So much drama

We went out to dinner at Chelsie's favorite restaurant tonight, Chili's, but it was not an enjoyable experience. Every time she tried to take a bite her front teeth would start bleeding. Before long, tears were streaming down her face and she was becoming very dramatic. I took her outside where her nose started bleeding from her stress. It was quite a bloody mess. I proceeded to pull her teeth but, from her screams and protests some passerbys must've wondered what was going on. Tears quickly turned to laughter. The tooth fairy has a house call to make tonight!

Family

We are staying with my brother Joseph and his wife, Sara, and their 3 kids, Nicole, Jacob, and Joshua. The kids are having fun with their cousins. My brother Matt and his wife Milli, and their new baby Elisa came down from Rexburg to have dinner with us. It's been great seeing them all.

We built this house....with our skillz

We drove up to Idaho on Saturday to help my brother Joseph work on his house. We added a window and nailed on siding. It was very cool to have this experience. Thanks Joseph!

Dinner with friends

We were able to meet up with the Grants and the Bills for dinner right after we arrived in Provo on Friday night. It was fun catching up!

Squeaky Cheese

Heather Mower told us about a fun place to stop in Beaver, Utah--the Cheese Factory. We really thought it would be a tiny little hole in the wall place, but it was actually packed full of people when we were there. We bought "squeaky cheese" and had fun listening to it squeak in our mouths. Thanks Heather!

Yogurtland!!!

Before heading out of Las Vegas, we made one more stop at Yogurtland for my new favorite treat! It was yummy! Here are some pictures to make you hungry.

Shop, shop, shop

While we've been staying in Las Vegas, we've been able to visit with family and friends, eat at fun restaurants, and spend a few hours shopping. Yesterday, my friend DeeLynn took us to a new mall in town, http://www.townsquarelasvegas.com/. It's an outdoor mall, (it was only 105 degrees-but they have misters everywhere!) and it's set up like a little town. It's very cute, with a ton of fun shops, and even a little water garden and sprinklers for the little ones to run thru. We stopped at Yogurtland for a cold treat and it was delicious---a must try! We had dinner at the Yard House which is a favorite of ours from our visits to Palm Springs. The mall also has a very plush movie theatre. I highly recommend adding this to your shopping experience while visiting Las Vegas. I wanted to add a couple of links of my favorite scrapbook shops in town also. Julie Jane is a cute shop that always updates their inventory--http://thejuliejanepapercompany.blogspot.com/, and Pebbles in my Pocket http://www.pebbleslasvegas.com/, which is right upstairs from Deseret Book. I also discovered a fun home decor shop, Kirkland, at Boca Park 8950 W. Charleston Blvd. with great prices.

EFY

No pictures today. Wes flew up to UT on Saturday with Spencer, Michael Scott, and Jamie. It was the first time he has flown since he was young. The only other time he can remember was on a private leer jet of a very generous friend of ours. Wonder how that will compare? They will be checking into EFY today along with the Grant boys, the Johnson boys, and a few others from our ward. They are all very excited! We drove to Vegas for the weekend, and have enjoyed going to church at our old ward here, catching up with a few friends, and playing games with our good friends the Prestons. They are a true game playing family and put our collection to shame. I love it that we played games for 12 hours and we all wanted to play more, but we finally gave into the clock. We look forward to the next time!

Little babies in California can rest safely tonight, Wes is acting as heroic Batman!

Tonight Wes is going with friends to the Batman Premiere at midnight. They got their tickets last week, but still went down at 6pm to stand in line for good seats. He wore his batman cape and for a while even had his hair twisted into pointed ears. I like how Heather put it, "I guess you won't be looking for girls tonight!" I guess it would be true love, if a girl thought he looked charming dressed that way! We were able to babysit Ethan and Megan for just a bit today, and Wes even took a turn holding her. Ethan got into the spirit of the movie and played with Wes' old Batman figures, and little Megan is just a doll. We spent the whole time holding her and taking pictures.

Cakeprint

Jamie brought a cake to park night. We sat it right on our blanket. Chelsie didn't see it and stepped right onto it. You can see her footprint on the right. Thank goodness for Saran Wrap!

It starts young....

Poor Clint! He had several little girls chasing him at the park. Ethan was trying to help Clint out, he was even tackling girls occasionally! A few tackled back!

2 Front Teeth

Chelsie's 2 top teeth are very loose. Watch closely to see her pushing them with her tongue. I suspect they will be coming out very soon!

Laugh Out Loud

Happy Birthday Tracy! Last night we joined a few couples and headed down to El Trocadero for dinner and to watch "The Society". (www.jointhesociety.com/). It's a very funny, clean improv show at the Repertory East Theatre in Newhall. They perform usually once a month and tickets are reasonably priced at $12. We were a bit concerned at first because Kirby Heyborne was not present, and he is hilarious. As the show went on, we realized the rest of the cast was very capable of making us laugh until we cried. They each have their comedic strengths and played well off of each other last night. Character " 5 year old Hunter" will be etched in my memory for quite some time! They even had the audience singing "That's one Hot Dog" at one point in the show. I highly recommend you check out the show if you're in this area!

No ifs, ands, or buts about it!

We spent the day at the Aquarium of the Pacific with our friends, Daleen, Hannah and Aliza Hoskins, and Mimi, Natalie, and Rebecca Hudson. What a great day! We fed lorakeets, touched rays and starfish, watched sharks eat, had a picnic, climbed a tree, learned about awesome creatures, and enjoyed the company!

Dinner in LA

Last night we joined our college friend, Doug Mecham and his family at dinner in Marina del Rey at the Cheesecake factory on the marina. It was fun catching up! We're so glad they fit us into their vacation!

Beach Bums

Today we headed to Oxnard State Beach for the afternoon. We had fun boogie boarding, playing in the sand, playing volleyball, flying kites, soaking in the sun, and burying Bret. So many things we love about the beach!!!
