Why not finished my mannequin first?

My previous blog ended with the following text:
Last weekend I was in Arnhem. I think when you want to go to a dollshouse fair this is the place to be. More about that in my next blog.
I wanted to show the mannequin that I dressed at the workshop by Hazel Dowd​​. Unfortunately it is not finished yet. I thought that I would have some time the last few weeks to finish it. But other things must be finished first. So the mannequin I had to put aside to finish later.

December is the month of gifts and surprises.
By an English miniature club I signed up for a gift bag swap. This means that you make as much gifts as people who take part. Send it to an address where the gifts are distributed and transmitted again. So you get an envelope with several surprises. At an agreed time we open the envelope together. I think I can show a picture of the wrapped gifts already. For more you have to wait a while.

By a Dutch miniature club we are doing a Round Robin Christmas gift. I have to make something nice for Mincka.

I also take part at a SecretSanta. I've got a name from someone where I have to make a nice gift for. Send it but it is important that the receiver doesn't know from who it is from.

Buying a gift was a simple thing I thougt. With my friend Chris I agreed to buy a small Christmas gift. Just something nice.
This will be the most difficult task for now. Making something is simpler for me than buying.

Last but not least I take part of a Twelve Days of Christmas swap. I did this last year and found it so much fun that now my friend Marilo and I arranged it together. So I make 12 gifts for her and she makes 12 gifts for me. So from the day of Christmas I still have 12 days to open a gift. Exciting huh! I love gifts. At the blog of Marilo you can read why I can't show any pictures of the gifts I already made for her.

Two gifts are ready, three to go.
Wonder why I have no time to finish my mannequin?

Upside down

I thought let me share a most unusual picture to start with. A dollshouse standing on its roof is not something you see often I guess. In my case this is the easiest way of painting the ceiling. This is (just one of) the inconvenience of buying a ready made dollshouse. You can't paint and paper the wall's before everything is finally put together. No, you have to find a way what is most convenience.
Making molds for wallpaper seems to me also easy on this way. This is because the ceilings have beams. Putting all the paper in a propper way between the beams also making molds seems wise to me.
My next step to do is to go shopping to buy cardboard.
