pencils, markers, post its, a basket of fruit...you name it!  Thank you so much.  This has been such a fun year with incredible children.  I don't want it to end!  But I do know, these children are so awesome because they have such great role models as parents!  Thanks again!!!
