Gabe Gets Surgery

Gabe had his ear surgery this week! He was at the hospital for 7 hours at Ogden Regional. It went well and he has decided to forever stay away from cotton swabs. They have only caused him harm.

Before surgery Gabe snagged the doctors surgery marker and drew all over his own arm. The hospital gave him a cute little stuffed tiger and a bag of fun things to take home. When Gabe was wheeled back from surgery a dog named "Elvis" came into his room and climbed up on his bed. He was scared of it and later he threw up ll over his hospital bed - twice. Poor guy. Elvis was just doing his job of making sick children smile. Once Gabe got home and rested he recovered great and is already back to his old self.

What a week!!

Valentine's Week

What a week! It was Valentine's day, my Mom's birthday and Paisley had her first clogging performance. She did so great! I made little snack cups to sell at her performance. All the concessions were donated by the parents to earn money for the cost of the building.

My Dad and Candice and came and they brought Paisley a rose. Cambrey was dancing along to the music and wanted to go on stage.

Earlier that day, we took my mom out for lunch at Wing Nuts. Then we celebrated her birthday at her house. She made cupcakes. We gave her a potted rose bush and Johnny Cash's Greatest hits (which is what she asked for).

On Valentine's Day, I made a nice dinner - crab cakes, asparagus, artichoke pasta and garlic bread. I also made chocolate black cherry ice cream cake. Manuel surprised me with a large canvas he made of the Salt Lake temple. It was so beautiful! Then we learned the West Coast swing in the living room (a youtube tutorial). It was so much fun we laughed our butts off! AFter that we played a cheesy valentine game. Then we watched Step it Up 3. It was a fun night!

I've been working on a quilt for Cambrey's bed in the new house. I made the design up - hope it turns out!

Gabe started a tie making business this month and makes custom ties out of construction paper. He also sell them door to door. He also surprised me and made these raisin, water heart Popsicles. He and Paisley thought they were the most delicious treat ever!
