{One Bite At A Time}

As you can tell, Miles pretty much loves to eat anything we give him. In fact, I can only put a small amount out at a time because he literally shoves it in as fast as he can.

{My Mookie}

Today while the boys and I were outside a stray dog wandered into our yard. It was a cute little yorkie with a tag that said "Mookie" and he came right over to us so we played with him for a bit. Well, a little bit turned into a while, and that while turned into hours, so we called the number on the tags. The guy told us that it was no longer his dog and he had given it to a family off of a nearby street with the last name the Richardsons. So I grab the phonebook and start making phone calls. In the meantime, Mac fell in love with Mookie. He and the neighbors found a leash to put him on, walked him around our neighborhood, and got him some food and water. Mac officially told everyone it was "his dog" and that he was going to take it into his room. I finally got a hold of Mookie's real family and they said they would be right over. So we brought him in to cool off. He jumped right onto the couch and laid right next to Mac. It was sooo cute. Mac just kept petting him and said "mom, my puppy." I knew it was going to be tough for Mac to understand that it wasn't his dog and that he couldn't go up to his room with him. Well, Mookie's family came and took him. Mac bawled and said it was his dog.....a stab in my heart. I feel awful. He came inside and was still crying. I went to get the baby from upstairs and came down to find this....poor thing cried himself to sleep.

I have no idea what I am going to tell him when he wakes up and is looking for his dog.

{Thai Night Out}

Last week we celebrated my Grandma Zonnie's birthday by taking a Thai cooking class at Sur La Table. You had to be 18 so it was the 5 oldest grandchildren, my aunts, and my grandma that attended. I'll be honest and say that I don't think I've ever had Thai food prior to this night. We had such a good time and I was really surprised how well everything turned out. In fact it turned out so good that I might have to suggest Thai cuisine the next time we are going out for dinner....oh wait I guess I could just make it myself after taking an entire course on it. (Just goes to show how much I prefer going OUT to eat rather than COOK).

Jenna and I were in charge of the Coconut & Lemongrass Creme Brulee. That sounds pretty fancy doesn't it? Well, it was, but we managed and it also turned out fantastic....in fact me and my cousins all helped ourselves to 2 servings!

It definitely isn't your typical night out, but man did we have a good time. I highly suggest doing something of this nature to anybody, because heck, if I can do it I know you can too.

Saturday night we were lucky enough to celebrate our friend, Bonnie's (aka Bons), birthday. We got a sitter for the kids, headed to the Dodo to enjoy a nice meal, and then kicked up a rug at the Circle Lounge. What a fun night full of friends, food, and dancing! These three are too funny together. Seriously, like giddy little school girls they just laugh and have all sorts of "inside" jokes so half the time the only ones who know what they are talking about is themselves. I guess that's what good friends are for. Great times and lots of laughter.

Saturday Miles got his first tooth! I've been waiting for it to come because the last little bit he's been drooling a ton and just shoves anything he can get into his mouth.

On top of this he is grabbing everything! And I mean EVERYTHING! I can't wear my hair down or he grabs it, jewelery is out of the question because I learned my lesson with Mac after several necklaces and bracelets were broken, and I can't even just hold him on my lap while I eat without putting my food two feet in front of me. But I just love this stage, because he is so interactive and is so curious. He laughs at the simplest things and is entertained so easily. I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up :(
