September 2011

Wow, not including all the birthday and such, September was a busy month!!  I had to take Talen into the doctor on the 13th because he got sick.  Miraculously, he got better really quickly (without medicine even).  Daxton cut his 2nd tooth on the 21st.  It is the other front bottom one.  Two teeth before he is even 5 months old!!  On the 22nd, Talen got re-evaluated for NACD.  We finally have enough families here in St. George that they came here this time.  It was so nice that we didn't have to travel to Ogden for the eval.  Talen got a new program (much like his old one), but this time they want to focus more on crawling and rolling.  They also took out the sit-stand (thank heaven, that exercise was killing my back!!).  On the 25th, Kennedy had her baptism interview with the bishop.  I can't believe that I have a child old enough to be getting baptized.  But, Kennedy is ready and this the decision that she has made.  I am so proud of her!!  Later that same day, our stake realigned ward boundaries, which means our ward got split.  When I first heard that this was happening, I was so distraught.  I love the 2nd ward and we have been so blessed to have these wonderful people in our lives and home.  It made me sick to think that we could possibly be losing all our amazing helpers.  After a week of sadness, I finally accepted the fact that the Lord had other plans for our family and who am I to question Him and His wisdom.  So, I resigned to the fact that we would no longer be in the 2nd ward.  I went to the meeting where the new boundaries were announced.  To my utter surprise and shock, we are still in the 2nd ward!!  Sadly, we got separated from our good friends the Adams, Cavers, and Brannons (they are all in the 9th ward now), but I doubt that some imaginary boundaries will eliminate our friendship.  So, all in all, we ended up right where we needed to be.  I guess that teaches me to never question the Lord again, huh!!       

Yummy Toes!!!

Our little Dax will stick absolutely EVERYTHING in his mouth!!  His latest discovery is his toes!!  He'll fold himself almost completely in half just to get those little toes in his mouth.  What a cutie!!!

 

Jumpin' Jacks Party

We decided to let the kids have their "friend party" at Jumpin Jacks.  It was nice because we went on half price Thursday, so we could invite all their friends!!  We let the kids jump for a little over an hour, then we went back to our house for cupcakes and presents.  All the kids seemed to have a blast!!

Kennedy's 8th Birthday

Since we had the "family" party last week and the "friend" party is tomorrow, we had Kennedy open her presents from us on her actual birthday.  And because this is her 8th birthday, we figured we should make it a little different than her other birthdays.  So, her presents were more "church" related.  We gave her her baptism dress, scriptures, scripture case, a bookmark, a CTR ring, a birthstone necklace, a baptism book, and earrings.  She was especially excited to get her ears pierced!!  It was so cute because when she pulled out the earrings she thought they were pins.  When we told her that they were earrings she got this confused look on her face because she knew they weren't clip-ons.  Then, when she realized that we meant that she could get them pierced she got this huge grin.  It was so adorable!  What a cutie pie!!

Talen & Kennedy's Birthday Celebration

With all the events going on this time of year, I decided that in order to get through it all (and still be sane) I would combine as many things as possible.  So on Talen's birthday, we decided that we would have the family party for both Kennedy and Talen.  Kennedy wanted doughnuts instead of cake, so we had Cathy & Cory's family and all of Jay's family over for presents and doughnuts.  Talen got candy, movie tickets, and lots of clothes.  Kennedy got clothes, DS games, toys, roller blades, and a new bike!!  They both seemed to have a great night!!

Ninja KiKi

It always amazes me what a creative little mind Kennedy has.  I had told her to go get her pajamas on, but when she came into my bedroom wearing her underwear over top of her nightgown, I had to laugh.  She started throwing kicks and punches and I asked her what in the world she was doing.  She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "I'm a ninja, mom!"  Duh, how come I didn't automatically know that?!?!  What a silly girl!!

Daxton's 1st tooth

Well, it happened!  At 20 weeks old, Daxton got his first tooth.  Actually it could have come earlier than that, but it wasn't until today that we noticed it.  We were at to the Pineview Football game and Daxton had been so good.  He was just sitting there enjoying the game and taking in his surroundings.  Then he started to look for something to shove in his mouth (this was not uncommon since he is constantly putting anything that will fit in his mouth).  Since I hadn't brought a binkie, I decided to let him suck on the upper palm/thumb part of my hand.  It was then that I felt it! I couldn't believe it!!  He is too young to be getting a tooth, but there it was.  And it wasn't just one end of the tooth, the entire tooth had cut through!  How do I stop him from growing up so fast?!?!?

Peek-a-boo

I must admit, this is one of my favorite sights!  Daxton is such a good baby.  Whenever he wakes up in the middle of the night, he doesn't cry to get my attention.  He will wake up and peek at me over the side of his port-a-crib.  If I don't wake up he will make a little noise as if to be saying "Mom, I'm awake."  Then as soon as I acknowledge him, he gets this huge grin!  I love it.  He is such a good boy and I love him so much!!  What a great blessing and addition to our family!!!
