Birthdays, Sundays and Lazy Days

Yesterday Lindsey spoke at the Successful Mothering Convention at the South Town Expo Center in front of quite a big crowd. She really enjoyed it and has a lot of fun meeting people through her book. Afterwards we all went to lunch and the movies with Grandma Bev. Gabe slept and Paisley made noise. After that Grandma watched the kids at her house while Lindsey and Manuel went on a group date to celebrate (Our brother in law) Jared's birthday. There were 6 couples and we ate at Mazza in Salt Lake. It's a modern restaurant serving Middle Eastern Cuisine. It was absolutely packed so we had to wait an hour until we were seated. Though it took forever and the waiter was horrible, the food was very good. Kind of like Greek food. After that we went to Cherise's and Jared's apartment and met up with more friends and family for cake and ice cream. That's what we love about birthdays, they are a great excuse to get together.

Catching Up!

What a busy year 2009 has turned out to be so far. We celebrated a few birthdays, sold a business, and Manuel went to Las Vegas for a couple of days for work. Lindsey sure had a single mom reality check for those two days.

Lindsey sold one of her businesses (SLC Hair Bandz, the women's head bands) which was good to lessen her work load and was able to invest that money into her other projects. Simplification is the key!

We are also working on redecorating our living room and family room. We were going to repaint the family room but it turned out just having new furniture was all the room needed!

January is not even over and we are exhausted. :)

Happy New Year!

What a way to ring in the new year! We visited Grandpa Roger, Grandma Candice and Great Grandma Cavner to celebrate Grandpa's birthday and had lunch. That night we had a family camp out in the family room with games, treats and movies. Little Gabey was so determined to stay up until midnight that he actually stayed up until 11:30 pm even after we encouraged him to go to sleep. We woke him back up at midnight so he could see the fireworks he wanted to see. He tried so hard to wake up and be alert but his little body couldn't handle the midnight hour and he trembled and cried while he tried to smile and celebrate. Silly little boy. As soon as his little sparkler burned out he went inside and collapsed on his blanket. The kids each woke up every 2 hours crying (it must have been the shock from the celebration overload). We slept in until 10:00 and have to say it felt good. We're excited for 2009!!!
