Annual Rogers Camping Trip

The last weekend of August we had our annual camping trip with my family. As always, we had a great time. Here are a few pictures.

Ice Cream Truck

A few weekends ago Kala and I were cleaning up from our yard sale. It was hot and we were tired, and the ice cream truck drove by just at the right time. We bought a few for us and a Shrek ice cream popsicle for Shelby. She loved it! The world was great, until it fell off the stick and onto the pavement. I am a mean mom and I wouldn't let her eat it, and as you can see, Shelby was a little upset. Maybe next time I hear the ice cream truck we can get another one.

Trip to the Zoo

On September 18 Shelby and I went to the Phoenix Zoo with Keely and her family, my Aunt Marla and her family, and Alec and Brecka. It was very very very hot, but we still had fun. My camera died, so I didn't get very many pictures, but here are a few. PS Happy Birthday Trey!

Shelby loves her horse. She hops on it whenever she gets the chance. She even gives it kisses and hugs. She used to be scared of it (it moves its head and neighs when you push the button). I'm glad she changed her mind about it. Good find Ronnie - thank you!

Laser Fun

Dustin found a laser pointer and we have been having a lot of fun with it. Here is a video of me teasing Maya, and Shelby laughing about it.

Seattle Trip

I had a business trip in Seattle a few weeks ago. Dustin flew up and while I was at work he hung out with his sister Chantel (who lives in Olympia, WA). We had sushi, went to Pike's Place Market, ate at the Waterfront with my co-workers, and Dustin and Chantel took Shelby to the aquarium while I was working. It was great to see Chantel and we had a wonderful mini-vacation!

Havasupai 2010

On August 13-15 Dustin, Jera, Shelby and I took a trip with friends down to Havasupai. It was my third time, Dustin's second, and Jera and Shelby's first time. We drove on Thursday after work and slept in the car, for an early hike on Friday morning. Shelby did awesome! She didn't cry during the 10 mile hike to the camp grounds and she even took naps when she was tired. Once we got there she continued to prove she can hike and camp with the best of us. I could tell by some of the looks we got that people thought we were crazy to bring a baby, but she did so good. I had a hard time with the hike - I forget how bad my knees are. I think that will be the time I go. It was beautiful and it was a great experience though!

Dustin standing by the "new" falls (this wasn't visible before the flood last year). There was a lot of mud and the falls seems so much smaller. The campgrounds didn't have all the trees either. It was still beautiful, but I have to admit it wasn't near as breathtaking as the first time I went.

Hiking down to Mooney Falls. This was one of the scariest moments of my life. My flip flops didn't have traction and it was steep and slippery. There were moments when I had to hold onto chains so I wouldn't fall. But what was even scarier was the thought of something happening to Dustin and Shelby. They were right behind me. We made it though and had a great time.

Makellen turns 2

My niece Makellen turned two on the 16th. She has a huge personality. She can be trouble (especially when we are shopping), but she can be very sweet and loving. She loves to dance and copy everyone. I can already tell she is super smart. She is a lot of fun. Keely had a "Fun in the Sun" party for her. The kids loved the water and cake. I guess if you are going to live in Phoenix the only way to have fun outside in July is incorporating water.

My Little Vampire

In the month of July Shelby got 6 new teeth. She got 4 molars and two new top teeth, but not the two front teeth, the sides (I think the technical term is lateral incisors). She looked like a little vampire when she smiled. :)

Alec and Brecka's Wedding

My brother Alec got married on July 10, 2010 to Brecka Muder! They are perfect together and I am so excited for them. The sealing ceremony was wonderful and it was great to have all my family together. Here are some photos:
