"My Guy"

We were at McDonald's a week ago and Stew got an action figure in his happy meal that he instantly loved. He didn't really play on the playground, he just wanted to hold his new toy.  When we got home, he wanted to play with his new prized possession that he refers to as "My Guy". We couldn't find it. Stewart checked the car and it wasn't there.  We had one sad little boy on our hands. Stewart even checked back in at McDonald's to see if he could find it, were we were sitting.  He tried to buy the same toy to replace it, but of course, they were out. So he brought home a different action figure, not quite as fun as the first.  For three days, I heard several times a day, "Daddy going to find my guy?", "Where's my guy? Daddy find it?"

And then there was an action figure miracle.... I was taking Evie to preschool and as Stew was getting into his car seat he suddenly screamed, "My Guy!".  It had been in his car seat the whole time.  How we missed it every time we got in and out of the car for three days, I don't understand.  But the kid is back in heaven.  He sleeps with it and carries it around with him all day.

The Ugly Geeseling

The little farm down the road from our house has several swans, ducks, geese.  And every time we pass the swan section, it always makes me kind of laugh because there is a lone goose that lives with the swans.  He seems so out of place. His feathers always look like he woke up with a bad case of bed head.  (Click on the picture so you can get a larger version.)

In this picture, I wonder if he is actually trying to be like a swan and stretching his neck out.  He seems to hold his own in there, so I guess he's doing fine and I shouldn't worry about him.

I Hoard Boxes

This week I threw away several good boxes.
It was really hard for me.
It still hurts.
What if I need a box sometime soon?
I know I have a problem.
