"Twelve days of Christmas swap"

Marilo and I agreed that we would start to unpack the first present on Christmas day. I do think that otherwise it took too long for us to open the first present. Because I was awake at 00.30 hours in the morning I thought well why not. It is Christmas day I am allowed to unpack.
In the meantime we already opend six packages. Till now I did receive presents in three different scales, 1:12th scale, 1:24th scale and 1:144th scale. Each gift was a big surprise after I did open it.

I was very surprised when I unpacked this Buddha statue. So small and yet so detailed. It is in half scale. To show you how small the statue is, I have put a Christmas ornament hook in front of it.

It is very difficult for me not to open the other packages already. But a promise is a promise. I am going to manage!

Christmas gifts, part two

The second gift is a swap I did with my mini-friend Chris.

She always knows to find the best gifts available. That is one of the reasons I do like to do a swap with her. A few days before Christmas a beautifully wrapped package arrived. She also had a little something for my husband packed.
In the package we found:
-a building block set in a bucket filled with blocks
-a recorder
-a booklet of Flipje, this figure is actually created because a Jam manufacturer needed a mascot to stand out. Eventually they made 48 comics stories which are intended for small children and have a bit of an "educational" good character around the main character.

You should see the contents. So beautiful and detailed.

On the card was a cryptic description that was not clear for me. Finally unwrapped I did understand it. Unfortunately, my husband disagrees. Chris wrote: the smallest present is for J, but ultimately ti will be for you. After unpacking the present J said that he did get the Maria statue as a present so she will live with him in his shack. The statue is only two centimeters high.

Christmas gifts, part one

There are several Christmas gifts I still did not share with you. Why? Just because it was not Christmas or because the person I did the swap with did not unpack here present yet. Every gift I have received is so beautiful that they deserve a separate message.

Lets start with the Gift Bag Swap we did with an English miniature group I am a member of. We should do a swap with four girls. Because of illness one of the girls could not join us. Still we did make four gifts. For our sick member also. She was very surprised when she received the package.

Didn't we do a good job. The beautifull centre piece is made by Pat. Jesse gave us two presious glass jars. And the Pinocchio is hand made by me.

It's almost Christmas

Just a few days and than it is Christmas.
This is our Christmastree this year. Under the tree you see the mini presents I've got. Everything is beautiful wrapped. What would be packed in the packages? I'm so curious.

The yellow wrapped package is from my mini friend Chris. We promised each other to open it on Christmas day. And yes I can. You may come over and check every day Chris. I will not open the package earlier.

The purple box with the green top is from my mini friend Marilo. We changed the swap last sunday. In the box are 12 little packages. Just a few nights than I already may open the first present.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

For me the "swap stress" is over. Everything is ready and send. Or ready and packed.

Yesterday I went upstairs to do some last Christmas mini wrapping. I know in my previous blog I wrote everything was ready. It was. Honestly. I only had to wrap the 12 days of Christmas swap. I had no idea how to make it a bit special. This is how it end up.
There is just one rule. Open the bag with number 12 last. For a picture of the things I made for Marilo you have to wait a while.




Tomorrow we will swap the gifts. After that we only have to wait till the first day of Christmas.
Wonder if I succeed that.

No, not from the North Pole

My Secret Santa package arrived. And gues what? Not from the Santa from the Northpole. No way. This time Santa came from Down Under. I still do not know who my Secret Santa was. But what I do know is how beautiful the presents are I did receive. There where four packages. In the card Santa wrote: first to open the largest one first then the rest going down in size.

Because there was no special chat evening planned we where allowed to open the present whenever we want. So I opend them wright away. And this is what I received.

The largest package contained a beautiful decorated Christmas Tree. Than I unpacked lots of presents. Pity that they do not even need to be unpacked. After that I found some Christmas decorations in the packege. The smallest parcel was filled with lots of crackers. Maby there are little tiny crowns in it. Shall I open one? I am very happy with the received presents. Thank you very much Secret Santa.

I still can't show you what I did make for the person who I am the Secret Santa for. Don't know if this person reads my blog so you do have to have a bit patience.

Last wednesday we had a chat evening planned with my Dutch internet group. Unfourtunately my Christmas swap present was not arrived on time. And is still not there. So also this present I can't show you. What I already can show you is the way the Christmas swap is wrapped.

Marjo made some delicious candy towers for me, a gorgeous pillow and a plate with cup cakes. She knows that I have a half scale house. (I bought it from here) She couldn't resist to make a candy tower in half scale for me. Look how beautiful everything is.

I finished all my presents I had to make. Now there is time for:
- my unfinished projects
- not yet started projects
- maby a new project
I'll see.
