I am thankful for

The Book of Mormon. I am greatful for the truthfullness of it and the clarity it brings to the bible. I am thankful for the comfort it brings and the spirit I feel when reading it. I am greatful for the testimoney it gives of Jesus Christ. I am greatful for the teachings that can be found in it!

November 3rd

I am Thankful For....

I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. I am thankful His atoning sacrifice that He made for me. I am grateful for Christ's example of love for all people and of serving all of those around Him. I am grateful for all he did for me.

I am Thankful for.....

My mom and dad. They are the best parents anyone can have. I am thankful for thier continual love and support. I am thankful for their example of giving service with all their heart might mind and strength. I am greatful for their example of working hard at every moment of the day and always doing something. ( You would know this by if you ever have sat down at night to watch the news or a movie with them they are falling asleep within seconds of sitting down). I am greatful for their example of fulfilling a church calling to the best of their abilities and doing a 110% job at it. Thanks mom and dad for all that you do for me and the love you so freely give!!

I am Thankful for......

Okay so I have decided that for everyday this month I am going to post about one thing that I am thankful for.
So to begin with I am thankful for can you guess?

Yep that's right I am thankful for my family. They are so wonderful. I am thankful for their unconditional love and support. I am greatful for their example and for the oportunity I have to spend time with them! Love you guys!!!

First Snow Jitters

So it has officiall started to Snow here in Logan Utah. Burr its cold but I think i am enjoying it for now. We will see how i feel about it in coming months but i like it right now. I am enjoying sleeping in the cold nights and snuggling under the covers. Its fun!!! I am so excited for the up coming holidays and time with family!! Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween!!!!

The Canadian Tenors

Hair Due Run Through

My friend Allie at work is getting married next month and I have been helpping her get ready. Our co worker Rebecca and I went with her dress shopping and have run through ideas for hair and makeup with her. Allie has asked me to do her hair and so last Thursday we did a run through on makeup and hair due. Here is what it looks like.

They got the Boot

About two Thursdays ago I was driving home from a very stressful day at work and came to find a little predicament in my parking lot. I was able to park my car but noticed that this tan car(who had a parking sticker for the lot and should know better) had parked in a place that is not identified as a parking spot. They not only created their own spot but they inconviniently blocked anyone who was parked behind our apartment from being able to get out of the parking lot. Since I was feeling quite witty with myself I went in to my apartment and grabbed a small sticky note and wrote them a note. In my note it said.
Dear friend ,

This is not a parking spot.your blocking all the people in back who cant get out cause your car is in the way. Please move it.

Thanks your friends from Pink House !!

PS. you might get booted if you don't move. = $70.00

I figured that this was a friendly hint and i really had the intent of saving them $70.00 if they would move before the booter got there. When I went to put the sticky note on the car I saw that it was already booted :( So probably because i was feeling witty I stuck the note on there anyways. I probably should not have done it but i rationalized that they need to know that they inconvenienced many people in our lot. So here is what it looked like!!

Bryce Canyon

So we went to Bryce Canyon with the Busby clan and it was a blast!! We loved seeing the formations in the mountains. We went on a long hike and Ellen was such a big girl she walked the whole way. It was fun to go camping with them. We had a blast and created many memories Here are some of my favorite pictures from that trip!!

Wisconsin!!!

For my birthday my mom and dad flew me out to spend the week with Melanie, James, and Virginia. I had a great time just spending time with them and playing games. We went on a tour of the state capital where I learned that one of their governers went on to be one of the goveners of Utah. We went to the zoo and it was fun to see how much Virginia enjoyed seeing the animals. We went to the Opera in the Park, and the American Girl Doll sale. Melanie also introduced me to ice cream from the Chocolate Shop. Which I say is devine!! I loved taking Virginia on walks and seeing enviorment in Madison and the diffrent archetecture there! I can't wait to go back for another visit!!

Continued Family Fun!!

So Eric broght Stephanie and the kids out to Utah for the month of July and they stayed at mom and dads house. It was so much fun to play with them and see them for a long time. Again since there are many pictures I felt a cologe would be best to be able to see many of the photos we took!!!

Craftyness

So a couple of weeks ago I made this bag on the right and I just love it! The colors are fun and the bag is really cute!! I love how big it is and that I can stick many things inside of it! What i really love is that I can throw it over my sholder comfortably and reach in and grab things easily as well. Then I got the idea to make hair pins so I took the Idea from the flower on the purse to make hair flowers and what I got is on the left.! I am quite pleased with myself for thinking of putting the two together!!!

I know that for the past few blogs I have posted many videos from You Tube but I think that this next one is like one of the best. My mission companion shared this on facebook and i think that this is cute. This couple who have been married for over sixty years set up appointments to get complete examinations done the didn't realize that it would take over a week but they had breaks and they found a really nice baby grand piano or grand piano ( i don't know which) in the lobby of the place they were getting examinations done. well they found a sign on the piano saying if you want to play it go ahead and do so so they did and this is what they played.

My only wish is that I can be senescent and filled with spunk like them!!

Never Walk Alone

Music is very meaningful and i love when music touches my heart and I feel peace especially when passing through a hard time. Forgive me for I think I might have already blogged about this song but I just love it. It has so much meaning for everyone as they walk through troubled times. It is a song of hope and reminds us that we never walk alone in life. Its a very inspring song and I love this performance by Sissel. She has an amazing voice and I tihnk this is my favorite way this song has been perforemed hope you all will enjoy.

All the fun we have had in Madison Wisconsin it has been a blast Thanks Melanie, James, and Virginia for making this such a fun trip for me!

Independence Day

The 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday. Why? There are many reasons why it is my favorite. I love how united we all have as we celebrate the birth of this wonderful nation. I love it when we sing the National Anthem in church it only happens once a year and i am very disappointed when they chose not to have us sing it. I love the fire works that we use to celebrate the day, Going to the Freedom Festival parade with my family in Provo, The barbecue that always happens.

But what I really love is that we remember what was done for us by those who founded our nation. I am grateful for those who risked there lives to form this country, for those who boldly signed their name on the constitution. I am grateful for this country that was prepaired so the restoration of the gospel could happen.

last but not least what I love about this holiday is the music. and it is not the 4th of July without John Phillip Sousa, and the Stars and Strips Forever!!!

The 4th of July

Craftyness!!

So I decided that i need yet another project to work on so I found this cross stitch that i just love. all the beautiful flowers and it just reminds me o a European street. The last cross stitch I did like took me about 6 years to do working on and off. My roommate thinks that I can get it done by the end of summer. I think my realistic goal will be for the end of the year at the earliest. It will be a fun thing to do while listening to music, watching a movie, or listening to a book on CD.

for example i went to the library today and got a raft of movies that look interesting and also The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe in spanish to listen to. I had started reading it in spanish but ran out of time so i am going to listen to it in spanish now. I am excited.

Spring 2010 roommate fun!

So this past year at school has been a blast here is i think our one and only picture with us not in our Pajamas that we are proud of.

Apparently Valene felt she wasn't getting enough privacy while on the phone in our room so she decided to try talking on he phone under the bed.

After realizing that I could still hear her, later that same week she tried just hidding behind the dresser and got the same result.

Here Kacee is mourning that her best friend Shane is heading off to the MTC to prepare to go to the Rome, Italy mission .

So these have been some of the memrable moments this past spring. thanks for the fun times!!

A Bunny Fun Time!

When I was a child I remember one of my most favorite things to play with was with my bunny family that lived inside of a carrot.

My Grandma Hock had made this for me and my siblings to play with. My mom and I got an idea at about Thanksgiving that we would make replicas of these to give two my nieces Ellen and Olivia to play with. We could not find the pattern that my grandma used when she made ours so we set out to use the bunny family we have and their carrot to draw out a pattern that we could use. After many hours of work on the bunnies we were very pleased with the results!

A million bucks!!!

Spring Break was this week and Monday found me at Joann's looking for material for a project I am thinking about starting. Well I didn't end up getting anything for that project but decided that I need to have a sewing project during the break and found a cute pattern and fabric and decided to make a dress. I spent Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon and evening sewing and finished the dress. It was the first piece of clothing that I have sewn for myself. I was really nervous but the pattern said it was easy. So I read the directions and began sewing. It was a fun project to work through. I wore the dress and I felt like a million bucks. I got alot of compliments at church and many were amazed that I made it for myself. Those compliments were great to get but honestly, it feels so great to be in something that I made for myself without help! It feels the same as when a child learns to tie their own shoe with help and they feel so great that they did it!!

MisconsinHere I Come!!!!

Okay so I know that its not Misconsin but Wisconsin. My niece Ellen Calls it Misconsin because my sister Melanie lives there and Ellen just joined the two together so Melanie+ Wisconsin= Misconsin! and that is what we call Wisconsin.

So Yesterday my mom called me and told me that she was sending me something. I natually piqued my curiosity and I thought about it all last night and looked out the window faithfully to see when the mail would get here.

Well the package finally came and I went and picked it up and opened it to find out that for my Birthday my parents are giving me a trip to Misconsin to visit my sister and her family and also to go to the sale at the American Girl Doll factory!! I am so excited and also so grateful for loving parents who have given me the best gift ever of being able to go and visit my sister's family!! Thanks Mom and Dad!!

So on my mission one of my companions had this song called Peace on a cd that a friend sent her. Well we both fell in love with this song but didn't know who sang it or what cd it was from because it was from a colection of cds. Since I got home a year ago I have been on a long search for this song. This past semester my roommates who sing with the instatute choir said that they sung this song last year and informed me of the title and that it was from a EFY cd but they didn't know which one. well today i got on YouTube and found it!! It really made me happy since today we had a womans conference in my stake and we talked about finding Joy in the temple. I thought instantly of this song because it reminds me of the temple. How nice that whoever created this video thought the same because it is acompanied with pictures of temples around the world. So I hope this link works!!

Name Change

Okay so I am not getting a name change but I have made the decision to change the title of my blog. Although I sometimes feel like I am living la vida loca my life really isn't all that crazy. Also I am not a huge fan of Ricky Martin. So I have decided to change it to something more meaningful for me. I have always loved the movie The Sound of Music. If I could only own and watch one movie that would have to be it. It was the first movie that my mom and dad owned after they got married and it is just a classic.

In the past few years I have come to love the song Climb every mountian. I think the message that is in that song is for everyone. No matter what the trials we are going through in this life we need to go through them at the best we can and keep the end goal in our sight.

The Olympic Spirit.

The Olympics what a wonderful experience it is. It is a time when a nation comes together to cheer on the athletes that represent their country.

To cheer on a pair of figure skaters who have dreamed for 15 + years for a gold succeed!!

To watch athletes perform to their best and achieve the goals they have set.

Although I love watching the events especially pairs figure skating and speed skating what i love most about the Olympics is the spirit of the Olympics. Maybe it is also remembering when the Olympics were here in Salt Lake City and the excitement in the air and the memories that were created that year!

I Could Have Danced All Night!!!!

This past Wednesday our Stake had an activity which they called it A Night of Finer Things. Everyone was suppose to come in their prom dresses or in their best dress.My roommate Natalie really wanted to go and ware a dress that she got from being a brides made. I decided that I would go with her. So I got on my favorite polka dot dress and my awesome red shoes that I have. I have to admit that I was not very excited to go to this activity because i had the fear that I would be the only one not in a prom dress because i never went to prom. Any ways so i got ready and then we went to the last half hour of the activity. We went so late because my roommate had a commitment that she couldn't get out of until then. Well we got over to the activity and there were actually more people then i thought would be there. They had art work that people in our stake have done or collect and then they were playing music that you could actually dance to like samba's waltz's or just slow songs. There were people there dancing but a good chunk of girls on the wall and a few boys who just were not dancing. For a little bit i felt like i was back in the sixth grade when we would have grade dances like three times that year and they threatened us with homework if we didn't dance. It was awquard. Well they announce the last song and my roommate who really wanted to dance was asked to dance and i said to myself that i was glad that she got asked to dance because i knew that was what she really wanted to do and it really didn't matter to me that i didn't get to dance( although in my mind i really wanted to dance). About half way through the song Ben came over and asked if I would like to dance and I said yes. Well we danced and had a great conversation. All to soon the dance ended and I thanked Ben for asking me to dance. On my way home the lyrics to I Could Have Dance All Night ran through my mind. I rushed home to tell my other roommates and as i walked into their room, with a huge smile on my face i sang....

" I only know when he began to dance with me. I could have danced, danced, danced, all night!!"
