On Friday December 11, 2009 I became a college graduate!

I received my Bachelors degree in Public Relations and Advertising and my mom received her Masters degree in Nursing.  We had such a fun day celebrating both of our accomplishments.  After the graduation ceremony Jake and I wen to dinner with both of our parents.  I am so excited to have my schooling done and i can't wait to have a little more free time, maybe now i can decorate my house.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped made my education possible.  Both of our families have given me tremendous support and encouragement and i am so thankful for it!

FALL CATCHUP

Jake and i have been really busy these last few months with me trying to finish school and him with work. However, i wanted to give you guys a little picture diary of what we have been up to.

This is what fall in our back yard looks like.

A few weeks ago i had to travel to Arizona for work and while we were driving down Scottsdale road, which i might add is heavenly with all of its shopping, i spotted a Sprinkles. I think i squealed in so much excitement that Tom, my boss, knew we had to stop and try them. At first we thought how good can a cupcake be....and then after trying one we were all in heaven. I scarfed mine down in about two seconds.

Around the first of October Jake and I decided we wanted to go on a fourwheeler ride to see all of the beautiful fall colors. We THOUGHT Big Cottonwood Canyon would be a perfect place to go and it is one of our favorie rides. We thought wrong.... while the ride was beautiful there was also a lot of snow and NOT a lot of color. There was actually so much snow that we got stuck! haha. Jake and Roundy decided they still wanted to see how far up the mountain they could get so we all piled on one fourwheeler and made it around two more corners before we were litterally stuck in snow! Who would have thought there would be so much snow so early?

Roundy in all his glory. Michelle was dying that he wanted a picture like this. I thought it was pretty funny. But then again if it was Jake doing that pose I'm sure i would have been dying.

This was half way up the trail. You can tell part of the canyon is clear and beautiful and the other half is snowy.

This is Jake and I at the big BYU game. Jake wouldn't smile because we were losing...he said he wouldn't take a good picture until BYU was ahead....ya, that never happened.

Madre De La Veale

I want to give a shout out to the Madre De La Veale.

My mom works so hard and she is always doing so much. I seriously can not figure out how she has time to do everything she does.

Here is a list of some of the things that keep my mom so busy:

• Finishing her Masters Degree


• Working Full time


• Raising her last 2 girls at home


• Taking care of Issy, who just had surgery

I literally do not know how she doesn't lose it and wig out on everyone all of the time. And to add to this list my mom just got an amazing new job at the IMC hospital. Her title is Nurse Manager of the 14th floor.

Kristy Veale is manager of 14th floor at Intermountain Medical Center

Congratulations to Kristy Veale, RN, who’s been named manager of the new neuro-science floor on Intermountain Medical Center’s 14th floor, which will open in October. The 14th floor will serve primarily as a stroke unit assisting stroke patients, and neurosurgical patients. They will also work with patients with multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease, and other complications of neurological disease.

Kristy has worked in nursing and healthcare for 25 years, most recently as nurse educator in Intermountain Medical Center’s Respiratory ICU. Prior to that she served as a care manager and an RN in LDS Hospital’s Shock/Trauma/Respiratory ICU. She earned a BSN from the University of Utah and will receive an MSN in December from Weber State University.

"Kristy is recognized as an excellent care provider and patient advocate," says Brandon Vonk, BSN, MBA, nursing administrator over med/surg nursing at Intermountain Medical Center. "She’s demonstrated an ability to lead and motivate outstanding healthcare teams that provide top-quality patient care and has a reputation as a self-directed professional with superior problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities."

Vicki Spuhler, RN, manager of RICU, adds: "Kristy is a great leader. Her clinical skills are outstanding and her case management experience provides her with a unique perspective regarding patient care planning. She has great communication skills, she’s an advocate for patients and their families, and she has good relationships with physicians. Kristy will be a great addition to the acute care management team — she’ll do a terrific job!"

New addition and other randoms

A few weeks ago we noticed something was happening to the wreath hanging on our front door. It was begining to accumulate sticks and branches......behold the birds nest. Most people hate haveing a bird take over their front door, but we never use our front door so i love it!

Here are a couple of pictures of the tulips and daffodills in my front yard.

A month or two ago Jake and i headed down to St. George for a break. It was nice to get away and we had a chance to visit his grandparents that live down there. Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson are the funniest little couple ever

Also a few months ago my good friend Jani tied the knot. We are so excited and happy for Jani and Jeremey. The make the perfect couple and i know they will have a wonderful life together. My prediction is that they will have a bunch of kids and probably at least one set of twins.

The next couple of pictures were taken at the Heiner/Flammer wedding dinner where Jake played the piano. Jake loves playing the piano but he hardly ever gets a chance to. If anyone is looking for someone to play at their wedding or for any other occassion, he would love to assist you.

A while ago Jake's cousin Katie and her husband Eric asked us to watch their four kids for the day while they went to a wedding, all i can say is wow! I love these kids to death but wow they are exhausting. I don't know how Katie does it, she is pregnant with her 5th and still manages to keep her kids entertained every day. And oh ya, she has twins so all of her kids are really close together in age. I had to put this picture up. It is a picture of Elsie trying on my high heels, she looked so cute! Elsie and i had so much fun that day, we painted fingernails, played find the cards i hid all over the bedroom and of course dress up.

I hope everyone is doing well. I am enjoying the two weeks i have off from school and busy planning our trip to Washington DC. We are going in two weeks and if anyone has been i would love your ideas on the best places to visit and eat or whatever you did. Since i will be in school we are only going for 5 days but we want to fit in as much as we can.
