All day long he plays hockey!


Well, I think my husband got his wish! As soon as he found out we were having a little boy he has wanted him to be a little hockey player just like him. Growing up in Denver, CO DC Sr's sport is hockey! He loves it, and more than anything else he wanted his son to love it too...and he does! I can't hardly get little man to play with any of his other toys! As soon as he gets up in the morning, till it is time for bed at night, he has his little hockey stick in hand. DC Sr convinced me when little man was about 10 months old to buy a miniature hockey set. I told him he was crazy and that the baby was too young to get into hockey. I was wrong. He has loved that little hockey set more and more the older he gets. In fact its all he wants to play with! When daddy is home with him they go out back and play hockey! If daddy has his stick in hand then little man goes and gathers all the pucks and balls and drops them down by daddy's stick for him to hit. If daddy puts his stick down, little man picks his up and hits the pucks and balls. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen! And he is good at it too! He has great puck control! We are so impressed, and I guess I have to say he is going to be a little hockey player! It is just gonna come second nature to him starting off this little.

At 13 months Little DC started walking. On our family trip to the beach he started taking steps here and there, grabbing onto anything he could find. The week after we came home from the beach he just took off! He started standing up all by himself in the middle of the room with no help, he started following us around the house, and of course getting into lots more stuff he is not supposed to get into. One morning I was in the kitchen and out of the corner of my eye I see a little human walking toward me. I was so caught off guard I jumped back a little and realized it was my little man! I had to get use to the idea of him just moving around freely all by himself with out help. He is loving every minute of this new walking thing, and with it has come so much more! He talks to us like crazy in his our language, with a few discernable words like dada, mama, uh oh!, bye, hi, dc, bri, dag (dog)...and lots of other crazy things! He is climbing on top of small boxes, opening more cabinets, and is obessed with trying to use forks and spoons. He hasn't quite figures out to bring the fork or spoon to his mouth yet! Of course with all this new moving and exploring comes more bumps and bruises. Tonight he got his worst one yet! He was outside with daddy barbequing dinner and took a dive right on the pavers. He got a huge goose egg on his forhead. I was heartbroken. Poor thing! But he is still just going like nothing happened. Such a big world with little time to explore it!

A Perfect Vacation at the Beach

We had such a perfect family vacation at the beach that we didn't even want to come home! We are so lucky that my wonderful parents are willing to take us on a family beach trip every summer. This year we stayed in a beautiful beach house right on the sand in Oceanside. It was so relaxing and the weather was so nice. It is always fun to get together with all the fam and create wonderful memories. We laid out, ate great food, body boarded, played in the waves, played in the sand, watched the olympics all night long, went for long walks on the beach and pier, and shopped a little. DC and I also made a special trip to the San Diego Temple to do a session. It truely is one of the prettiest temples in the world. Little DC learned to walk on this trip and we had so much fun watching him just take off! He loved to play in the water with daddy. It was too cold for him to get in all the way, but he wanted to be right where the waves washed up and got his little feet wet. He and daddy bonded so much on this vacation too because daddy got to be with him all day long like I get to every other day. Needless to say, he is obsessed with daddy now. When daddy is home he does not want me anymore, he wants to be where ever daddy is. They are such cute little buddies, I love them so much. We are already looking forward to next years trip to the beach. We love California and just escaping real life to relax for a week!

Wow, our baby is growing up! He turned 1 on July 12th! I wasn't prepared for this! This first year has gone by so fast! His little personality has come out so much and I am falling more and more in love with him everyday! What a fun Winnie the Pooh 1st birthday party we had! I loved it but hated that he is growing up so fast! I don't want to lose my baby! It was so fun to see him pig out on his cake. He almost half of it all by himself! One of his first tastes of sugar! MMMMMMM! Happy Birthday to our Little Man!

Our 1st & 2nd Anniversary!

We have been married 2 years now, but this year was the first anniversary we got to spend together! Last year DC was in Iraq! Wow, am I ever glad that is over and we got to be together this year. DC took me to see Mamma Mia! And yes, we cut into our 2 year old wedding cake topper! It tasted great still! We were surprised. What an amazing 2 years this has been with my sweatheart by my side. He is the best husband, so thoughtful, sweet, kind, loving, and funny! He has made my life complete. I look forward to an eternity of anniversaries! I love you baby!

DC jr's first 4th of July

Well there won't be anymore first for DC jr now! The 4th was the last holiday befor his big one year birthday! What a fun day we had introducing him to fireworks, food, and fun that happens on the 4th! He was so excited and so cute the whole day! Wow he is grow and getting such a personality!

My 1st Mother's Day

My First Mother's Day was so wonderful! First of all I woke up with a fever and feeling not too great, but my husband was there to take the baby off my hands and take care of me. I got to sleep in, something I never do anymore. When I woke up my husband had breakfast ready for me, along with a rose an adorable card. Church was awesome because the men took over the Primary, so I was able to go to Relief Society for the first time in a while and enjoy the lesson. After church we got together with my family, and Adam my brother-in-law, made dinner for all of us women with some help of all the other men. It was awesome. He made us like a 3 course authentic Mexican meal he had learned on his mission. I ate till I could pop. It was nice to finally join the ranks of the mothers on Mother's Day. But most of all it was a special day for me to reflect on how lucky I am to be a mom, especially to my sweet little baby boy that I adore. There is nothing like it on this earth! What a blessing!

Finally

Ok, I think I'm getting the hang of this! I finally have a blog! I thought it would never happen! It has taken me two nights or just sitting here trying to figure this out, but I know it will better with time. So, no one laugh at my blog...I am sure you experienced bloggers can find see my inexperience! I officially a blogger and I can see how addicting this is!

I feel old tonight. I have been messing around with the computer for hours, trying to figure this blog stuff out. It seems like this computer stuff comes easier to the younger generations. I am officially old!
