Someone Up there must love me!

This morning i just found out from my cousin next door that her dad shot one giant cobra, black! Somewhere near the house. The best thing about this story is, last night i was happily walking to their house, oblivious to the danger. Lucky for me the cobra didnt see me as a big dinner feast. If not then i wont be blogging right now. Just so happens my dad ask me to walk over to their house using the main road, usually i take the short cut among all the trees and semak samun, what's the point of the short cut if u dont use it right? anyway last night i obediently follow my dad's advice, he simply say to me "take the road, there's a cobra lurking around" and i thought "yeah right, nobody has seen one" but i decided to follow his advice, something or someone tells me i should use the main road, and sure enough today my uncle caught one huge one, my cousin said it's as long as her height, that would be almost 5 feet.

While writting this down, my heart still pumps a little bit faster than it used to. It's funny tho, i was a bit annoyed at my dad at something he said or did and in the end he saved my life. mhmm... think from now on, whatever annoyance i have with my dad, i'm just gonna bite my tongue and keep a straight face and just listen to what he said. I need some coffee now!!

Bangkok Trip. Day 1

(130905 tuesday)

1400 too excited to stay at home, decided to carry my luggage out to my car and wait for viv in 'Home and Garden' (she said she leave office at 1530) halfway almost jatuh down the stairs with big empty luggage, viv called.

viv: what u doin?
me: on my way to the car to home and garden
viv: *laugh* ..... 1 mins 15 seconds later .... so early u want to go to home and garden?!!!!!
me: i cannot stay in the house, i go crazy so i meet u there, i take a slow drive.
viv: ok layda .... *hang up*

humban luggage in back seat, slow drive ikut penampang highway... halfway phone sms ....

(from viv) meet u there at 1515 lah. (reply to viv) ok .... some other msg which i forgot....

time check 1415 ... still early, reduce speed to 40mph, reach tong hing still 30 mins before 1500. walk around tong hing, nothing to buy, 5 mins to go walk to home and garden, walk a bit. saw viv check time 1500. *laugh* ok look around buy essentials then drive to viv house. open luggage, stuff all viv's clothes and other stuff. time check 1630, stuff two luggage in back seat. drive to sri pelancongan to pick up mel. reach mel's office.

mel: OMG!! crazy la u ppl!!
me & viv: he he he dont worry, luggage empty.

Drive to airport..(some more conversation taking place but i so excited all data entry to brain corrupted) .... reach airport at 1700, meet faz, transfer viv small luggage to faz's big one. so total, still two luggage. check in to thai air asia. faz already laughing listening to them speak. free seating so took the seats close to the exit. 2 hour +++ flight. consult thailand(bangkok) map, plan itinerary, faz saw hard rock cafe and got all worked up. 2 hours in flight sugar running low, ears all blocked decided to get some shut eyes before the kapal landed.

Flight from Terminal 2 BKI to Don Muang Thailand. 1435 - 2040
The funny thing about this trip is, before we (me, faz & viv...zar already in bangkok) even set foot in terminal 2, we already have loads of tips on how to get the best cab from the airport (what to do, what not to do). Thailand airport is HUGE!!!! we have to take the shuttle to reach the gate from the runway. It was raining in Bangkok. once we're cleared from custom (this custom officer actually said "selamat datang" to me, first greeting in malay i takazut) all three of us with big empty luggage dengan confidentnya walk all the way out from arrival hall to the depature hall, ignoring all the "taksi, taksi", "u wan go where?", "taksi cheap". ever watch amazing race? like that la we all. come out from the depature gate saw one taxi dropping off passenger, flag it tell the driver asia hotel then off we go. that's when the heart attack started. i think if all the cabbies in bangkok join F1, they'll probably win. punya laju!! this guy drive, he take some short cut thru some back alley almost langar this tuk tuk, he didnt even go thru the expressway. reach hotel in record time of 25 mins maybe less. all for 200 baht. i think my hair some parts turn white already. faz feels the same way. only viv didnt feel anything cause she sat in the middle.

Did i mention that bangkok is bustling with ppl? i'm tellin u now. so many cars on the road. heran no accident at the speed that they're goin. meet zar at the lobby of asia hotel. first impression = jaws dropping "is this our hotel?, OMG! it's huge! What star again this hotel?" ok, put sakainess aside, manage to check in and get into the rooms, its was moderate looking with twin bed so two ppl can sleep in one bed since the bed kena push together. anyway, too late and too wet to go anywhere so decided to walk around near the hotel, found 7-11 (yai) went for dinner at some small restaurant called new spice. i forgot what i had but it cost 80 baht cause i ordered ice coffee, then went back to hotel, mandi and get ready to sleep.

Memorable event : zar opened the hotel window to look at the view but saw the other room opposite instead and a couple doin the deed. what a way to welcome bangkok. haha

Day 2

(140905 wednesday)

woke up at 0700. damn natural clock. nothing to do, so mandi and woke everyone up. still raining outside. zar still got workshop until 1600 so she left early. only me, faz & viv set out into the wild bustling city, only problem is, we went out too early in the day. haha took the sky train to siam station, walk down to siam square, shops still closed need to fill up belly so have breakfast at some outlet in siam square called Canton House (KK also got this restaurant name) ordered green noddle (looks like kon lo mien) 60 baht, nice but too starchy and small portion. after breakfast, walk to chulalongkorn university konon wanna buy their t-shirt but they have it only in pink colour... cancel that. then search for hard rock bangkok.

I wanna mention here that every pole we saw in siam square got speakers where they played music from their local station or something, faz said they probably aired some govenment propaganda everyday. very loud speakers, the locals seem to enjoy it tho. so early morning wake up to your local radio station, not bad also lah the songs, we actually walk one round before viv finally notice the sign terang terang says HARD ROCK (huge yellow creamish building with a big tuk tuk in front).

viv: there hard rock!!!
faz: oh yeah lucky i saw it!!
me: (thinking to meself) *damn rain i'm wet*

I guess when it rains or drizzle nobody looks up (also bcoz payung block). did i mention that there's live wires everywhere? like one touch away. it's a miracle we or the locals didnt get electrocuted, anyway faz already happy jumpa hard rock so we decided to take a break & drink coffee cause its still 0930 and shops only opens at 1100. went to black canyon coffee, i had coffee grande. ice blended coffee + chocolate ice cream 550 baht. faz likes the chairs so much he took several pictures (no camera allowed). still raining mind you. so we wait in the outlet drinking ice coffee until 1030 then we're off again. soaking a bit sajuk mau mati. then somehow under the rain we pass this building that says coffee banking, faz went in and shocked to find its a real bank where u can do bank transactions and at the same time enjoy starbucks coffee. creative + smart almost got lost but we manage to find MBK (maboonkrong)(our main destination) went in, sakai a bit cause the building is huge. got a map of the bulding (if they give map for any building ... well u get the picture lah how huge it is) from the information counter.

We decided to start from bottom then make our way to the top. the lenght to go from side A to side B is like the length of a football field. it took us two hours to reach level 2 (there's 8 levels, we start on level 1) then take a lunch break at this place called santa's. faz said it's like sugar bun in kk, the concept lah but the food portions they give very little, come to think of it all the food portions they give very little, thats why cepat hungry, no wonder all the ppl there all kurus. anyway i had some rice with chicken or something, cost 39 baht. after that continue walking to 3th floor .... the whole floor sells only electronics and mostly handphone. imagine the whole floors all handphone outlets. bulih gila oh. madness!! so many ppl and soooo many handphone shops, and they all look the same, not much variety dunno how they compete. all three of us pening after walking that whole floor. like trying to come out from a difficult maze. saw some stalls that sells bootlegged DVDs cheap, and they terang terang sells some 5 stars DVD. out in the open. culture shock also lah sikit i. then moved on to the 4th floor. here kaki a bit pain already. more food stalls and a food court. also more kedai that sells cheap t-shirts and pants and banyak lagi lah. didnt buy much cause we wanna see our options so we window shop first and mark the shop so that we can go back if theres no other choice. okay walk to 5th floor, furniture shop, skip this floor, give kaki a break, then moved on to 6th floor, more shops, more food stalls, handicraft stalls walk faster, legs pain, 7th floor almost done, game arcade, cinema, there's even a booth where u can sing karaoke (transparent booth tho so not much ppl went)...... are we there yet? 8th floor? MBK tower .... time check 1530. MBK done!

faz: so where should we go now its only 3.30?!
viv: dunno
me: we can check out central world plaza
viv: ok

Only problem we dunno where it is. consult map. oh just the next building after siam paragon, fine we walk there then. outside still raining, detour to siam discovery centre, still under renovation not much shops open, went out continue walking, feet soaking wet , pain returned with a vengeance. when your feet hurts like **** its seems forever to reach that place, halfway walking, i noticed the sky walk, with roof!!!

me: (shouting to faz) how come we didnt walk that way, using that??!! *pointing at sky walk*
faz: what? where? oppps didnt see.
me: *growling*

In the end manage to walk to the trade centre, went in wanted to buy sandals or more confortable dry shoes. no luck, its one of those high end shopping malls. kinda empty (after MBK everything looks empty) no shoes, no sandals either, hampa. then walk to Gaysorn Plaza.

viv: toy u should buy umbrella
me: forget about that now i'm all wet, it probably stop raining altogether until the weekend once i buy one.
viv: THEN!! what u waiting for buy one now!!!
me: ok ok, if i see one i buy one.

Reach Gaysorn plaza, another high end shopping mall, here u get all the armani, gucci, lorenzo ... u get the picture. time check 1630.

me: should we get back to the hotel, zar prob. on the way back by now.
faz: ya we better get back and rest our kaki a bit before dinner at hard rock.
viv: ok how do we get back to the sky train
me: *consult map* we should go to the chit lom station its nearer. just after this gaysorn plaza.
faz: ok lead the way.

More walking, dragging feets actually, finally reach chit lom station, took the train back to asia hotel, reach hotel soak all our feets in hot hot water.. ahh... anyway zar came in 5 mins after we masuk, so after mandi and getting ready, we're all off to have dinner at hard rock. faz bought some t-shirts in hard rock then we have meat for dinner. all meat. huge portions by the time we finish everyone bloated habis. zar paid for the meal, mine was 280 baht i think, forgot to bring camera so no pictures of hard rock bangkok. then proceed to Suan Lum night market. nobody knows how to go cept zar so she takes the lead. only two wrong turn for whole trip naik sky train and MRT so kira ok cause we manage to reach that place. night market in bangkok 100% much better, cleaner and bigger than night market in KK. but because it was raining heavily we decided to cut short (come back tomorrow), then headed back to hotel and zar just realised that its already wednesday and she needs to hand up report tomorrow, so she decided to forgoe visiting the old kingdom tomorrow and do work instead. so she burn the midnight oil (hotel light more like it) while the rest of us sleep and snore like a passing thunderstorm ... well me lah mostly.

Memorable moments (Canton House)
Faz: u send food to the table yes?
Waitress: NO! YOU EAT!
Faz: ok yes we eat .... (dengan muka blur when back to the table)
me: so? they send to the table?
Faz: ... er ... She just said YOU EAT! .... so i guess yes lah
me & viv: ??? ..... (then everyone burst out laughing)

Day 3

(150905 Thursday)

Cloudy but no rain. good day to visit the old kingdom, i suggested to find some stalls behind the hotel to eat ikut the locals (be daring sikit ... sakit perut belakang kira), found some stalls jual meat kebabs and salad, give it a pass cause its mostly pork, then saw one stall that sells nasi campur and mee soup, viv & faz had the mee soup i took the mix rice (as usual small portion) only cost 20 baht each. cheap.

Then we decided to walk to find cheaper cabs (hotel cabs usually expensive) and viv got some tips on where to get cheap cabs so viv's leading the way and we somehow end up dunno what district, survived crossing the road and viv just flag one cab. we looked so much like lost tourist (which we were). cab driver assured us that he knows the place, so, here goes another terror ride, one thing we notice along the way to the grand palace is that every big building and every roundabout or jejantas or as long as got empty space to put in big billboard the thai's put in a picture of their queen. from zaman muda till her current age lah. only the queen (there's one with the king), she must have done something but we couldnt find out what cause language barrier. oh well but it gets annoying after a while. anyway reach Grand palace, cab ride was 650 baht then at the entrance faz kena ask to change his pants because nampak his ankles, they all very strict about what u wear to the temple. no singlet no shorts. to go in to the temple grounds we gotta pay 250 baht entrance fee, then they give us map. OMG!! the place is massive and breathtaking. a lot of places were still under repair so it's close to the public, but we get to see the emerald buddha, no camera allowed and no loud noices, we saw one sami bertapa in the hall (vip seating) and some other local and foreigners offer their prayers as well. we also saw angkor wat, miniature one of course, the real one being in cambodia, and the murals (good v/s evil and how all the deitys & demons were fighting among humans and all that story) all along the great wall that surrounds the whole area. huge lah the place. i let the picture speak for itself lah, cant really explain the feeling unless u been there yourself. (more pictures in my photo album)

After the grand palace, we decided to go to wat po. after some light snacks. ate some bugs (which were not cheap 5 bath each bug) ulat, grasshopper and frog (we decided to skip the beetle, it's still looks a tad too juicy ... too much of a fear factor for us) so we walk along the wall trying to get to wat po (i finally got my umbrealla) walk along this park where some ppl actually sells corn to you so that u can feed the pigeons. one lady actually put the corn packet and hand signal that its for me, i promptly put it back in her hand. someone told me never take anything from these ppl, nanti they just charge u or something. so after walking thru the park we ask for direction from this tuk tuk driver, he said we were goin the right way but at this time the ceremony in the temple belum start so he suggest follow him in his tuk tuk for a joy ride until 1500. we got tips from cath and dan that there no such ceremony in wat po, it's just a ruse to get customer in his part. anyway we decline politely and continue to walk to the end of the grand palace walls. its a long walk and its super hot. at least i get to use my payung, finally reach wat po, entrance fee 20 baht, saw the giant sleeping buddha, faz actually wanted to get blessing from a sami but we couldn't find one (the one in grand palace tengah sembahyang not nice to kacau him) so he change 20 baht to 200, 1 cent coins (dunno how much it's worth, it looks like our one cents) then we put the coins (one by one) into these monk arms bowl that's place along the exit. everyone does it so u can hear the 'coins dropping in bowls' sound in the whole temple.

Then malas want to see the rest of the temple we decided to go back to the hotel to check on zar, taxi ride back not so terrifiying cause me and faz feel asleep. viv ride shotgun dunno she sleeping or not. one the way back we saw the giant swing (its indicated in the map) a lot more monuments and more posters of the queen. the cabbie took the back road to the hotel so we kinda panic for a while cause we couldnt see any highway or familiar road sign. (yea right even if we spotted one we couldnt understand it anyway). but he safely send us back to the hotel, okay breathe easy. check on zar, she still haven finish her work so she halau us out say she probably join later in the evening. the we went back to MBK to eat lunch. went to the food centre on the 6th floor, had Hoy Tod (fried mussels) for 40 baht. not bad but they put too much taugee. i dont like but faz loved it (loved it so much he go and put in extra helpings of taugee, looks like he's eating fried taugee instead). then walk around MBK, by this time we all expert already where to go to buy what, ha ha, after much walking and kaki started to trob i need a break to rest, i need coffee. went to coffee house ordered butter scotch ice blended with whipped cream. yum. viv and faz fell asleep on the chair. 30 mins later, feet well rested time check almost 1800 zar said she meet us at siam station so we berangkat to siam station to wait for zar, the only problem is that station is double storey so we waited at the wrong floor, but we manage to see people (locals) actually line up to board the train. u can spot straight away which one is local and which one is not. haha viv finally found zar when she went down to look for toilet. in the end zar still have work to do so she minta tolong get the skirt she booked yesterday in suan lum night market. ok we manage to find our way to suan lum, get the pants, went to the open food court with stage shows, got this one guy singing and rapping with all his might, it was in thai so we just ignore. apparently the crowd loved it. they sell beers and other liquor and theres a whole lot of food stalls. they use coupons so we gotta change our bahts but unused coupon is refundable. so no need to worry, only problem is deciding what food to eat. faz bought some turkish kebab, viv ordered mee soup i think, and i ordered what look like a german sausage thai infused haha. we tapau our food and went back to the hotel room to keep zar company.

Viv wanted to go watch tiger show (i just found out from jimmy its suppose to be thai girls. mhhm ... didnt know that) so i go with her cause faz said he saw the one in amsterdam (if u see one u see them all, thats his theory) so me and viv, just the two of us, viv went to the front desk to ask where to go, they ask us to ask the hotel taxi, ok, taxi driver said ok, we take u there we take u back + free drink only 800 baht per person. viv said ok, then we keluar from the hotel, i thought we gonna take a normal cab, sekali tengok the hotel cab. ITS A VOLVO. big muscle car.

On the way to Pat Pong District = Tiger show
me: viv this is so embarassing, its like we're goin to a red carpet show
viv: i know.. we're in a volvo *laugh*Cabbie: teegarsh shaw??
viv: what? sorry we dont speak thai
me: viv i think he's taking about tiger show.
viv: oh shit *laugh*
me: (talking to cabbie) yes yes tiger show
*laugh some more*

The cabbie brought us to pat pong district and once there got this guy open the car door for us. punya lah malu, there we are walking out from this volvo looking like budak sekolah kecik and all the other cabbies waiting for their charge was waiting outside looking at us. viv swear they were snikkering at us. ok .... take a deep breathe. once we enter the door the first thing we saw was a couple on stage about to do the deed. we either came in too early or too late. in the end we end watching the crowd. now there's a sight. all the front sitter were all middle age males ... mhmm... not much foreigners tho, a bit here and there. after the somewhat 5 star show over, the bored couple actually bowes to the crowd all of them clap hands. then 3 girls go up on stage dancing selamba.

viv: toy, i cant tell whether they all guys or girls.
me: i think i watch too many hollywood movies, this is so boring!!

They dance for 15 mins at one point i was looking at the bar and this two ladies, middle age, sagging everywhere, wearing a bikini, actually trying to pick up the guys at the bar, some deals going on i think, at that time on stage one girl came up and play with herself i dunno with ice or ping pong ball. i couldnt take it anymore i think my face was distorted with disgust either that i turn green, viv saw me and said "toy lets go i value my friends more than satisfying my curiosity". man, cant believe the huge amount of relief that exploded in my chest. and so we decided to go back, the guy at door actually said "wat u dont like"... i think we only took 30 mins in that room, our cabbie didnt seem surprise to see us coming out. he probably guessed already we couldnt tahan(actually i couldnt tahan, viv still curious to see whats next).

Reach hotel shower told zar the whole thing and watch faz conked out (too tired to bother), viv and me keep zar company until 0300. work almost done. 3 ppl sleep on one bed cause faz hog the other bed. supprisingly the bed didnt collapse on us. manage to sleep quite well. mhmm...

memorable moments: zar called housekeeping for a kettle
faz: zar ask for a kettle
zar: u ask lah call housekeeping
faz: there's no house keeping on the dial in this phone
viv: call reception then they can forward to house keeping
zar: hello? i would like to ask for a kettle.
ady on the other line: ..............
zar: they say call house keeping.
viv: oops sorry
faz: what number they ask to press?
zar: 6 i think?........ hello? can we ask for a kettle to be sent to the room?
lady: ..................
zar: ok ... (hang up) ..... woman i dunno what they say so i say ok only.
viv: what did they say?
zar: i dunno they say something like 'kree up' do you think it's clean up?
viv: *laughing* i think u're right lah call them back
zar: oh no ......... hello? no i dont want to clean up room i want kettle. no u dont have? it's ok thank you.
Everyone burst out laughing.

Day 4

(160905 friday)
somehow this day is quite relaxing, we all forgoe the floating market cause zar cannot make it she still got somemore last minute check before she email her report to her prof. so faz wanted to keep her company, so me and viv decided to walk around first lah, no need to waste time.

Took the train to siam station, walk around siam square, have breakfast at some alley, there's a lot of choices of mix rice and noodles, quite cheap, mine was 35 baht, didnt dare try the tom yam after i saw one local girl actually suffering while eating it, after breakfast viv got this smart idea to ride the sky train all the way to the end for sight seeing then ride it all the way back. cheap way to see bangkok right?! so we took the train from siam station to sala daeng station but we ride on till the end which is saphan taksin, get to see all the other shopping complexes, we saw a few abandon projects, more posters of the queen and some temple altho not as big as the grand palace temples. then went back to sala daeng station, decided to check out the silom plaza.

I think after MBK all the other shopping malls looks very empty. nothing much here cept for the food, ground floor they have this food bazzar then whole ground floor, so me & viv decide to walk around and have a look see, everywhere we go all the food vendors tried to push some free samples, got all kinds of food, they even packed some ulats, in the end we end up just walking by, too intimidated maybe to buy haha.

Had lunch in fuji restaurant, lots of ppl queuing up to in so in must be good. actually the price was damn cheap. viv had the salmon plater set, i took the gatsudon i think, rice with chicken and covered in egg. big portions no wonder a lot of ppl. our meal only cost 330 baht. zar called they all in central plaza, they all also had japanese for lunch, then we took the sky train meet up in asia books in central plaza, before heading to chit lom station we rode all the way to the end of sukhumvit line to On Nut station. here we get to see the suburbs and also get a glimpse of the port, not much of malls and not much bustling and hustling, its more urban like. after that we head back to Chit Lom station went into Gaysorn plaza then crossover the jejantas to central plaza, after asia books, we decided to go to the handicraft centre next to Gaysorn plaza, then decided to head on to MBK (yes thats our fav mall at the moment).

Decided to walk along the sky walk instead of taking the sky train. walk along erawan square and there's stalls selling flowers, we were wondering why of all places they sell it here then futher along we found out why. there's a shrine nearby, so ppl buy these flowers and offer it to the gods or something. money making man. anyway reach MBK walk around somemore, then stop at Mc.D to buy Samurai Pork Burger and wait for Esther. Her flight was delayed from Singapore so she only landed 1800++ , meet up with Esther (two mins in MBK and she already bought a pair of sandals) then we split up she & viv , me, faz & zar ... after another round of shopping we decided to go back to hotel (my kaki sakit) naik the tuk tuk. faz complain all the way that the tuk tuk got no air bags got no seat belt. i tell you these tuk tuk drivers also can masuk the motor GP, sure grand prize at the rate they all goin and the how they turn corners and overtake all the big car, i think the big cars more afraid of them instead of the other way round, hahah tuk tuk ride was 60 bath, fun and scary ride all mix together, adrenalin rush it's great, took less that 5 mins. then after mandi me & zar wanted to go for foot massage. faz tapau food and stay in hotel room.

Found one massage parlour near the hotel, only 200 baht for one hour. heavenly. the owner of the massage parlour actually from KL, chinese, he married a local, but he's based in new zealand, then ngam ngam school holiday so he balik with his anak, his wife actually runs the place. he said we only tried the appetizers & main course (foot, shoulder & head) if we wanted the dessert we gotta go for another hour of full body massage then the thai experience would be complete. we say we come back tomorrow, cause its almost 2330, we need to get ready for chatuchak tomorrow. back to the hotel room, viv & esther have arrived with all their successful shopping (faz bumped into them when he went to tapau his food earlier), shoes, clothes, skirts &more shoes. esther tapau Pat Thai (seafood noodles thai style)from the stalls near 7-11.

Viv ask for extra bed then faz and me have to hide in the toilet when they come up to install the extra bed. max 3 ppl in one room and we all already 5, so u get the drift why we in toilet. everyone sleep in early, exited to go to chatuchak. esthers alarm 0600, zar's alarm 0715.

memorable moment: waiting for extra bed
esther: okay when the guy come everyone act cool and walk slowly to the toilet
viv: ya we all can hear you running and laughing from outside. so ketara.
zar: i go in the toilet with them lah, i wanna brush my teeth so wont look suspicious why toilet door close.
*door bell*
esther: they're here *crash* (bag fell down)
everyone else: ssssssshhhhhhhh!!!
*silent laughter* ... me and faz creep in to toilet ...
(so much for keeping quiet)

Day 5

(170905 saturday)

woke up to zar's alarm, esther already in toilet mandi. me & esther decided to have breakfast behind the hotel, the 20 baht noodle while waiting for the rest to finish mandi and getting ready. then off to chatuchak weekend market, split up to two groups, this time i follow esther & viv, the place is huge, camera cannot take the whole place.

Massive!! everyone bought something, bags, sandals, anklet, skirts, t-shirts..... 2 hours in the market, felt like vomitting, find open area, need fresh air. found toilet. do business while viv & esther continue shopping. after toilet continue to shop somemore, i pump 2 bottles of fresh squeezed orange juice into my system. esther says its the heat cause its almost noon.

1230 meet up with zar & faz, have lunch somewhere then split up again to continue shopping. zar said they might go to suan lum later in the evenin so meet up in the hotel after everythings done. viv & esther super fit lah dunno how they do it, my kaki pain again so i go take a break eat thai ice cream potong (10 baht), they got durian flavour but i take chocolate, dont want another visit to the toilet. halfway eating ice cream got 3 japanese dudes came walking also wanted to buy ice cream, one ordered taro, one i forgot what one the last guy ordered the durian ice cream, i think he only took one bite and then they all burst out laughing and i think it took them a while to take the second bite. haha, finish ice cream spotted viv then join them for another round shopping.

They actually sell puppies and kittens and even squirrels, so kacian tengok all of them, but if u wanna buy one have to go kl put in quarantine for 2 months then another month quarantine back home, so all in all 3 months baru u can bring the pup home, by that time not cute pup anymore so no point. anyway finally left chatuchack at 1600, go back to hotel, mandi then go eat at MK (esther insisted to belanja us if we kawan her go makan at MK).

There's one MK restaurant at siam station so we went to that one. ordered pork balls, bacon (also pork ... duh..), pork liver slice, green noodle, er.... did i say its a stemboat restaurant? i didnt? ... ok now u know lah .... er ok what else .... wuntun, mushroom, japanese tofu, normal square tofu, fish balls .... some vege's i think? ... all in all there's 15++ items we ordered between the three of us. hehe the orang putih next table also heran how we all finish all that food. hahaha then we walk all along siam square, so much cheap stuff, bought sweater, viv bought somore work pants, esther bought 3 of that, somehow we end up in MBK but before goin to MBK we stop over one shoe shop, donno how long they all haggle and tried on how many pairs of shoes, i just waited at the side, then wait punya wait sempat again buy wallet (150 baht) at a shop next door, haha, viv bought 2 pairs, esther refuse to buy cause the shopkeeper refuse to reduce price, dua dua keras kepala, then we when to one shop where viv & esther lupa their bajus yesterday. lucky the lady kept the bag and remember them. then split up with esther cause she still wanting to look at shoes. me & viv went up to 4th floor, ran all the way to the handicraft section only to find out it's closed. fine got one more handicraft shop at level 1, ran all the way down, shop still open but didnt sell the stuff that we wanted. hampa. then took the lift to 3rd floor buy 12 packets of keropok, 3 for 100 baht, hantam buy all. after that ran all the way down to watsons to meet up with esther. yep really like amazing race. i think i langgar one stray budak. dont' care kaki already starting to throb. (yes my kaki will never recover ... i need another massage). meet up with esther, she manage to buy the shoes that she wanted with the prices that she wanted after all (in another shoe shop).

Time check 2130. its almost closing time for MBK, viv haven't riden the tuk tuk so i suggest we take one to the hotel. out of MBK drizzling. mhhmmm first rain since i bought the payung.. see my theory almost 100% correct. we went down on the wrong side of the jejantas. so we naik balik and crossed over to the other side. tuk tuk ride this time lagi scary cause hujan, if skidded lagilah we wish for airbags. viv was laughing all the way. i think this tuk tuk driver if they know we all tourist lagi laju they all drive. habis basah we all, the locals inside the bus laugh when they saw us. haha. fun tho. at least viv get to ride it. haha. back to hotel, wait for zar & faz.

Start packing and kira hutangs. zar wanted to go for body massage but everyone got no more money. habis bising the room, trying on bajus, skirts, shoes ..... everything lah. if cannot fit pass to the other person, got buy and sell in the room. havoc. esther suddenly got sore throat, she said too much MK food. so she sleep early after eating panadol while the rest of us still busy packing.

memorable moments no.1: MK (paying the bill)
esther: you take credit card?
waiter: yes.esther: ok i belanja u all..... (open wallet) .... lapse 2 seconds ..... "Where's my credit card?!!!!!!!!"
viv & me: what?? me: u didnt bring it?
esther: alamak! i left it in my other bag in the hotel room. so stupid!!!
(everyone burst out laughing incl. the waiter, dunno he understands or not he still waiting there shy shy ketawa)

esther: no viv, lemme pay you back! i'm the one suppose to belanja, my idea to come here and eat.

esther: no no no, my birthday i wan something else, something nicer.
viv: no i pay (give money to waiter)
esther: no i pay. (give money to waiter)
viv: no i pay (give back money to esther)
esther: no vivi i pay. (put money back to waiters hand)
viv: no i pay, listen to me i pay (take money from waiter's hand give own money)
esther: no it's not right i pay (put back money to waiter's hand)
me & waiter: *silent laugh* .... (this goes on for another 30 seconds or so...... in the end viv pay .... i think i saw waiter wipe his forehead when he turn .... 668 baht i think)

memorable moments no.2: finding tuk tuk after coming out of MBK
esther: toy u sure u wan to naik tuk tuk
me: viv haven riden one yet so give chance to her lah
viv: u dont simply use my name i know u want to naik again!!

viv: you yang stop!!!
esther: oh yeah. (everyone burst out laughing while walking up the stairs)

Day 6

Final day (180905 sunday)

zar, viv & esther decided to go to chatuchak because zar wanted to change one baju she bought for her dad, me and faz decide to just sleep in. too tired to walk. actually i run out of cash so nanti sakit hati only cannot buy anything. so them lot promise to be back by 1100 cause need to check out and be at the arport by noon.

so they left, real early, 0700 already hilang batang hidung. me & faz woke up at 1000, mandi and read newspaper, malas wanna go out, the girls came back 1100 so ngam timing, apparently they all went to MBK again. haha so last minute pack, double check the rooms, faz lose his padlock, zar found it under the bed. left all the almost empty contact lens solution, shampoos, soaps..... malas wanna carry back bikin berat only. so viv, esther & faz went down first, me & zar triple check the room. ok done. down we go.

while the 3 girls when to settle the bill (since supposedly only 3 girls occupy the room) faz went and get us a volvo cab that can fit all 5 luggages. i think this guy masa zaman jepun lari lari always play tetris. so terror him susun all the luggage, actually got space for one more, well it helps also lah his car volvo, but no i stick to my point, he played tetris masa zaman kanak-kanak. see playing games is not all that bad. straying....... ok back to my story. cab to airport only cost 600 baht, plus we no need to pay toll, that a good bargain. so settle the bill all the girls sit behind, faz ride shotgun. the ride to the airport only takes us 35 mins more or less cause we took the expressway. get to see the victory monument along the way. reach airport check in at 1235 everyones luggage didnt exceed the maximum weight so alright mine was 13.5kg haha still got extra 1.5kg, pay airport tax 500 baht.

went to this place called Hana Hana to cari makan, everyone ordered rice, had american fried rice for 100 baht, then dessert at dairy cream, had frech vanilla ice blended for 65 baht (the whipped cream sucks tho.). esther's flight to singapore at 1635 so we lepak a bit kasih teman her before we check in at 1400. finally check in thru customs and all, faz panic for a bit cause airport tax receipt suddenly misplaced dunno where, but found it tersisip between pages in his passport. take the shuttle then board the plane ...

one memorable moment: inside the shuttle about to disembark to board plane
faz: hey i seen that bag before (pointing at one luggage at the foot of the stairs of the plane ... the luggage guys waiting)
zar: toy its ur luggage!!me: what? where?
(approach ppl there, they say they dont dare to put in my luggage cause got tear so i need to sign some acknowledge sticker)
me: it's ok i sign it
(tengah sign form)
viv: should take picture of this, u signing on ur luggage.
(everything ok, then board plane)
viv: well at least now u know ur luggage is on this plane and not lost
me: oh ya lor
(both laughing)
zar: (inside plane miming) *i can hear u both laughing, so loud*

inside plane, settle down, take off, took some picture of bangkok landscape, no mountains, no bukits, took picture of the river, faz & zar promply fell asleep, viv follow soon after, leave me alone looking out the window. one hour later decided to sleep. 1830 safely arrived kota kinabalu terminal two. slight delay but everyone's fine. queing up at the custom check i wish i was back in bangkok. dang!! i wanna go back..... oh well, over and out.

Slacking!

Ever had one of those days when everything goes extra slow? like someone purposely pushes the slow button, like John Woo's movie... 1 minutes seems like forever. sigh... then when the day finally ends, u go back home, u tuned in to reruns... same old same old. To make matters worst dreamless nights becomes somewhat action packed, car chasing, guns blazing nightmare! Geessh. then u wake up more tired then before u went to bed. might as well dun sleep at all.

Whats the purpose of dreams anyway? are they telling us something? 4D number? the answers to life lessons? our future maybe?

Yawn!... so tired. it must be the dreams i had last night, weird thing about dreams, once u wake up, if u dont try to remember it straight-away, u'll forget about it completely. then when it happens in real life, you get the 'deja vu' experience, then you blur the whole day trying to figure out if u 'did that' or 'went thru that' already. So.... i blur. Anybody out there who knows how to intrepret dreams? Better still gimme a website that can do all that.... Yawnn....

Hola?! somebody just bring in mooncake to the office. suddenly i feel so refreshed, haha, gotta go, food's calling.
