A new computer is now in the 'to buy list' as of ASAP. Well, not really that soon but we are already starting to read computer reviews so we know which one we should get once we decide to get a new one. Right now we have 4 computers and a netbook. Yep, 4...but we don't use 2 of them. One is our oldest PC which is about 5 or 6 years old, maybe older. Hubby said we should probably sell it in one of those online auction for 10 bucks...LOL. The other one we don't use is my old laptop. It still works fine when it's working but there are times that it just suddenly shuts down. We don't really know what's wrong with it but I'm having a hard time parting with it that's why we still have it. Maybe in time I'll be able to part ways with it...or not. Maybe the little one can just inherit it, eh? Anyway, we still don't know what type of computer we will be getting. We're still debating whether we'll get a PC or just another laptop. We are lean...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Since I got this new laptop for Christmas, I have been thinking what to do with the old one. That one served me well for more than 6 years. True it crashed on me at least a couple of times but I used it to its full capacity. If I remember it right, it's even a refurbished one but it lasted for as long as it did. It's still working fine except it's a bit slow. That's probably because it's almost full. Can you imagine how much stuff is on its hard drive? It's 6 years worth of 'savings'...of files I mean. I already deleted a lot but I still have a lot stored in it. I may give it to the little one so she can hook up her Art Studio software on it but I may have to get an external hard drive so I can transfer all my files in there. I can transfer the files on this computer but I'd rather not. I like that this is still uncluttered and I'm planning in letting it stay that way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That is the question! With all that we have to buy with the big move, there is one more thing we need to buy [or not to buy]. I've been blogging here that my ever dependable laptop is already 6 years old, well almost. Considering how much I use it, this laptop can be considered much older than that as it's on 7 days a week for at least 14 hours a day. So yes, we are thinking of retiring it in the near future. Originally, we wanted to buy a similar one or a better one but the financial aspect of that is a bit of a concern for the reason I already mentioned. Our next choice would be to buy the cheaper kind with less features then just buy a laptop memory card. That way, we won't spend the extra dollars for the features that I don't really use in those more expensive laptops. We have not really decided yet which way to go but I have to decide really soon as I feel my beloved lappy is about to take it's last breath.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have had this computer of mine since late 2002. Yep, it’s about 6 years old but it’s still very dependable. With all the spending we are doing because of the new house, our plan of ‘retiring’ my computer may take a while. Instead of buying a new computer, we are now planning in getting a new RAM for it. So finding a good computer memory card is now what I need and I may just found the place to find it…4allmemory.com! It has computer RAM upgrades from all major manufacturers like Compaq and Dell. I just hope my ancient computer won’t retire on its own before I can afford a new computer.

Some of my first blogger friends probably remember these neat stuff that can be done with your computer and/or mouse. I'm posting them again in case you have not seen them. Just a couple. Instead of throwing these parts away, mouse, you can make something out of it first.....for fun.

I got an email from a friend with pictures on some funny 'Innovative Use of Old Computers'. I believe they're from Nidokidos . So if you have an old computer sitting around collecting dust, why not put it to use....hehehe
