Parkesdale - A Florida Must

The holiday season is also the beginning of strawberry season here in Florida. The berries are big, bright, and delicious! No trip to Florida would be complete without a stop at Parkesdale Farms. Parkesdale is a farm stand that, in addition to other vegetables and fruits, sells strawberry shortcake with ice cream and a huge pile of whipped topping (that thing next to the strawberry thrown is a replica). There are also strawberry shakes, strawberry cookies, strawberry preserves, etc. for your tasting pleasure.
There is even a strawberry festival to celebrate the strawberries. There is a contest where a "Strawberry Queen" is chosen for the year. We went ahead and crowned Gwen Strawberry Queen as we won't be around for the competition, but we're sure she'd win.

We love strawberries, and cousin Katie loves Gwen!

On the Move

Gwen has mastered sitting and crawling, so now she's on to pulling herself up. She found this little foot rest at the great-grandparent's house and it was just the right size for standing up!
