We Love Visitors

What can I say... We love visitors and all the fun they bring to our home. While Gma and Gpa Dahl were visiting we got some fun picture time.  While Travvis and Katie were visiting the kids got some fun bounce time.

Summer fun with syblings

This Summer we started a new thing to try and work things out so that the TV was not on all the time, and so that they could experience different things.  We added a job jar.  They each had their original jobs ie...cleaning room, showering, brushing teeth.  But then they choose two jobs out of the job jar. They could choose if they wanted to do them both at the same time, or one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  After those were done they could turn in a ticket for electronic time.  They were each given 12 tickets for 30 minutes at the start of the week.  But no more than 2 could be redeemed at a time.  If someone else redeemed one for a movie they had to leave the room if their jobs were not done, or turn in a ticket to stay and watch.  If they ran out of tickets before the week was over, they could draw a "special job" and earn more time.  Some of those "special jobs" were take Kassidy to the park for 30 min earn 15 min play time. build a fort and play earn 10 min play time. build a marshmallow and toothpick something earn 10 min. Go on a picture scavenger hunt earn 30 min. The list went on and on. These are some of the pictures from the summer fun.

 One week we did enough extra jobs to earn a pool

 

     Kassidy's job one day was to make a special treat for the family

 Carson, Kassidy and Tristan digging a garden.  This took a few different days and all the family together.

 The garden with flowers, looked much better as they grew bigger.

 Some fun at "Night at the Museum" they opening the natural history museum in Canyon to the public at night, the turned off the lights and we went through the museum with flashlights.  Every once in a while when you would shine your flashlight on someone they would come alive and talk to  you about their era. 

  

 What can we say..... "Are you Hungry?" Grandma Conlin treated us to burger.

 This is how thick it was.  the kids ate and ate and we still had lots of leftovers.

Another one of the point earning cards was to find and identify 10 bugs. This was a new one that no one could figure out.

Blessings..????.....

Blessings, even in hind sight are blessings.  Sometimes they are not easy to see at first, but in the end they are.  We had quite a hard few months.  These are just a few of the blessings that came in disquise.

 Our A/C quit working.  Luckily my brother Travvis was able to come and visit and help to switch out to one that was given by us from someone in our ward.  While he was visiting he also fixed our light that was shaking and found it it was hanging just barely by one wire...... could have fallen at any time.

 Vehicles quit working..... wonder of wonders we had VERY hot wires that would have started a fire had we not caught them.

 

 Zack was in a fender bender.... Luckily the damage was not too bad and no one was hurt.

 

 We went upstairs to have prayer with Zack and the light's kept flickering.  Then his AC unit started going on and off.  Shut it off and pulled the plug.... Man was it hot... We caught it just in time.

 

 What??? you say is that... Well that is our water heater..... I had to put something away in the closet and found this.

 

 

 

 Zack went to move the truck and forgot his phone, as he was walking back out to the truck he saw this tire.

 Boys were playing basketball and Carson tripped, as he fell he started to roll to the side and hit his head on the bolt. If he had not rolled he would have landed right on all the rocks, and cement that is holding the stand down.

 

 Went to see Roger in PA and left a heater on the pipes in the kitchen.  It was one that would go on and off by itself, so we did not really worry about it.  But when I got home the heater was off.  I did not think really anything about it, until I tried to use the outlet and this is what I found.  Melted the heater plug, the phone plug, and blew the outlet.

 

 

Sooo many blessing, Thank you Heavenly Father for looking out for us, even when we did not notice.
