Sunday - After a whole morning of rain, the weather cleared up and Adorable Husband, Andrea, Kristen and I went for a nice 'fall weather' walk at La Plaine, the country side of Geneva. Beautiful afternoon.

Mocow to London

Well, the plan was to go to Moscow to celebrate Raya (Eid) with my parents, but after some research on how much the visa would cost to go there for such a short period of time, the finance department (@the parents) decided it was best I just keep the money for my trip to Malaysia. At least I am hoping I can go home in December.

So now Raya will be held in London with Nat and Grant. Since flights is cheaper and no visa requirement, Adorable Husband and I (well AH doesn't know yet) will be flying there for the 4th of November weekend. Nat's plan is, everything Malaysian, food, dressing and language. Nat said she will be the only one speaking then. Hahah.
That will be good fun.

Oh another note, found out my contract got approved. Just need to sort out the fine details now.

Al-fatihah

I was woken up by sms rings and a phone call from my dad informing me that Auntie Endon (Prime Minister of Malaysia's wife) passed away. I was so shocked and very sadden by the news and wished I was back home to pay my last respect to her and to be with my friend Nori. I was reading the news all day at work wishing and trying to feel I was there.
While I was living back home I was working for Datin Seri's foundation (my first job ever) and I can honestly tell you that she was the kindest and most giving woman I know. She will be terribly missed by all.

My deepest condolences to Pak Lah and his family.

Nango-chan and Mama-san (Nango's mom) stopped by in Geneva for a night from their week tour of some European countries. Adorable Husband and I took them out for a fondue dinner and the next day we quickly showed them around Geneva before they left for Paris. It was so short but good fun. Come back soon ok!

Salève

 
Over the weekend, the weather was too nice to stay inside. Véronique, Marc and I decided to go for a walk in France on Saturday. Oui, au France!

We took the bus to the border and walked into France and up on the telecabin to the top of Salève. It was a nice hike down. The mountain is popular with paragliders and we some guys taking off. Quite cool. But the best part was to see the city I am living in from the top - Genève!

On the way down, we saw a man jogging up. It turns out to be thyroid doctor. He is one of those super human that does races up and down mountains for fun, I guess it was his training day.
After getting down the mountain, we took the advantage of being in France and went to mini market to get some meat for dinner. We smuggled cheaper and tastier entrocotes into Switzerland. :)

fasting month...

Day one : Got up early to have a drink of cranberry juice forgot about yogurt bought yesterday.
Adorable Husband not fasting with me, because he has big meeting with Prof and needs his energy. Likely situation, he wouldn't be fasting with me at all this year.
At work now, it is lunch time and me at computer surfing the net.
My mom texting me to say Ramadan starts tomorrow for them, and asking if I want to spend Raya (Eid al fitri) in Moscow. I told her to buy me a ticket and she said for me to look the price of fares.
Am thinking of heading home early today just because I feel like it. I do miss the ramadan months in KL when the office lets us leave 1.5 hour earlier to avoid the traffic but everybody in Kl had the same idea so traffic jam all the same.
