Happy Thanksgiving!!

We went up to John's parents house for Thanksgiving and had a delicious meal thanks to Aneta. Grandma and Grandpa Brown were there with us also and Grandma made some of her famous punch. Brody was the only grandchild and he enjoyed every bit of being the center of attention. His energy level was out of control! We were all tired by the end of the day (to be expected) and he was still going strong!

Why Do We Even Buy Him Toys?

Kings Love

During the day on Saturday, John and I and his brother Tyler and sister in law Kristi left our kids with John's parents Lee and Aneta and we headed to LA to see the NHL KINGS vs COYOTES hockey game. Anyone who knows John and Tyler know they love the Kings. As for me, and I am sure Kristi too, I just go for the fun of it. Last time we went, I was star struck by Larry David, creator of Seinfield, and another actor on a show called Standing Still (don't know his name) sitting very close to us. This time I didn't see any celebrity fans, but we did see Wayne Gretzky, the head couch of the Phoenix Coyotes. Here is his picture. We were across the way from him so it is kind of hard to see. He is the one with the suit on standing behind the players.

Oh, and Kristi did see some girl that plays on Friday Night Lights as we were leaving. I am not familiar with that show though. Here are two pictures of John's man-crushes, Anze Kopitar(#11) and Jack Johnson (#3). I was hoping it was the singer Jack Johnson but no.

After the game, we had dinner at the famous Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. It is a "soul food" hole-in-the-wall place. We literally had fried chicken and waffles. I never thought that combination would go together, but it was very delicious. Definitely a place to try at least once.

Best Scrapbooking Tool Ever?!?

Ok, so I am a big sucker for infomercials! I have noticed this weakness ever since I had Brody and up all hours of the night. I have never actually bought anything, mostly because I tell John I want it and then he talks some sense into me. It is a good thing I have him or I might be broke. So, this morning, 5am (Brody as been getting up super early, daylight saving probably!) and I saw this infomercial for Cricut. It is so cool! I am definitely sold! It is like a printer that cuts out shapes and lettering. It has something like 4500 different images it can cut. I am not really a scrapbooker, but I think I could be if I had this. All you scrapbookers out there!!! Is this a great buy? Have you heard of it?? Is it worth it for a semi-crafter?

Our Little Kangaroo!

For Halloween, Brody was a kangaroo. He loved the costume for about a span of 5 minutes, but then hated it. Too hot, I'm sure. Doesn't he look so cute though?!?

Our ward's trunk or treat activity was postponed to last Tuesday. We had it outside with another ward, so there were a lot of people there. It was really unnecessary to be there, because Brody didn't care about getting candy; he just wanted to run around and play in the bushes. No pictures either, I had forgotten my camera.

Halloween night, on the other hand, was really fun. My friend Abby had a Halloween party at her house. Most of the families from baby group were there, along with a lot of Abby's family. The kids played games and the adults ate and socialized. It was a great time! Later, we took the kids trunk or treating. Brody once again did not really get the hang of it. He'd rather run around the cars and touch all of the decorations in the yard. Once I pointed him into the right direction, he would race to the door and take out all the kids in front of him and try to get in the house. He made it in successfully a few times. Well, maybe next year he will enjoy it more.

This picture is funny. We were out trick or treating and Brody got Twizzlers from one of the houses, so he just kept chewing on it with the wrapper on. He has 8 teeth coming in so I am sure it feels good on his gums.

He loves to get on my bed and hide in the pillows. He has been doing it recently and it is pretty funny. I guess he doesn't realize that I can still see his head. What a silly kid!

Happy 30th Birthday John!

We celebrated John's 30th birthday on Monday. Since the weekend was not jam-packed as originally planned because of the fires, we were able to relax and have a birthday weekend instead. Saturday morning we had breakfast with his parents in John's hometown of Claremont. It is called BC Cafe and the best breakfast place I have ever been. It is becoming a tradition going up there every year to celebrate. After breakfast, his parents and I headed off to the mall to get Brody a Christmas outfit and then met John and Brody back at his parent's house. There we just goofed around for a while. Brody loves their wagon and enjoyed being pulled around.


That afternoon, we went and dropped Brody off over at my friend Abby's house to play with her little boy Noah and headed to the movie, "Dan in Real Life". We really liked it. It's a good clean movie so I definitely recommend it. Thanks again Abby!

Sunday, I just thought about the primary program and nothing but. Our ward starts at 2 o'clock (perfect time for little kids!) so I had the whole day to be stressed out. But like they all do, it turned out great.

On Monday, John had to be up in Santa Monica for a training so we expected him to be really late. Birthday miracle! John was let out early and got home at his normal time. We enjoyed his favorite recipe of pork ribs and ice cream cake. Here are shots of Brody and John opening gifts.
