Showering the Baby!

Last night I had such a wonderful baby shower thrown for me! It was so much fun! Thank you so much Brandy and Rachel for throwing it!

 We played pin the football on the target. I actually won along with 2 other girls! It was a fun game! Oh and don't mind the huge belly! I'm bigger with this kid than I was with Skyli. I hope he's not a huge baby!

I really appreciate all the gifts I got! We now have some boy stuff. I am so blessed to have made such amazing friends here! I'm sad that we are leaving! I wish I could just pack you all up and take you with me! Thank you so much Rachel and Brandy for throwing me this wonderful shower! You guys are so amazing! 

Light Parade and Santa

Skyli in her new Christmas outfit that her Grandma Anderson sent her. Last Saturday we headed off to the light parade in downtown BV. Sky got a cute Christmas outfit from Grandma A. a few weeks ago and she wanted to wear it. So we put it on her, bundled her up and headed downtown!

Our amazing friend Alicia. SVU student council asked if they could use our truck to pull their float for the parade so her hubby Frank drove our truck and she gave us a ride downtown to the parade. I love this girl! She's amazing!

 My two most favorite people ever! I love them!

It was so cold and my hands were freezing so I didn't actually get any pictures of the parade, but it was fun anyways. Sky's favorite float was the Grinch float. They had someone dressed like the Grinch on it and it shot out tiny bubbles that looked like snow. It was pretty cool!

After the parade it was time for some hot cocoa, cookies, and SANTA CLAUSE!!!!! We headed up to the school and luckily there wasn't a big line to see him so we only waited for a few minutes. Skyli wasn't scared at all! She walked right up to him, sat down on his lap and started talking his ear off. When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas she said, "Uummmmmm, I don't know." He then asked her if she wanted some jewelry she said yes and hopped down. He gave her a candy cane, she told him thanks and we went to get some cookies and hot cocoa. I love that she is so fearless! 

We LOVE Christmas!!!!! 

PS. I'm wearing a few layers of clothes so I'm not as huge as I look in this pic. Although baby bump is rapidly turning into baby mountain. :)

Sky's Birthday Party!

I know I'm a bit behind on posting. I took these pictures from Zach's phone and they are a pain to download to the computer. Lesson learned, use my camera no matter how cool Zach's phone is! :) 

The Rapunzel birthday cake that I made for Sky. It got really hot in our house so the rice krispies kept sliding down. 

If you notice, the chips and stuff are in small frying pans that we found at the dollar store. I was so excited to use them for her party! I got the idea from the movie when Rapunzel hits Flynn with the frying pan, in case you were confused. :)

As party favors we gave out blonde hair extensions and purple skirts to the girls and breastplates and swords to the boys. There was a huge battle between Zach and all of the kids. After everyone left the battle continued between Zach and Skyli. 

Thank you everyone who came to Sky's party! I truly believe that I have been blessed with the most amazing girl on the planet! She is such a good girl! She loves everyone and is almost always happy. She smiles so easily. I love that about her! She truly is a gift to our family! 

Fall and Halloween

The other day I found a ton of pictures on Zach's phone that I had taken so here they are!

This is as we set off trick or treating. The houses on the next block were all decorated and everyone was on their porch handing out candy. It was a lot of fun. Also, the First Brethren Church had a free Halloween Carnival on that same street. It was a lot of fun! Sky got a ton of candy!

One morning we woke up pretty early and it was fairly warm outside so we went for a walk/bike ride around the high school track. There was a beautiful sunrise that I couldn't help taking pictures of. Skyli had her first bike crash that morning too.

We were at our friends house when Sky went across the porch to visit another one of our friends. She came back like this. It was HILARIOUS!!

Marine Corps Birthday

Yesterday was the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Thank you to all of the men and women who serve in the Marines. You are all so amazing! I must admit though, I do have a favorite Marine and he's my Marine! I'm so proud of my amazing husband for his selfless service to his country! He truly is my hero and I love him so much!

I'm so proud and thankful that we had the chance to be a part of the Marine Corps. I have met some of the most amazing people ever! I'm so thankful for my Marine wifeys. I think about you all often and hope you are all doing well. I love those ladies so much!

The Marine wives! These ladies are truly amazing! I love all of them so much! I don't know what I would have done during the deployments without them. 

These pictures were taken the day our men came home from Afghanistan so we were all a bit giddy. lol 

Jessica was one of the reasons that I made it through this deployment. She was always there for me. She is an amazing momma and friend! 

I wish I would have been able to get a picture with all the amazing wives, but I didn't. I know, I'm sad about that too! But they all taught me so much. There's Jacqueline who was always so much fun to hang out with! She was always smiling and happy! Michelle who helped me spruce up my wardrobe. :) She was always there to laugh and joke around with me. Laura was so far away during this last deployment, but she is still amazing and one of my best friends ever! There are so many more amazing wives out there! You are all truly amazing and I look up to you all! Thank you for being there for me! 

While Zach was in Afghanistan there were 2 Marines in his unit who paid the ultimate price. I'm so thankful for them! They will always be heroes to me! I will never forget them! I am so thankful for their wonderful families! They are truly amazing and wonderful people!

I'm so thankful for the Marine Corps and for all that they do for us! They are all amazing! I wish we could have been closer to our Marine family yesterday, but you were all in my thoughts. Happy Birthday Devil Dogs! OOHRAH and SEMPER FI!! 

Tennis!!!

Every year the SVU tennis team has a tennis clinic for kids. I love this and so does Sky! She did it last year and this year. She even has her own little Dora raquet. She does a pretty good job. She is just a little social bug! She loves doing anything with her friends. She is such an amazing little girl! 

After tennis they always play a game of duck, duck goose (aka duck, duck, run around the court over and over again and eventually sit somewhere). I love watching this! It makes me laugh a lot!

Such a cute little tennis player! This was her last class so she got a sucker! She loves tennis! Maybe one day she will become amazing at it and make us all rich. Hey it could happen! :) She was super sad that it was her last day yesterday. Her teachers were amazing and we both are so thankful for all that they did! What a great way to wrap up our time here in Virginia. 

Trunk or Treat Fun!

Happy Halloween everyone! I just love Halloween! This year Sky has gotten plenty of chances to wear her costume. Thursday was her preschool Halloween Carnival which was tons of fun! Friday was our wards Trunk or Treat. Tonight she gets to wear it trick-or-treating too. Friday we all got to dress up and head to our wards trunk or treat. What a fun night with great friends!

It's Skyli the Princess Bat. She said she wanted to be a bat, but when she saw her costume she decided that it looked more like a princess bat costume than a regular bat costume. :)

Zach and I....... I mean Jimmer and his basketball. :) There isn't much you can dress up as with a big ol' belly. Zach said he wanted to be Jimmer so I said I would be his basketball. It was fun!

And Jimmer dunking again...... this kept happening. I guess I really brought it on my self by volunteering to be the basketball. :) Ah well.... at least he's having fun. I love my hubby!
